Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Peaksnary, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits to the page Richard Dawkins have not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and has been or will be removed. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or in other media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles. Additionally, all new biographies of living people must contain at least one reliable source.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask a question on your talk page. Again, welcome.  ChamithN (talk) 01:02, 29 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem icon Your addition to Social Darwinism and Final Solution has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. (Hohum @) 01:46, 29 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The picture of Hitler is used by Wikipediai on his page for crying out loud

I would urge you to read the bluelinks in Hohum's message to you above. You had better very quickly get up to speed on copyrighted material and it's use on Wikipedia. It is a critical rule here as it has possible legal implications. If you need further advice, check out the Teahouse and address your questions there. Please DO NOT copy and paste chunks of published books or articles. Use your own words. This is critical. Regards Irondome (talk) 02:30, 29 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It's not a great idea to ascribe Pol Pot as an intellectual influence on living people, as you did here twice: [1][2]. GABgab 02:44, 29 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 04:35, 30 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for either being User:R2d212345 trying to dodge a block that was coming for him, or else a troll of comparable flavor. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may request an unblock by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Ian.thomson (talk) 04:51, 30 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
