Disambiguation link notification for December 15
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Mary Somerville, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Chelsea and Hanover Square (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:21, 15 December 2017 (UTC)

Copyright problem on Maria Margaretha Kirch
[edit]Some of the material you included in the above article appears to have been copied from the copyright article http://www.journals.uchicago.edu/doi/10.1086/354389. Copying text directly from a source is a copyright violation. Unfortunately, for copyright reasons, the content had to be removed. Please leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions or if you think I made a mistake. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 00:29, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- I did not use the Schiebinger Source you reference, because I did not have access to it. When I started editing the article a lot of material was alreday in there, and I kept some of the Schiebinger material, but tried to confirm or replace it with material I had access to. I used some material on guilds in from Schiebinger in https://books.google.de/books?redir_esc=y&hl=de&id=KO507eQPO4oC&q=Kirch#v=snippet&q=Kirch&f=false , mainly on guilds. I find it a bit difficult to establish what was removed, and if I added it. In any case, the article was focusing heavely on her dispute with the academy, probably to much.--Peabodybore (talk) 07:52, 27 January 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Do you have similar pics of the subject regarding photo of Peabody Trust Estate in London UK including shots from different shot angles and FOV? Ryan (talk) 04:51, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
No sorry, I took that one just to illustrate the article, and the POV was meant to mirrow the Gustave Dore illustration (he took some artistic liberty with the estate).--Peabodybore (talk) 19:32, 16 March 2018 (UTC)

Hypatia
[edit]Hi,
On December 20th, you added to the article Hypatia : "The author Carlo Pascal claimed in 1908 that her murder was an anti-feminist act and brought about a change in the treatment of women, as well as the decline of the Mediterranean civilisation in general." [1] I am interested in sourcing this... do you still have the reference that you used ? Thank you. Gene.arboit (talk) 17:22, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, its in the source quoted at the end of the para, which in Google Books does not show the page number, hence I could not add it. Have a look at "Hypatia: Mathematician, Philosopher, Myth" by the author Charlotte Booth, Fonthill Media, 2017, isbn 978-1781555460
- Try this link: https://books.google.de/books?id=RVvdDgAAQBAJ&pg=PT24&lpg=PT24&dq=Carlo+Pascal+Mathematician,+Philosopher,+Myth&source=bl&ots=KHnUJMzkrf&sig=tmaB9L28vopoW2YRA48QGcQRkcY&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiK4Zal0pbaAhUMCewKHZXpDQkQ6AEIJzAA#v=onepage&q=Carlo%20Pascal%20Mathematician%2C%20Philosopher%2C%20Myth&f=false
- If you search for Carlo Pascal and Hyptia in Google books you find a lot of references to him, he appears to have been an influential commentator on her, and at the root of the re-interpretation of Hypatia by European feminists.--Peabodybore (talk) 13:22, 31 March 2018 (UTC)
