Hi,

Thanks for your interest on the Indian Malaysian page. Recently we have formed the WikiProject Dravidian Civilizations. This group is to promote and further work on articles relating to the Dravidian civilizations of the Malayalees, Tamils, Telugus, and Kannadigas of Southern India. Other Dravidian civilizations outside of India like the Tamils of Sri Lanka, Brahui of Pakistan, and Malto of Bangladesh would be covered as well. This will include a wide array of topics from diaspora (like the Indian Malaysian page), dance, martial arts, literature, history, and more. If you are interested in joining this group, please go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Dravidian civilizations and sign your name in the members section. Regards.

Your contributed article, Multi-Lane Free Flow

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Multi-Lane Free Flow. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Multi Lane Free Flow. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Multi Lane Free Flow - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. ... discospinster talk 04:38, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You can't just erase a page and redirect it to another one. If the title of the page is wrong then you have to move it. ... discospinster talk 16:17, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Meet-up: Editors from Malaysia

[edit]

Hello! You might or might not have seen me around here as I've not been active in Wikipedia the past few months. Before leaving for NS, it was my intention to form a Malaysian user group. I'm still very much interested in forming the group. However, before forming the group, I would love to organize a meet-up between editors of the Malaysian editing community to test the waters and hear what you guys might have to say. To my knowledge, there has not been a Wikipedia meet-up in this country before. I don't mind organizing the meet-up but need to know if anyone is interested in joining the meet-up. So... please reply and let me know if you would be interested in joining a meet-up and your ideas/thoughts about a user group. Thank you.

Looking forward to hearing from you, Bejinhantalks 12:27, 15 December 2012 (UTC) (Message delivered by EdwardsBot (talk) 12:27, 15 December 2012 (UTC))[reply]

A tag has been placed on Gas immersion laser doping requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from studylib.net/doc/8219501/semiconductor-manufacturing---in-no-particular-order. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. DrStrauss talk 10:50, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • You deleted the page before anyone even had the time to contest it and you didn't put in any effort to verify whether or not the speedy deletion request had any merit - if you had, you would have seen that the "book" located at http://studylib.net/doc/8219501/semiconductor-manufacturing---in-no-particular-order is nothing but a collection of 110 Wikipedia articles bundled together into a single PDF file with a cover page. If you had put it any effort, you would have seen that the book even credits Wikipedia as the source for all it's content. If you had put in any effort, you would have seen also that the book having copied Wikipedia in its entirety is also licensed CC by SA 3.0. But you didn't put in any effort and so Wikipedia has to suffer for it. --Pavithran (talk) 18:48, 1 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A goat for you!

[edit]

Well done on de-copyvio-ing Gas immersion laser doping. It now both asserts notability and isn't copypasted. Keep up the good work :)

DrStrauss talk 22:50, 2 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • To be clear, there was never any copyright violations in the first place to be de-copyvio-ed. The book copies Wikipedia and not the other way around. I rewrote the article in a different way to prevent any other gung-ho editors from doing a speedy-delete again. --Pavithran (talk) 16:23, 3 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
