Question about tag team pages in AFD

[edit]

Is there anything else up for deletion besides Batista and Rey Mysterio (I voted in this earlier) and Christian+Tyson Tomko? I know Fire and Ice is gone now, and there is prods on a few still I believe. RobJ1981 18:44, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just put a prod on Flair and Piper. What about this: The McMahons. It's for Shane and Vince. They've teamed on and off over the years, and teamed a bit this year. Alot of the article is about the Spirit Squad as well... since they were allies of the McMahons. Feel free to prod it if you want. It has some notability I suppose, but not a whole lot. WWE appears to be free of tag team cruft almost. I put a prod on Vicious and Delicious. Other than that, WCW teams seems to be fine as well. I haven't gone through the other categories yet. RobJ1981 19:07, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There hasn't been many other pairings between the McMahons though. Shane and Stephanie were owners of WCW and ECW during the whole Alliance storyline, and things like that. I suppose a McMahon page could work with information like that, considering that was a major storyline for almost a year. RobJ1981 19:38, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Every time I try to edit something, you delete it. You are not the only one who knows about wrestling, so fuck off you prick. I hate you and would wish you nothing but death. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.84.67.77 (talk) 19:41, 8 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Your edits in the FBI page were vandalism.. if you had read the edit summary you would have seen that reasons were given for the revert. the fact is the changes you made were bad for the article and to continue to make these changes is an act of vandalism --- Paulley

Wrestling articles in need of photos

[edit]

Do you know good places to upload wrestling photos for Wikipedia? I've made a list of the articles needing photos (a work in progress, there is much more to be added I'm sure): User:RobJ1981/NeededPWphotos. I posted a similar section at the wrestling project talk page (no responses yet). Feel free to add wrestlers I missed to the list. RobJ1981 05:49, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wrestling promotions

[edit]

Sorry about deleting Norton, I missed that it had an article when I was fixing the list before. As long as it has a page (and is notable enough) it can stay on the list. RobJ1981 17:30, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

International Pro Wrestling: United Kingdom needs a bit of cleanup in the events section. I believe there is some others that need it as well. Per other promotion articles: notable events should be listed only, not just a list of every event. I don't know much about UK promotions, so I wouldn't even know where to start. I posted a reply on the talk page, but as a side note: I know a few admins. I could ask them if there is anything that could be done with the editor, if needed. I would bet there must be something, because ignoring help and just making poor articles isn't right. Let me know if I should ask or not. RobJ1981 19:26, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Damaja

[edit]

This user never responds to anything. I finally reported him to the AIV board, but it was ruled a content dispute and I was told to go through the WP:DR process. Like I said, he never responds to anything, so that is impossible. What should we do to deal with him? I would really like to see him gone. -- THL 23:22, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

True, but he could eventually be indef blocked for vandalism. However, as I mentioned before the AIV board ruled that this is a content dispute, so that place is officially useless to this cause. At first I was told to explain it to him more clearly. I left him a long, sweet sounding message on his talk page, and nothing changed. So, I went back to the actual admin, and they said it was a content dispute. Meaning that in order to get him blocked I have to go through the dispute resolution process with someone who, according to Interiot's tool, has absolutely no talk page edits. Do you see any way that we could get him blocked for vandalism for what he's doing? Do you know anyone that would listen long enough, and be willing to look at everything he is doing to finally understand that it is vandalism? -- THL 20:12, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, User:James Maxx had an idea how to "give him a slap", but I'm not sure if I like it or not. Read the following:

I do have an idea on how to stop him, but its really radical... I think we should intentionally vandalize one of the pages that he usually goes to, and put a large, invisible message on it for him, telling him to look at his talk page, which in turn, will lead him to read the style guide at WP:PW. What do you think? -- Jลмєs Mลxx™ Msg me My contribs 01:10, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Radical indeed, but at this point this is the only way I see to make people understand that he is ignoring his warnings. Like I said, I'm not sure about this idea. What do you think? -- The Hybrid wishes you a Merry Christmas 21:25, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't really vandalize it. I would just leave a HUGE invisible message for him in the moveset area. By his complete lack of talk page edits, I doubt that he uses his watchlist or checks page histories. I'll try it, and I hope that it works. Cheers, -- The Hybrid wishes you a Merry Christmas 00:41, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Steven Richards

[edit]

Please do not re-add un notable trivia... esspecially as it is un verifiable. Him a having a move (which is still used today) performed on him isnt notable... unless it had some baring on his career. And even if this was sourced information it would be more suited to the Gregory Helms article than for here anyway; as it is his move which was banned. --- Paulley 17:13, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly how is it unnotable if it was the final time it was done on WWE television? The source is the fact that I saw it myself, and the move has not been performed in the WWE since, as anyone who has followed Helms' career could easily confirm, and several websites such as lordsofpain.net made mention of the event after the match was broadcast.

So far I can't find one (believe me, I really wanted to) but when I do I'll post it; most likely WrestleMag will put it up soon. TheDingbat 19:45, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Finishing Move Policy

[edit]

Where does it say that Finishing moves never loose their status in the articles? I was flipping through the archives, but never found the discussion, or a link to a subpage containing the discussion leading to this policy. It has been quoted many times on talk pages, but I don't see it. Could you provide me with a link please? Cheers, -- The Hybrid 07:34, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting, as I was told that it was a policy. Shall we hold a vote about on the WP:PW talk page and make it policy? Several users, myself included though I was just quoting other people, have been going around saying that it is a WP:PW policy. I would like to make it where it isn't a lie anymore. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 12:33, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Frankly I'm not sure that what I'm about to say is relevant to the article, but am I the only one who, while he enjoyed the show, felt a bit tricked?

I mean in at least the first two series H F-W gave the impression he was batching on the smallholding. One episode had him going to bed alone on Christmas Eve. Idea concerning the wrestling articles up for deletion

[edit]

My idea, which I feel will make all parties happy, is to add two particular templates over all the articles on the AfD, the ones that are seen on the Internet wrestling community page. I think if this is done, it may comply with the standards that User:One Night In Hackney was talking about, since now everyone will know that the articles lack references, and it needs some, and it may contain original research. Well, I hope this helps to keep those articles from ever being nominated again. --  Jลмєs Mลxx™  Msg me  Contribs  02:44, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

By the way

[edit]

I made a plea at WP:AN about the AfD, and an administrator closed it, and stated WP:IAR and WP:SNOW. So I guess we won the battle, and due to the policy that WP:IAR states, those articles should never be put up for deletion again! --  Jลмєs Mลxx™  Msg me  Contribs  03:10, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Brock Lesnar

[edit]

i dont mean to make any harm to that page but i just think the movesets are not really nedded beacuse its hard to say which move he used to do the most with so many and i think its not necassary not just beacuse he is a mma fighter now but the f-5 is already included in the beggining his nickname the next big thing is to and heyman as his manager is already there all that at the start of the reading so its better to make the page abit short and the references i just think its better to have whats currently thats mma not the vikings stuff and the picture i just think its a better one but i dont want to make anything wrong i accept anything you want me to change if you dont like it. Thanks

that's ok hopefully the combined version was ok -- Paulley

the combined version was good i will just make a bit edit but i wont delete what you modified. if you then want to leave it like that then its up to you. Thanks

Brock Lesnar In Wrestling

[edit]

hey the modification on the page is good but i just think the picture isnt that good so im changin that to the one i took at a house show and i think the page looks better without the in wrestling stuff i know dead wrestlers have them but its different with different peoples like tony atlas who dosent have it just says his signature was the press slam thats the same with brock with the f-5 on the beggining of the page i think thats enough its not really important to have some of the moves he did it dosent even look good so its better of without that atleast for know i think and i started it in the discussion so anyone who dosent agree can tell it there. Thanks

Well when you have a wrestler so big in modern times.. esspecially as he has named moves its proberly best to keep it.. but it iis something you can get a disscussion started with -- Paulley

Image:Z-man dropkick.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Z-man dropkick.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. I'm sure that you're just trying to improve the article. Please just find a reliable source about her career that we can cite in the article, and then make sure to not add anything above and beyond that. Jkelly 23:30, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, that's not really what we mean by a reliable source (and citing one's memory of a television show doesn't work at all). Nevertheless, that should be fine for the uncontroversial summary we now have back in the article. Sorry to be a stickler about this. Jkelly 23:38, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. Another thing -- we might be able to use this image in an article about The Cabinet, but we cannot use it to illustrate what Weber looks like. You can see Wikipedia:Fair use criteria for more information. Jkelly 23:52, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You could write to her publicity team via her official website and ask nicely if they would donate a freely licensed photograph. Make sure to be clear about what freely licensed means. The safest thing is to use one of the examples I linked to. Jkelly 23:56, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:did i miss something

[edit]

I think there's an anon who's unhappy that you're working on a wrestling-related article that he believes to be non-notable (in fact, it's got minimal sourcing and no indication in the article of notability as far as I can see, so I've prodded it on the anon's behalf), while !voting delete on the AfDs of other wrestling-related articles (I think the anon considers it either hypocritical or unfair). Apart from that, I have no idea why the anon's picking on you in particular. I hope that helps clear it up. --ais523 16:55, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

I see that you removed the {{prod}}. Do you have any sources to back up the information in the article that are independent of the promotion itself, or mentions from such sources that would help demonstrate notability? (I'm going to put the article up for AfD for the anon, as it's probably better to have a proper discussion about the matter from people who know more about this than me; also, it would help to calm down the anon once all the arguments were visible and the debate was calmed down, and I said I'd AfD it if the article was deprodded.) --ais523 17:00, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

I agree with your current fix of our problem, yet want you to know that Kaiju Big Battel is no more fictional than pro wrestling is. It's not a cartoon or comic book. It's live action, with wrestlers, doing wrestling moves. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by MEGABRENTX (talkcontribs) 23:41, 20 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Alright, I'm glad it was just a lack of knowledge. It's all live using the same means as other pro wrestling shows. No special tricks.

Excuse me mr. Paulley, is there something wrong with the Brock Lesnar page? except that you dont like the editor?

Actually the use of sockpuppets and the blatant disregard for warnings kinda covers the intended issue here... i see your User:Deamon guy was blocked so i guess this is your new guy nice for you -- Paulley

Pauley, if you click a letter at the top of the page, you would have seen that the lists of planets have been organized alphabetically. The list was getting to long so we split it up into smaller chunks. I provided direct links to hopefully avoid confusion. Please do not replace the planet list on the parent page. Theres also a ton of references to boot. Thank you. Cyberia23 19:29, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not your fault - it's understandable. I wasn't angry by the way - I just freaked out when I first seen the whole list was back and I thought someone deleted the shorter pages and condensed it all back to one page. I was like "NOOOOOOO!!!!! - All that work! Which was a pain in the ass to split up. I preferred keeping it to one page myself, but certain people complained it was getting too big while others wanted only major planets listed and to get rid of minor ones. The compromise was to split it up. Cyberia23 20:34, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:PW desperately needs an admin, and you deserve to be one more than anyone else in it, so I figured that I would offer. Peace, -- The Hybrid 22:17, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, then when I have time I'll draft a nomination. I only have like 5 minutes right now before I have to leave, but I'll get to it ASAP. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 22:05, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I doubt that I am going to get to it before I go on vacation. I leave on Friday morning, and won't be back until the 21st. I'll do it then. Peace, -- The Hybrid 00:48, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So...

[edit]

Do you just sit on Wikipedia all day, every day and analyze every little edit anyone made on anything? - "Unsigned comment blah blah, fuck off"

Actually, i havent used wikipedia for several months -- Paulley 17:55, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've restored this now. Really you should be able to just ask the deleting admin rather than listing at deletion review, or in the section at the top of deletion review (here) or as that notes just asking another admin. (As an admin personally I don't mind who restores such, and I guess most don't but it can be a nice courtesy to start with the original deleter.) --pgk 18:45, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A CAW site is not a reliable source, and that site doesn't even mention Abyss. TJ Spyke 01:02, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
