Welcome

[edit]

Hello, Paul Klein, and welcome to the English Wikipedia! Judging from the complex edits you made, you're not new to the project. If you have any questions about it anyway, don't hesitate to drop a note at my talk page :) Regards from Slovenia, -Missmarple 17:07, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry about your edits of my talk page; when I mess up something, I just fix it, write 'oops' in the edit summary and pretend it never happened :P Anyway... I'll keep an eye on your edits so expect hearing from me :) Missmarple 20:20, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

New Game Article

[edit]

Hey! I see that you made a new videogame related page. You might consider joining the computer and video game project- right now I'm adding your new page to the "new pages section" and attributing it to you. --PresN 21:20, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

That's quite a difficult question - U.S. copyright laws can get quite confusing. You should find Wikipedia:Image use policy and Wikipedia:Image copyright tags useful to read. Also, there's been an article on Wikipedia Signpost this week about fair use tags (Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2006-08-07/Publicity photos)... I think that asking the people at the computer and video game project would be a good idea ;) --Missmarple 08:44, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again! You're doing a very fine job with Heideroosjes :) I wanted to suggest you something anyway. Since you often write new articles, using Wikipedia:Tools/Navigation popups would help you a lot. For example, when you mark 'Dutch' as a link, you can highlight it and a popup will show the first few lines of the 'Dutch' article. In this particular case, it is useful because you will see that 'Dutch' is in fact a disambiguation page, which means that you'll either have to link to 'Dutch people', 'Dutch language' or 'Netherlands'. I found popups very useful and I think you would, too. But yeah. Keep up the great work :) -Missmarple 09:29, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not upload images in the GIF format

[edit]

Hello and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you've uploaded a number of images in the GIF format. In the future, please save GIF images in the PNG format before converting (see Wikipedia:Preparing images for upload). PNG images almost always have a smaller file size, which decreases the amount of time they take to load. There are a bunch of other advantages to the PNG format such as lossless compression that you can read about on its Wikipedia article. ---Remember the dot 03:23, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Page deletions

[edit]

I've deleted a number of articles you created, because they clearly failed the notability guidelines for inclusion, and more specifically the WP:MUSIC guideline. Artists should have released two albums on a major label, or charted on a national chart, or toured internationally in significant venues, or have received major coverage in professional magazines or newspapers. Record labels should have at least a few notable bands and releases before it can be considered notable in itself. Records should be made by a notable band. In short, not every label, band or record that is officially released can be included on Wikipedia. 14:11, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:SINema.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 01:54, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Paul Klein! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 329 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Alessandro Pier Guidi - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. David Saelens - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Fair use rationale for File:I'm alive and on fire.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:I'm alive and on fire.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Courcelles 05:19, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Non-Free rationale for File:Landofillusioningame.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Landofillusioningame.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under Non-Free content criteria but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a Non-Free rationale.

If you have uploaded other Non-Free media, consider checking that you have specified the Non-Free rationale on those pages too. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Orphaned non-free media (File:Cover noisy fairytales.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Cover noisy fairytales.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:31, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Formula One driver numbers, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Alexander Rossi. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Notice

The article Split (Peter Pan Speedrock and Zeke EP) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NALBUM. No significant coverage or other indication of notability. As it's a split EP, there's no suitable redirect target.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
