User talk:Paul Easter
Welcome!
Hello, Paul Easter, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Stagger (film), which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- The plain and simple conflict of interest guide
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- Tutorial

- How to create your first article (using the Article Wizard if you wish)

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}}
before the question. Again, welcome! Drm310 (talk) 15:27, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Paul T T Easter. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Paul T T Easter
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Paul T T Easter requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Ruby Murray 16:35, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
Hello Paul Easter,
It seems to me that an article you worked on, Black Shuck film, may be copied from http://www.lovefilm.com/film/Black-Shuck/173530/Black. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.
It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.
Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 17:15, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
Paul Easter, you are invited to the Teahouse
Hi Paul Easter! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. |
The recent edit you made to Paul T T Easter has been reverted, as it removed all content from the page without explanation. Please do not do this, as it is considered vandalism; instead, use the sandbox for testing. If you think the page should be deleted, see here for what to do. Thank you. Black Shuck film
What you can do is to use a "sandbox" to create the article. I would suggest creating it in user:Paul Easter/Black Shuck (film). Just click on the link and start editing. "Black Shuck (film)" or "Black Shuck" would be a common name format. Another suggestion is to find a film article with a format you like. Copy the article to user:Paul Easter/Black Shuck (film) and edit it as necessary. Remember to avoid copy/pastes from copyrighted articles that would be considered copyright violations; that would be an issue with anything in your sandbox. The article should have an encyclopedic tone and not read like an advertisement. (see WP:TONE and WP:NOTADVERTISING). When the article seems to be in good shape, you can either WP:MOVE it to article space or put it into a WP:AFC. AFC would be carefully reviewed by other editors before approval to be used as an article. Both have their pros and cons. I am not much of an editor. You might try user:CorporateM - you can send him a private email, if necessary. A couple more links: Wikipedia:Paid_editing#Paid_editing and Wikipedia:Reward board. Any paid editing need to meet Wikipedia's standards. Best of luck! Jim1138 (talk) 16:42, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Black Shuck (film)
Hello Paul Easter,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Black Shuck (film) for deletion, because it appears to duplicate an existing Wikipedia article, [[{{{article}}}]].
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

Speedy deletion nomination of Paul T T Easter
You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
A tag has been placed on Paul T T Easter, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an acceptable page. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this page is not blatant advertising, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You are welcome to edit the page to fix this problem, but please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. As well as removing promotional phrasing, it helps to add factual encyclopaedic information to the page, and add citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the page will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Bob talk 21:53, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

Article Assignment (film)
Hello. I see that you have blanked the page, but have removed the speedy deletion tag to facilitate speedy deletion. Are you attempting to keep the page? In that case, I suggest adding enough material to establish notability of the subject. If you wish to delete the article and start anew, please tag it for speedy deletion or leave a message on my talk page, and I will do so for you. KJ click here 02:18, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
- @Paul Easter: Hello, and firstly, thanks for your comment on my talk page. Secondly, please don't be discouraged about editing on Wikipedia. Be assured that all users here assume good faith and do not believe that you have any ill-intent. You can have as many tries as you can to get things right, until you do so. If you wish to add content onto Wikipedia, than I suggest that you read the policies and guidelines of Wikipedia, starting with the Wikipedia:Five pillars. If you are having problems with understanding rules and guidelines, you are welcome to ask for help at the Wikipedia:Teahouse where they answer questions or asked an experienced editor. For all that's worth, you can ask me questions to help you write the article. I'm happy to help you work in Wikipedia.
- Just a side not, paid editing is highly discouraged. There are editors who are able to and can help for free. Don't feel bad about asking for help, and don't worry if you get it wrong! KJ click here 02:37, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
Advice
I would strongly suggest creating these articles in a sandbox such as user:Paul Easter/Black Shuck (film). You will likely get less greef. Blanking pages to remove speedy deletion templates is against policy and could get you wp:blocked Jim1138 (talk) 02:23, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Assignment (film)
Hello Paul Easter,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Assignment (film) for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. Take a look at our suggestions for essential content in short articles to learn what should be included.

Paid editing
I'm coming on here to explain about paid editing, as one edit on your userpage history says that someone said that you could pay to have an entry on Wikipedia. I think you might have been referring to Jim's comment, so I'd like to clarify how paid editing works and is seen on Wikipedia.
To put it bluntly, you cannot pay to have an article on Wikipedia. You will probably get someone off Wikipedia (usually as part of a company) telling you that you can pay them a fee to have them place an article about you on Wikipedia. They'll tell you all sorts of things such as how they'll monitor the page and re-add it if it's deleted, but those people are scam artists. They do not represent Wikipedia in any way, shape, or form, and paid editors of this nature are almost always caught quickly and banned from Wikipedia for abuse of the system, as most of the things they try to write about fail notability guidelines and would not pass notability guidelines (GNG) even if it was cleaned up. Now there are some honest paid editing companies out there that will be honest about how the notability guidelines on Wikipedia work and will not guarantee that your page will remain on Wikipedia. The really good companies will let you know if creating an article would be possible and if they know you fail notability guidelines, will tell you that they can't create an article.
As far as the paid editing board goes, that board is not a guarantee either. You can post there asking for an article and the editors will try to see if they can find sources to show notability. While there are one or two people who will create an article hoping for a reward without proving notability, most of the people who frequent the board will not create the article unless they are sure that the subject passes GNG. During this entire process the editor creating the page will need to be open about why they're editing.
Hopefully this explains our guidelines on paid editing a little. I do want to stress that paid editors should be transparent about their involvement and financial involvement at all times. This also includes you, if you have paid people to edit the page. If you have paid someone to make an article, you should be up front about this. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 10:12, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
Your use of multiple Wikipedia accounts
Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Paul Easter, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community. — This lousy T-shirt — (talk) 16:26, 28 February 2014 (UTC)

This account has been blocked indefinitely as a sock puppet that was created to violate Wikipedia policy. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but using them for illegitimate reasons is not, and that all edits made while evading a block or ban may be reverted or deleted. If this account is not a sock puppet, and you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here. ~~~~}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Paul, I and others spent a considerable amount of time giving you suggestions on how to get articles of your films on Wikipedia. To my frustration (and probably others), it seems that you decided to not take the advice and created much work for others to fix. This is not your website, it belongs to the Wikimedia Foundation. It's not available for wp:Free speech. You need to abide by policy set by the Wikimedia Foundation if you wish to contribute here. Jim1138 (talk) 23:40, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
