Re your invitation for disaffected Lennar customers to "put their concerns on Wikipedia"—you appear to have completely misunderstood the point of this site. It is anything but a place to gripe about the subject of one of the articles, it's an encyclopedia. Possibly inspired by the misguided appeal on your web site, some inexperienced individual subsequently mis-edited the article, trashing the formatting. Please consider rephrasing or removing entirely the WIkipedia section of your web site. Thanks. —johndburger 02:33, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
RESPONSE:
FWIW, your use of "your" is mistaken.
I am inclined to think that the bare entry for Lennar is simply a puff for the company. My addition was intended to suggest that there is another side to the story. I provided a bare link to the criticism site [1] and nothing more. The "griper" is a real estate agent down in Florida whose clients apparently have had some big problems with Lennar. I also made reference to the fact that Lennar takes issue with that other side.
I agree that the subsequent additional material added by the griper reflected poor judgment, and I particularly resent the stuff he put on his web site basically inviting his compatriots to spam the wikipedia entry. I am urging him to take that material off his web site. OTOH, I am urging you to accept my original entry. (the single sentence at the end of the original paragraph) Otherwise, the entry is one-sided.
Or, how would you propose to rephrase my original entry to make it more neutral?
- Ah, I think I see—the page on the gripe site mentioned you by name, saying "our first post on WIkipedia ... by Paul Levey", which led me to the conclusion that you had made that entry on the gripe site, inviting people to post on WIkipedia. Very sorry about that. In any event, the Wikipedia invitation appears to have disappeared from the gripe site. As for your edit to the Lennar article, I guess I thought that It has attracted a fierce critic which it is suing for defamation and trademark infringement just didn't say enough—who is the critic exactly? I must admit, though, that my reaction to the griper's edits probably affected my reaction to yours. I've reverted to your version, with some friendly amendments.
- I agree that there is no reason at all not to have an even bigger criticism section in the article, and you should feel free to add more, especially if you can back it up with references. But if you think the "bare" entry was puffery, you should look at even older versions of it, like this which read like a commercial. Anyway, thanks for your measured reaction to my revert. —johndburger 20:26, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
My apologies! I reverted back one entry too far when I removed a vandalism edit. I just reinstated your change. -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 01:41, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Nice work on the MAD article. If you have time or interest, you might be the best man to make similar corrections to the Wiki page for the case.Potter Zebby (talk) 15:48, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
