Welcome to Wikipedia
[edit]Listed below are some brief introductions containing all the basics needed to use, comment on, and contribute to Wikipedia.
- Main Introduction — What is Wikipedia?
- Wikipedia:A Primer for newcomers — A good starting point.
- The Five Pillars — What are the principles behind Wikipedia?
- Quick Introductions to:
- Policies and guidelines — How does Wikipedia actually work?
- Talk pages — How do I communicate in Wikipedia?
- Referencing — How do I add sources to articles?
- Uploading images — How do I add and use images?
- Navigating Wikipedia — How do I find my way around?
- What Wikipedia is not - even though everyone can edit it, Wikipedia is still an encyclopedia.
If you want to know more about a specific subject, Help:Help explains how to navigate the many help pages.
- Google: Wikipedia is very well indexed by Google. Searching for a term, even about an editing question, followed by "wiki" or "wikipedia" usually pulls up what you need.
Where next?
[edit]- Check out Help:Watching pages. Your own Watchlist can become your favorite place to visit.
- If you wish to express an opinion or make a comment, Where to ask questions will point you in the correct direction.
- If you would like to edit an article, the Basic tutorial will show you how, and How to help will give you some ideas for things to edit.
- If you would like to create a new article, Starting an article will explain how to create a new page, with tips for success and a link to Wikipedia's Article Wizard, which can guide you through the process of submitting a new article to Wikipedia.
- For more support and some friendly contacts to get you started, the Editors' Welcome page or the Wikipedia:Teahouse page could be your next stop!

Please don't....
[edit]...do any more of this kind of thing. If you're going to contribute from this account please make it constructive. Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 00:11, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
Sorry, what's that? I should do it, but not with this account? Great idea! Thanks! PatheticManatee (talk) 01:30, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

- I'm not going to make the accept/decline decision on this appeal myself. I'd prefer another admin to make the decision as a second opinion. I would just ask them to look at the contribs for this editor first - it's a short list and won't take long. Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 08:32, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

Request reason:
What disruptive editing did I do? I made a proposal on the appropriate place for it (village pump). Some [expletive] didn't like it enough to give me some copy&paste bull on my user page, and I responded, on my own user page, in kind. Then she blocks my I.P. address. Either unblock it or have a third party block me. Let's go over these purported "disruptive edits" for which I've been blocked. I really [expletive]ed up the Anser Dine page, didn't I? That suggestion about merging two stubs on manatee species together, that was so clearly disruptive! User Kim Dent-Brown is abusing her powers on this site and preventing other users from making meaningful contributions to Wikipedia. Decline reason:
Fails to address reason for block, which is an intent to troll rather than contribute. Implies socks will be used. NativeForeigner Talk 10:21, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:
I request that NativeForeigner be removed as admin. He failed to address my contributions outside a single instance at the village pump. My comupter died last night and I've got a new one, complete with new IP address. If I'm just a troll, I'm a damn stupid one for trying to appeal my block. I have been blocked for "disruptive editing" when in fact all I did was suggest the idea of a site-wide in-joke. I could've made disruptive edits without asking for approval first. Fuck you, anal-retentive bastards. (Now you can block me for calling you out for what you are.) PatheticManatee (talk) 06:17, 13 March 2013 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Proclaiming admin abuse on a reviewing admin and continuing to insult admins in unblock requests will not get you unblocked. I have also revoked your talk page access. You can make a civil unblock request through WP:BASC. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 06:26, 13 March 2013 (UTC)
