About the author.
Dr. Robert Nyeko Obol was born in December 1971 in Kitgum district. A priest of the catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Gulu . He is the first born of nine children; his parents are Mary Tina Obol and Andrew P.K. Obol. He did all his training to become for the catholic priesthood in his home country Uganda prior to coming to the United States and was ordained on the 18th of August 2001.
He holds a Bachelors Degree in philosophy from Urbaniana University in Rome, a Masters of Arts Degree in Education from Walsh University in Canton, Ohio. And a Master of Arts Degree in Theology and a Doctorate in Ministry from Saint Mary Seminary and Graduate School of Theology in Wickliffe, Ohio. And he also completed one year residential training as a spiritual care provider at the Cleveland Clinic. After his ordination to the priesthood he was assigned to work in Pajule parish in the archdiocese of Gulu. He worked in the place as an associate pastor and later pastor. For the three years served in the parish before coming to the United states of America, there were only five months of peace and the rest of was marked by war and violence since the LRA that had taken refuge in the South Sudan for a short while that had already been at war with the Uganda government for the past 20 years returned in large number and to fight the Ugandan government and Pajule parish suddenly became the epicenter of the conflict. The Daily life and lessons from a warzone is a book that he has spent three years working on in which Dr. Robert Nyeko Obol talks the events that almost occurred on a daily basis in Pajule that he hopes a reader will get a sense of what life is like for those who live in a warzone. And above all, he also reflects on the role of faith, providence, community and reconciliation. And the enduring life lessons from working in such an environment.
Dr. Robert Nyeko Obol for the past one and half years has been residing in Toledo and has been involved doing pastoral ministry to the sick.
