Adminship
[edit]Would you like to be an admin here? =Nichalp «Talk»= 19:34, 29 October 2005 (UTC)
Here it is: Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Pamri. You'd need to reset the time to when you accept the nomination. After you answer the questions, it will have to be put up on WP:RFA. Remember, I'll be throwing you to the sharks, and the next week you will be closely scrutinised. But I guess you'll come out on tops. :) =Nichalp «Talk»= 10:28, 30 October 2005 (UTC)
You're a sysop!
[edit]Hey there. I'm pleased to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator! You've volunteered to do housekeeping duties that normal users sadly cannot participate in. Sysops can't do a lot of stuff: They can't delete pages just like that (except patent nonsense like "aojt9085yu8;3ou"), and they can't protect pages in an edit war they are involved in. But they can delete random junk, ban anonymous vandals, delete pages listed on Votes for deletion (provided there's a consensus) for more than one week, protect pages when asked to, and keep the few protected pages that exist on Wikipedia up to date.
Almost anything you can do can be undone, but please take a look at The Administrators' how-to guide and the Administrators' reading list before you get started (although you should have read that during your candidacy ;). Take a look before experimenting with your powers. Also, please add Administrators' noticeboard to your watchlist, as there are always discussions/requests for admins there. If you have any questions drop me a message at My talk page. Have fun! =Nichalp «Talk»=Congrats!!! I knew you'd make it. Its great you hit a half-century without a single oppose vote! Please also add you name to WP:LA. It's nice sysoping someone I nominated for a change. :) =Nichalp «Talk»= 14:58, 6 November 2005 (UTC)
Congratulations, and you're very welcome! --Merovingian (t) (c) (e) 16:41, 6 November 2005 (UTC)
Congratualtions Pamri, Hope to see more of you in future and thanks for the note --Vyzasatya 17:24, 6 November 2005 (UTC)
Congrats Pamri, and happy mopping. :) Jacqui ★ 17:32, 6 November 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for the jalebis :) . I didn't know you were a b'crat in the kn wikipedia. As for nominating... well I'm pretty choosy on who I nominate. You're the fourth and all have been runaway successes. So time to celebrate with a new FA from your side. Which one is it going to be? =Nichalp «Talk»= 18:07, 6 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit]- Hi Pamri. Congrats on becoming an admin. I was away from the Internet almost all of last week. Will catch up with wiki in a couple of days. :-) -- Sundar \talk \contribs 11:08, 7 November 2005 (UTC)

Congrats!! and unrelated concern
[edit]Hi Pamri, Congrats!! More than the mini-para I wrote, I'm happy that I put ur rfa on the WP:INWNB as I wanted to see you cross 50 votes. btw, an anon IP in the series 70.x.x.x who claims to be User:Nirav.maurya sometimes, but doesn't sign-in with his id, has either started or contributed massively to Indian Muslim Nationalism, Indian nationalism, Hindu nationalism, Hindutva, Gandhism, Mahatma Gandhi, Hindu Rashtra, Criticism of Hinduism, Hindu, Hinduism, Contemporary Hindu movements, Narhari Parikh, Ravi Shankar Vyas, Mohanlal Pandya, Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha, Syama Prasad Mookerjee and Jawaharlal Nehru. Previously, his edits used to be POV, now it is more a case of original research (WP:NOR), imo. I've not been able to convince him to sign-in and engage in constructive debate, nor hv I been able to go through all his edits. Yet, I'm just maintaining a log of articles that he is contributing to, 'coz I want to give him some more time. I find this also difficult to do as it involves tracking dynamic IPs and looking at the contribs of each such IP through diffs. However, I feel that unless some mechanism is devised, it'd be very difficult to stop him from engaging in this activity - imo, he gave up signing in 'coz the heat was getting to him as can be seen on Talk:Mahatma Gandhi, Talk:Gandhism and much later, my talk page (the last was without signing-in). I felt you may be interested in having a look at these articles. Thanks, --Gurubrahma 17:08, 8 November 2005 (UTC)
- Hi Pamri, thanks a lot for your response. The only reason why I haven't yet filed a RFC was that I wanted to give him some time. I just noticed that he added the POV tag to British Raj with some specious reason on the talkpage. I'll inform Bhadani as per your suggestion. With regards to FA, I seem to be suffering from a writer's block ;) I wanted to work on Jagjivan Ram as it has lot of sensational elements, and nominated it for INCOTW. But with the slow progress of Military History of India, the INCOTW seems to have died. --Gurubrahma 17:32, 8 November 2005 (UTC)
- Wonderful that you are an Admin! I really look forward to more interactions. Autumnleaf 13:26, 9 November 2005 (UTC)
