Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 01:21, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Pakistonomy, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Ibex Global, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! :Jay8g [VTE] 02:12, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Pakistonomy. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Ibex Global, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Pakistonomy. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Pakistonomy|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Jalen Folf (Bark[s]) 23:11, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Jalen Folf. You are indeed mistaken, there is no compensation at all. I am merely an analyst of the Economies of the South Asian region namely Pakistan, hence my shock to see false information information on several leading companies on Wikipedia. Wikipedia is supposed to be a space where such fact checking backed up by references is to be welcomed.
My edits backed up by citations are purely made to refine the articles on companies in the South Asian market as well as to remove any incorrect information. Pakistonomy (talk) 00:23, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at TRG Pakistan. Veldsenk (talk) 06:26, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You may be blocked from editing without further warning if you make any further edits without responding to the inquiry you received regarding undisclosed paid editing. Veldsenk (talk) 06:27, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.

Hi Cullen328,
This block is indeed an error.
Neither my username or purpose indicate any "paid contribution". My interest is in the Economic Landscape of Pakistan, and all the organizations & events related to it. My purpose is to simply refine those pages which have either factual or grammatical errors.
As you've seen, I've been editing for a while now and have refined several Pakistan-related pages. Whether it's publishing and citing the latest news on the Pakistan Steel Mills shutting down or any grammatical errors on other pages, my edits are particulary specific to Pakistan, not to any company or organization.
My edits on the specific page of TRG Pakistan, which has been cited as the reason for my "paid contributions", had time and again been vandalized by random IPs who had added incorrect information on the Company's Financials, its Ownership Structure & its History, as well as removing any edits by anyone who attempted to refine the page. I had sent a request to protect the page from such vandalism some time ago, yet I saw that no work had been done due to large amount of requests.
I have no doubt in my mind now that those random IPs were indeed the user Veldsenk, who has followed the same MO as the random IPs who vandalized the page & removed cited information. He had recently threatened me with a block and you as an Administrator unfortunately followed through without reviewing the facts
Therefore, please fix this error immediately Pakistonomy (talk) 18:33, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
