Help me

[edit]

Dear aministrators,

I sent a message to ask if you could identify who had changed my wikipedia page as it stated that: until recently worked for HMRC. I am trying to identify who made these changes with maybe an IP address as having a few problems with 2 people at work. A Mrs [details removed] and a Mr. [details removed]. Can you identify if either of these people have entered my wikipedia page?

However I sent a vandalism request to wikipedia which has been answered by orange mike. I made the necessary changes to my own page but i think Orange Mike has got a bit confused. I asked if he could identify who had updated my address and he thinks it is me and removed my history. I was the last person to update the correct info so it needs to be put back on.

So could you do the following. 1. Put my football career history back on wikipedia. 2. Check if a Mrs [details removed] made any changes to my wikipedia page by locating an IP address. If so let me in an e-mail on [details removed] 3. Unblock what Orange Mike has done as he has given me the user the warning not the persons mentioned above, Maybe lock my page so I am the only person to make admendments with wikipedia administrators when logged on.

thanks Paddy Atkinson — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paddy atkinson (talkcontribs) 14:48, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved your query from Template talk:Help me to this page, your "talk page", since this a better place for this kind of discussion. I have removed your email address to protect your privacy, and removed the names of various other people to protect their privacy.
I am not an administrator here, but I believe I can answer your points.
1.Your football career can only be documented at Wikipedia if the details have already been published in reliable sources such as newspapers, books and respected websites. It is very important that readers should be able to check what they read here by following up the references.
2.No. You can look in the history of the page using the "View history" tab or this direct link, and this will show you the user names and IP addresses that have edited the page. No other information is available, either to you or to me. See the privacy policy.
3.No. I fully agree with the messages left by the two editors, Bbb23 (talk · contribs) and Orangemike (talk · contribs). Content for Wikipedia articles is not normally contributed by the person named in the article, and the page cannot be "locked" to show only your preferred version. Please read Wikipedia:Autobiographies. -- John of Reading (talk) 15:25, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
