Conflict of Interest: Moshe Shapoff

[edit]

Information icon Hello, PPerilly. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Moshe Shapoff, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.

There is no conflict of interest.
Thank you for supporting this editing, I updated the facts on this, that was all. 5.181.72.35 (talk) 10:23, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Could you explain then why the summary for your first 13 November edit was "Edited on request of Moshe Shapoff detailing more what does"?
Vegantics (talk) 14:32, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It needed some refining as it was originally drafted by someone who translated the text so the English needed to be refined, showing more about what he does. Nothing conflicts and all is accurate. 5.181.72.35 (talk) 14:34, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you have an external relationship with the subject of an article, that is a conflict of interest. Intentionally or not, editors with a conflict of interest can be biased in how they present information, even when it is factual in nature. As you can see in the message above, there is a procedure for working with Wikipedia articles where you have a conflict of interest.

I work with Moshe the person. I think you need to speak to Mr Shapoff. I can ask the editor who originally drafted it to make the edits, if this is what is required, but perhaps show the person who originally edited it, as they will concur the contents are accurate and should be in it 5.181.72.35 (talk) 14:43, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Does the person who originally edited it also work with Mr. Shapoff?
Vegantics (talk) 15:20, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No - Don't know him. But I can ask Moshe if he knows him and ask him to reach out to request the changes. 5.181.72.35 (talk) 15:21, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So here's the thing, if Mr. Shapoff knows the original editor of the article, that editor also should not be making edits. If you, Mr. Shapoff, or anyone who knows him wants to make changes to the article, you should follow Wikipedia's policies by disclosing a conflict of interest and making edit requests at Talk:Moshe Shapoff.
For what it's worth, I found your edits to be promotional in tone and you did not include citations for some of the things you wrote, which is why I undid your edits. Any changes that you request need to meet the standards of Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons. If you need additional assistance, you can ask for help at the Wikipedia:Teahouse.
