Welcome

[edit]

Hi, POnju, Welcome to Wikipedia!

You can help improve the articles listed below! This list updates frequently, so check back here for more tasks to try. (See Wikipedia:Maintenance or the Task Center for further information.)

Help counter systemic bias by creating new articles on important women.

Help improve popular pages, especially those of low quality.

If you need help on how to title new articles check out Wikipedia:Naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and The FAQ , plus if you can't find your answer there, check The Village pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or The Reference Desk (for general questions)! There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page.

Additional Tips:

Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!

  • If you made any edits before you got an account, you might be interested in assigning those to your username.
  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes, like &#126&#126~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too.
  • You may want to add yourself to the New User Log
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.

Happy Wiki-ing. Xuanwu 03:24, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Additional Note

[edit]

Next time you make a major edit to an article, as you did with pOnju, first explain why you are making said edit. Bold edits without explanations is bad Wiki etiquette, which is why your particular edits were mostly reverted by me in the interest of preserving the version that's been developed over time. You did, however, add a few notes of interest and I've preserved those. Not a bad first foray, however. Just remember to use the talk page to get consensus first before such a bold edit. Xuanwu 03:24, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and also be aware that if you really are Henry, you shouldn't edit the pOnju page per WP:AUTO. Other normally preserved pages have been deleted because of the person they're about editing the page too heavily. Just an FYI. Xuanwu 03:28, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'll repeat since you missed my message before: by Wiki rules (WP:AUTO), you ARE NOT allowed to edit pOnju. You also risk causing the pOnju article to be deleted as vanity by doing so, just as other webcomic articles have been deleted for having been edited by their creators. So, PLEASE, follow proper Wiki rules and DO NOT EDIT THE PAGE. I've undone your previous edits because of this. Xuanwu 01:57, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Please see pOnju's talk page before you edit again. As I explain to you already, you can't edit the article directly. You can, however, explain what edits you want to make on the talk page. Obviously, I'm not going to let you make personal attacks on me with the pOnju page. At the same time, I don't mind you adding additional factoids (like the Were Kitty meme). But, again, by doing so on your own you're increasing the risk that the people who deleted OO and ROMB's wiki pages may delete pOnju's page because of your edits. And it's not good for any of us if the whole page is removed. If you insist on disregarding Wiki's policies, I will have to call for dispute resolution. Given that you used my Wiki edits as a (partial) reason to ban me from the forum, that constitutes a personal attack under current guidelines and could be used by a Wiki admin to ban you from Wiki entirely, as has happened to others. I'd rather not see you barred from Wiki. Xuanwu 17:33, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

POnju

I have submitted an RfC against you. Post your own comments in your defense. Then the administrators will decide whether or not you should be banned from Wikipedia for your actions. Xuanwu 20:18, 28 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As I mentioned in the RfC, and on your talk page, this action won't give you the satisfaction you crave Xuanwu. He doesn't care about Wikipedia, except in the context of preventing distortions and inaccuracies about himself and his creation.Jonathan888 (talk) 21:02, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on the contributor; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Canadian-Bacon t c e 05:11, 2 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Canadian-Bacon - please note that this user was a typical website creator trying to defend what he perceived as attacks and distortions in an article about the website he created. In the web-comic 'notable' article discussion page this is listed as being a very common occurance. The article in question has been deleted as non-notable and having talked to this user privately I don't believe he'll be back: his whole interest in Wikipedia was preventing lies about himself and his creation being perpetuated. Note also that the edit war in question was between the site creator and persons who were previously banned from the said website.Jonathan888 (talk) 21:00, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
