Carlos A. Coello Coello moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Carlos A. Coello Coello, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 03:07, 7 March 2020 (UTC)
Ways to improve Scott Kirkpatrick
Hello, PK650,
Thank you for creating Scott Kirkpatrick.
I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
Thank you for your new article on Scott Kirkpatrick, but please see WP:NACADEMIC and WP:EXIST. More evidence is needed that this individual has received proper notice, including a citation to the statement about all his citations. As I can say from some personal experience, Google's number of citations could include appearances in databases, and not just the classic type of "citation" in which another researcher specifically mentioned an earlier work.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Doomsdayer520}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

- I think you should probably go over WP:ACADEMIC in more detail. He's a full professor at a good university, and his impact in the field is easily gauged by going through his bibliography and doing some research in computer science particularly. He has many articles with thousands and hundreds of citations each. Yes, your point about databases is valid, but those cases are quite simple to identify with a bit of cross-searching and looking at other metrics. This researcher is simply well known. His work on optimization and its impact in quantum computing are of note. In any case I've slightly improved the page. Best, PK650 (talk) 21:47, 8 March 2020 (UTC)
New page reviewer granted
Hi PK650. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:
- Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
- If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
- Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. signed, Rosguill talk 02:26, 13 March 2020 (UTC)
Questionable new page review decisions
Overall your reviews were good, but I wanted to draw your attention to a few of the articles you approved:
- Reba Buhr, I think that this article should probably be nominated for deletion, the only significant coverage is in unreliable sources. Voice actors generally have rather long filmographies, which isn't necessarily indicative of having GNG-level coverage the way that a regular actor would be covered by NACTOR.
- Considering Lily (album), other than AllMusic, I don't know that the sources are reliable. I would have at a minimum tagged it as {{notability}}, and would consider nominating it for deletion.
- Mari Spirito, make sure to tag articles with {{bare urls}} if applicable.
I'd be interested if you have any additional comments on the first two cases. Otherwise, feel free to reach out if you need any help or advice while reviewing articles. signed, Rosguill talk 02:35, 13 March 2020 (UTC)
- @Rosguill: Hi! Thank you for the above. Re the first one, I tagged the page for notability, and seemed to have left the "mark as reviewed" bock ticked, instead of just tagging it. I'm still getting used to the tool: in my opinion it shouldn't tick it by default but I am being more careful now. As for the second, the three sources provided seemed (AllMusic, Crosswalk and Cross Rhythms) to satisfy the MUSIC notability criteria, but that is of course debatable. Lastly, I did tag Mari Spirito with a linkrot template on the 02/16, but as you can appreciate user MarnetteD undid that that same day! Thank you again for your comments, and I'll make sure to contact you if in doubt. Best, PK650 (talk) 04:49, 14 March 2020 (UTC)
- I would suggest using WP:TWINKLE instead of the page curation tool for tag placing. It prevents you from accidentally reviewing things, and also formats things better with {{Multiple issues}}. For Considering Lily, the relevant MUSIC criteria are dependent on the reliability of the sources in question. AllMusic is good, but the other two are questionable and not listed at WP:ALBUM/SOURCE, which is pretty comprehensive and actually includes a lot of Christian music sites. signed, Rosguill talk 05:03, 14 March 2020 (UTC)
- @Rosguill: Thank you for the useful suggestion! As for the album, you'll in fact find that both other sources are listed in WP:CM/S! So there you go. Best, PK650 (talk) 03:55, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
