My RFA
I'd like to extend thanks to yet another three-letter name that supported my 64-2 bid for adminship. — FREAK OF NURxTURE (TALK) 07:13, Dec. 17, 2005

Please do your job more carefully.
Please take the time to review the Rubin Carter page more thoroughly. I did NOT "remove" matrial, I moved it to a more suitable location, specifically the "Aftermath" section. Since this dealt with a film made more than thirty years after the murders, that seems IMHO, a more fitting location. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.116.240.11 (talk • contribs)
- I'm very sorry for the oversight. However, a proper edit summary would have prevented the misunderstanding - please remember to use those. Also, please sign your comments by typing four tildes: [1] Thanks. PJM 15:06, 20 December 2005 (UTC
Barbie Doll Page
Sorry about the error on the Barbie page, it was due to an uploading crash on my computer. Ianmacm 16:57, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

It would be appreciated if you explained why you reverted my replacement of "modern day activities" with "recent activities". If you actually read the edit and considered it, and then reverted I don't mind. But if you reverted without actually considering the change, then I would advise you to slow down. Cheers. 168.209.98.35 21:11, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
- And I would advise you to refer to the correct user. If you actually look at my last rv, it went from "recent" to "modern-day". Really though, it's not a tremendous issue considering the vandalism blitz on that article today. You could always restore that part. PJM 21:22, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
- Perhaps I was unclear above, I was the user who changed it from "modern day" to "recent" and you reverted it back to "modern day", and that was what I was enquiring about. In any case, keep up the good work, your efforts at keeping Wikipedia free from vandalism are appreciated. 168.209.98.35 21:31, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for your support on my request for adminship.
The final outcome was (80/3/0), so I am now an administrator. I was flattered by the level of support and the comments, so I'm under real pressure not to disappoint, thus if you have any queries, suggestions or problems with any of my actions as an admin then please leave me a note --pgk(talk) 11:41, 8 January 2006 (UTC)My RfA
I took a crack at making this into a stub that is not a waste of time. Take a look and see what you think. Youngamerican 18:25, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
- No worries, as I took no offense whatsoever. I was just elaborating on my position, which I had failed to do in my earlier comments on the AfD. Cheers. Youngamerican 18:56, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
Thank you!
Thanks for supporting me on my Rfa, PJM! I appreciate your trust. The puppy is now an Admin (final tally 58/7/2) Please let me know if there is anything I can ever do to assist you. KillerChihuahua?!? 17:40, 14 January 2006 (UTC) |
rv?
I'm not sure what was objectionable about my edit of Apple Jacks, unless it was to edit the page too many times within the space of a couple minutes. I fixed some punctuation and capitalization and added some ™ symbols, along with one phrase about possible confusion between applejack and Apple Jacks. I notice that one of my edits to applejack has been similarly reverted, although not to the state it was in prior to all of my edits. If you could clarify this for me I'd appreciate it. Thanks. 66.215.85.177 19:58, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
Thank you.
Thank you for your warm welcome, and if I may, complement you on an excellent choice of letters for your username! - JPM | 02:22, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
RfA Thanks
Thanks
Thanks on the AfD! I have a bad habit of forgetting to sign my posts on such matters (and on these matters, for that matter) and I can see from your pages that this a big thing for me. These were also my first AfD noms so I was a little hazy on the protocols. Keep on keepin' on... Wencer 00:17, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
Question
Can you point me to the official policy on blanking one's own talk page? Thanks.
Ah - Just as I suspected - there is no policy against blanking ones own talk page:
- "Deleting the comments of other users from article Talk pages, or deleting entire sections thereof, is generally considered vandalism. Removing personal attacks is often considered legitimate, and it is considered acceptable to archive an overly long Talk page to a separate file and then remove the text from the main Talk page. The above does not apply to the user's own Talk page, where users generally are permitted to remove outside comments at their discretion."
Please refrain from vandalizing my talk page in the future. Thank you. HasNoClue 04:10, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
- It's not a policy (I never said that it was), but a strongly recommended guideline, especially when you have been issued a vandalism warning. See here: [2]. I hope that helps. For the record: leaving constructive advice on a user's talk page is never considered vandalism. PJM 04:28, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
- Actually there is no guideline for blanking the sort of comments that I blanked - "Actively erasing personal messages without replying (if a reply would be appropriate or polite) will probably be interpreted as hostile." - I was not erasing personal messages whose authors wanted replies, but rather a standard message sent to new registered users and a vandalism warning (which was a newbie mistake that I promptly fixed - assume good faith, remember). Finally, leaving constructive advice on my page was not vandalism - reverting my perfectly legitimate edits of it was. --HasNoClue 04:33, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
- (Note: The last sentence of the guideline paragraph partially quoted above reads:This is especially true for vandalism warnings - removing them from one's talk page is also considered vandalism.) PJM 12:52, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
- I always assume good faith; that's why I took the time to suggest to you archiving. Restoring warnings is certainly not vandalism but removing them is. Anyway, happy editing. PJM 04:51, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
- I suggest you reaquaint yourself with the rules and guidelines before you edit other users' talk pages. But thank you for realizing your mistake. --HasNoClue 04:57, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
- I'll manage just fine; thanks for the suggestion, anyway. PJM 05:06, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
