File source problem with File:GuyPResentEcuad3.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:GuyPResentEcuad3.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

File permission problem with File:GuyPResentEcuad3.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:GuyPResentEcuad3.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, BOT-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate your file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 03:01, 10 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of Interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, PESchneider. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Guy McPherson, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 12:29, 14 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If by Conflict of Interest, do you mean one cannot correct, add, or delete false or wrong, or update information on a page that mis/represents a BRP? Or that only negative articles are allowed to be linked on a BLP? Is that Wikipedia policy? How about enlisting actual neutral editors to asses the neutrality of the edits made by me or by Guy McPherson? Or by anyone else that tries to edit and correct the many flaws in this BLP? I only see a conflict of interest by editors who remove those corrections, or remove articles that do not misrepresent McPherson BLP nor are for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting. I request a full team of editors unrelated to GREEN C, to assess the neutrality of Green C’s edits. Green C has consistently removed any neutral or positive articles about McPherson. He removed a photo that had been on the page for years when he suddenly decided it was a conflict of interest. That leaves one to suspect him of conflict of interest. Who is his employer? Will photos of other people in tshirts with logos also be removed from other pages? I refer to extinction rebellion photos which Green C may also misconstrue as COI issue. This could become a legal issue as it seems Wikipedia promotes the misrepresentation of an individual on his BRP. PESchneider 9:13am 14 May 2019 New York.

"This could become a legal issue as it seems Wikipedia promotes the misrepresentation of an individual on his BRP."

Wikipedia has a very strong policy against anything that could be construed as a legal threat against the organization itself or another editor. Please see WP:NLT. If you don't retract this, you're risking being blocked. BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 15:58, 14 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of Interest: Right Way to Proceed

[edit]

PESchneider, I would strongly suggest you read the information cited in the conflict of interest section I posted above. In particular, I'd highlight:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);

If you have edits you think should be made to the article, the right way to proceed is to propose those changes on the article's talk page: Talk:Guy McPherson, so that neutral editors can consider and (hopefully) implement them. BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 15:52, 14 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
