taxobox

[edit]

The standard is to put only major ranks in the taxobox down to the major rank just above the topic, then minor ranks from there to the topic. The Feliformia you added to many taxoboxes breaks this convention. I'll be removing it. - UtherSRG (talk) 09:53, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You have misconstrued my statement above. I did not say “The standard is to put only major ranks in the taxobox” and end my statement there. I continued on to say more, about when and where it is appropriate to put lesser ranks. Please take this to talk:carnivora where it can be addressed by more than just you and I. I will revert it to the state before you touched it. That was where it was at before the break in consensus. You will have to convince folks that the edit should be made, not the other way around. - UtherSRG (talk) 04:25, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Oz!

I have seen your contribution to the "big cats" field and I must say KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

Some updates on your article about the "Arabian Leopard". There are 2 communities of leopards in Israel: one in the Negev – 6-10 leopards. The second in the Judean Desert near Ein Gedi, which counted in the 1980s 10-15 leopards (quite a lot for this small area) but doe to poisoning, disease and old age only one survived (the male "Harition" -16 years old- sun of the famous female "Shlomtzion" that died at the age of 15). Recent research claims there is another leo (probably female) and mybe also cubs in this area.

Between the 2 areas there are few water resource, so the possibility that some leopards move between those regions is low.

As an Israeli citizen, I must inform you that "Palestine" had cease to exist 59 (minus 4 days) years ago. (I am unaware of reports on leopards in the West Bank). 89.139.26.66 17:26, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
