Salting of Lightworker
[edit]Regarding this post at Talk:Lightworker:
I Am having issues submitting information to the lightworker page. I had some information removed for copyright reasons.
I now have new content but can not access the page. What can I do? --Outelligent (talk) 15:16, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
The article name, Lightworker, has been 'salted' - that is protected from recreation, as it is an article that has been repeatedly recreated and deleted as unsuitable. As advised by Ttonyb1, you can create the article at User:Outelligent/Lightworker, and if it meets the criteria for inclusion, an admin can remove the protection and have it moved into main.
However, I would advise consulting the Welcome links, above, before proceeding - in particular, Your First Article.
Also, please do not continue to post messages at Talk:Lightworker - as the talk page of a non-existent article, it is subject to speedy deletion. (WP:CSD#G8)
If you want further help, post a reply here and place the text {{Talkback|Outelligent}}~~~~ on on my talk page to let me know you have replied. (This page is on my watchlist, so I should catch it anyway, but just in case.)
Alternatively, you can place {{helpme}} on this page, followed by a question and any of our helpers, not just me, can assist. Another option is to talk to us live in the Wikipedia help channel by visiting here or here. ∙ AJChamtalk 15:53, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
New Article Suggested
[edit]Concerning the lightworker page.
I am now proposing this article User:Outelligent/Lightworker for submission providing it meets the criteria for inclusion. |
I am not sure how I get the article moved?
--Outelligent (talk) 17:29, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
It does not meet the general notability guideline, as explained in the notice. Articles need references to reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Please see WP:FIRST. Chzz ► 17:35, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
I have now added references, I am still unsure how I can get this article moved? --Outelligent (talk) 17:59, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
- The current page is yet another copyright violation, this time of http://www.care2.com/c2c/groups/announcement.html?gpp=16195&pst=1228940&posts=.
- Be aware that close paraphrasing does not prevent this being the case. It would be necessary to rewrite the information in your own words - however, I suggest that this would be a waste of your time, as the sources you provide are not adequate, and it seems unlikely that the subject passes the notability guidelines.
- I'm sorry, but I think it may be better if you turn your attentions elsewhere. There are many, many articles on which you could help out, and it could be worth getting some practice making small edits before attempting to create an article from scratch. That will give you time to become more familiar with WP policies and customs.

Your MedCab Request
[edit]Hello! You had requested dispute resolution at the Mediation Cabal. However, this does not appear to be a dispute between you and another user, but rather a case (as you've explained yourself, in the request for mediation) of a new user not fully understanding policy or what is actually expected of him. That being the case, you don't need a mediator, just a friendly face! =P
Basically, in order to meet Wikipedia's requirements for inclusion, material needs to be documented by the types of sources you would use in research for a school paper. These can be academic books, media outlets (newspapers, etc.) or any of a variety of other sources. Material also cannot be copied from another place- you have to rewrite whatever you want to put on Wikipedia in your own words and from a third-person, unbiased perspective. I never saw the Lightworker article before its deletion, so I don't know exactly what you were going for, but if you have any questions or need any help, I'll do my best to be of assistance. Let me know! --Moralis (talk) 14:10, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
