I saw you blanked the draft on T. J. Otzelberger. It seemed pretty close to publication to me; I could help you with the remaining issues. If you really want to have it deleted, I'll tag it so that an admin deletes the page. Huon (talk) 22:21, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I definitely need some help. I had requested that the title for the article be changed "Thomas John Otzelberger" to "T.J. Otzelberger". When that did not get changed, I blanked out the page and copied the content to an article named "TJ Otzelberger". I have been working on this for several weeks and not having much success. Would it be possible for you to look at the article entitled "TJ Otzelberger" to see if it is satisfactory. I now have as many references as I do sentences. I don't know what else to do. I am trying to create this article for my son and I am really frustrated. I would appreciate any assistance you could give me

Thanks,

I'll give it a look over the weekend. Huon (talk) 01:46, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've done some copyediting and removed several claims I couldn't verify from the given sources, as well as sources that didn't mention Otzelberger or were otherwise unreliable (ie Wikipedia itself). I'd say Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/TJ Otzelberger is ready for review and should pass due to multiple rarther detailed news reports on Otzelberger, but because I've edited it quite a bit, I'd prefer if someone else did the actual review. If you agree, please add {{subst:submit}} to the very top (or tell me so I can submit it for you). Huon (talk) 23:09, 13 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the assist. There was only one slight change I had to make. You typed that in 2003 TJ was promoted to academic director. I t waqs actually Athletic Director.
Ooops, that's what I get from not proofreading closely enough. Thanks for finding the error! Huon (talk) 00:18, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A beer for you!

Congratulations on the acceptance of your first article! Good work! Huon (talk) 02:47, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the assist and the beer!!! After this experience, I need one, LOL.

I moved one sentence for readability and saved again, and added the {{subst:submit}} to the top of the page, but it doesn't say it is waiting for approval. Is there anything else I need to do?

The article has already been accepted and moved into the main article namespace (it's at T. J. Otzelberger now, no longer at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/TJ Otzelberger); there's no need to re-submit it (in fact the submit template doesn't work in the article namespace the way it does for drafts; I removed it). You can continue to improve the article at will without waiting for approval.
On an entirely unrelated note, you seem to be using categories to reply to messages on your talk page. That's not what categories are meant for, and it will look rather strange (compare this revision of your talk page, where your reply is a red link). You can edit the relevant section directly via the "edit" button at the right of the section headline. For comparison, I just added categories like Category:Iowa State Cyclones men's basketball coaches to the T. J. Otzelberger article so it's categorized among similar articles.
