Over Linking

[edit]

Hi, Thank you for your edits, but it would be worth you reading the guidance here about where and when you should wikilink words. Thanks. Escape Orbit (Talk) 11:10, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

After receiving that message you have still continued to add unsuitable wikilinks. As a general rule, a link should be added only if the article targetted by the link either contains further information about the subject of the article containing the link, or explains the meaning of a word or expression in the article containing the link. Nobody reading the article Frette is likely to need to look up what "France" means in order to understand content of that article, nor does the article France contain any further information about Fette, so there is no justification for linking to the article France. On the other hand someone reading the article Frette might well need to look up Monza, so a link to the article Monza is reasonable; however, there was already a link to Monza, so you did not need to add another one. Unnecessay links don't merely serve no useful purpose, they can actually be harmful, because research has shown that the more unhelpful links there are in an article the less likely it is that readers will find the helpful ones. • You are still continuing with the same disruptive editing. In fact the substantial majority of your editing consists of overlinking, in many cases absurd overlinking. Thanking editors for their messages and then ignoring them is no use. If you continue in the same way you will be blocked from editing by an administrator.
