nominating for GA

[edit]

Hi Oregonian, welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you wanted to nominate The Yew Tree Ball for Good Article status. At that page, you'll see some instructions for how to do that properly--adding it to the list manually will throw off the bot that maintains the page. I've removed the nomination for now, but feel free to renominate properly.

Glancing at the article, though, I should warn you that the article is almost certain to need some more work before meeting the Good Article criteria. First, it seems to largely lack referencing; second, it appears to closely paraphrase the one source that is given, with very minimal changes to the wording. You can read more detail at WP:Paraphrase for why this is a problem. That page also proposes some ways to avoid this issue. The best solution would be to find more sources on this topic and meld their information; that way you can avoid mirroring any one source sentence-for-sentence. I've added a template atop the page for now to indicate the problem, but this can be removed when the issue is resolved.

All the best in further editing this article and others! Please drop a note on my talk page if you have any questions or if there's ever any way I can help. -- Khazar2 (talk) 06:24, 27 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that The Dancing Class has similar issues, so please take a look at that one as well. Thanks. -- Khazar2 (talk) 06:33, 27 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Incomplete DYK nomination

[edit]

Hello! Your submission of Template:Did you know nominations/The Yew Tree Ball at the Did You Know nominations page is not complete; see step 3 of the nomination procedure. If you do not want to continue with the nomination, tag the nomination page with {{db-g7}}, or ask a DYK admin. Thank you. DYKHousekeepingBot (talk) 04:51, 28 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
