Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in Enter Shikari‎. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Your linkspam in the following articles has also been reverted: Tegan and Sara, Hilltop Hoods, Tim Rogers, Jamie T, Bridezilla (band), Gallows (band), Def Wish Cast, Gyroscope (band), Guru (rapper), Sum 41. Precious Roy (talk) 10:13, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: your comment on my talk page

[edit]

You added links to the same site to 11 different articles, which meets Wikipedia's definition of spam, regardless of your affiliation (or lack thereof) with channelv.com.au. Please read WP:EL for the guidelines governing external links. Precious Roy (talk) 23:51, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I refer to the guidelines:

What are appropriate links? "Sites with other meaningful, relevant content that is not suitable for inclusion in an article, such as reviews and interviews."

How do those links not meet the criteria?

  • From WP:SPAM:
"There are certain stylistic behaviors that will say "spam!" loud and clear to anyone who's watching:
  • Adding the same link to many articles. The first person who notices you doing this will go through all your recent contributions with an itchy trigger finger on the revert button. And that's not much fun."
...and I was that first person. Precious Roy (talk) 22:25, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
