File permission problem with File:Abhijeet Gholap.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Abhijeet Gholap.jpg, which you've attributed to http://www.optrascan.com/leadership-team.html. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 00:38, 26 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Optrajennifer. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Abhijeet Gholap, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies.

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 22:51, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Abhijeet Gholap ‎. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Hello Optrajennifer. Your edits look as if you are being paid , such as the edit you made to Abhijeet Gholap ‎. Paid promotion is an especially egregious type of conflict of interest (COI)
Paid articles should be submitted through the articles for creation process. If you are receiving or expect to receive money for your edits, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post the disclosure on your user page at User:Optrajennifer. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Optrajennifer|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}.
If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. If you are being paid, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, please do not edit further until you answer this message.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Abhijeet Gholap, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ~ Winged BladesGodric 06:59, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict)
  1. Your username suggests an affiliation with the company OptraSCAN.
  2. Your only edits are about the founder of said company, evidence of a single-purpose account.
  3. There is off-wiki evidence that contradicts your assertion.
Please reconsider your response. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 07:57, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Oh yes like that yes i am an employee of the organisation i thought the meaning was i am taking money to write articles which is not the case. I believe Abhijeet Gholap has done good contributions to society and his biographic page should be there as people search him and want to know him online. I apologize for not disclosing this earlier as you rightly said this is a single purpose account. Please guide me as my orginal draft was deleted and i donot want to get blocked as a writer shall i post the same draft that was accepted in 2016?

Also i am ready to disclose employer, client, and affiliation if that is required kindly guide me how to do this.

~~~~ Optrajennifer (talk) 14:49, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I think you should still declare yourself as a paid editor, since you are an employee of this company. We have no way of knowing for sure if you are editing while you are on the job, or on your own time. Please look at the {{paid}} template and place it on your userpage (User:Optrajennifer).
Doing this will demonstrate that you are being transparent about your affiliation to the company, and give assurances to other editors that you are editing in good faith. By making this disclosure, you will find others more willing to help you. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 05:16, 18 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot sure will do that. Please check my draft as I have now added {{paid}} template. What shall i do so that my article will get published fast. ~~~~ Optrajennifer (talk)
Confirming that Optrajennifer has put the PAID template on her page and on the Talk page of the draft article about Gholap. David notMD (talk) 11:00, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Please note new location of your content so you can improve it rather than it being deleted. MatthewVanitas (talk) 08:13, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi i now see that my article is deleted. Please help ~~ Please help me here, my Wikipedia page is been deleted. The changes have been done in the content. I would appreciate if you could review the draft and help me in publishing it.Optrajennifer (talk) 11:15, 20 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Not deleted - it is in draft. You have time to work on it. It appears when you search on Draft:Abhijeet Gholap. I shortened it a bit to make it read less promotional. I recommend that before you submit it to Articles for Creation (which means that it will be reviewed by an Administrator before being published, a process that can take weeks), you improve all of the references, as the format is wrong. Minimally, what you need is three valid, independent references about Abhi's film career. Not interviews, not blogs, not his own or his company website, not just passing mention of him or companies. Good luck. David notMD (talk) 10:50, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Non COI editing
[edit]
Jennifer, Do you plan on editing on any subjects not related to your employer? Toddst1 (talk) 13:31, 20 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi currently i do not plan on editing on any other subjects not related to my employer. But i may wish to do that in future ~~Optrajennifer(talk)
The subject of your article is non-notable by our standards and no amount of editing on your/our's part is going to change the same.So basically, if you can't choose one of our few million other articles to improve, I'm afraid you do not have a good future over here.~ Winged BladesGodric 11:37, 21 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot for your suggestion. Subject Mr. Abhijeet Gholap is a Indian National award winning film producer (reference quoted in the draft). He is also a successful entrepreneur and is founder of Optra Ventures that consist of OptraSCAN which is part of Cancer MoonShot 2020 project.
Kindly help me to understand Wikipedia standards ~Optrajennifer(talk)
See my note in the earlier section. David notMD (talk) 10:50, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I will add that after trying to look at some of the references, revisit all of them. Some are now dead. Others are nothing more than a mention that Gholap was a producer on a film. What you need are references that are either about Gholap or contain several paragraphs about Gholap. Quality of referencing is more important than quantity.
