Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Editors are expected to treat each other with respect and civility. On this encyclopedia project, editors assume good faith while interacting with other editors, which you did not appear to do at Shroud of Turin. Here is Wikipedia's welcome page, and it is hoped that you will assume the good faith of other editors and continue to help us improve Wikipedia! Be careful not to accuse editors of vandalism for just a *category change*. ⸺(Random)staplers 21:19, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It was not a category change; a user changed the short description to "Forged relic allegedly depicting Jesus" after a large amount of news articles released yesterday regarding the topic. This is not neutral or objective language, the user has never edited the article before, and there was no mention of it in talk nor explanation for why it was done. This seems like mild subtle vandalism, as the short description is only viewed on certain occasions. I did label it "suspected" vandalism, as I can not be sure of that user's intentions. • Let me put this simply: you should not be throwing charged words around like that lightly, and especially without citations.
  • The editor you called out has 3,900 edits. Editing Wikipedia is already tiring on its own with light criticism, MediaWiki is esoteric enough to drive away most people, and you don't need to make it more difficult by calling people out like this.⸺(Random)staplers 03:24, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
