How to get started
There are many things to do on Wikipedia and non-experts, inexperienced users and young students are needed just as much as particularly knowledgeable people. We have barely started even if the count of articles might make you believe otherwise.
If you think you can't help Wikipedia you are most likely wrong. It may take some time (of participating!) until you create your own articles or article-sections but there are many other things people can do to help the project.
- If you're looking for things to do to get started take a look at the Task Center.
The project
I hope that you, as a new Wikipedian, decide to continue contributing to our project: a free, accessible, neutral and global encyclopedia of human knowledge that anyone can edit. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or you can to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. We also have a detailed guide on editing if you're interested.
WikiProjects
You can also join subcommunities, called "WikiProjects", which work together to improve Wikipedia content on specific topics which you might be interested in.
WikiProjects can be found here.
Some suggested WikiProjects: WP Video Games, WP Harry Potter, WP History, WP Science Fiction, WP United States, WP Film, WP Electronic music, WP Philosophy, WP Biography, WP Food and Drink, WP Science.
Happy editing!
