Bulk Edits

Hey Opark77, I've been looking over your contributions to the Sopranos and there is something you might want to consider. Instead of making lots of small edits, it's preferrable (but not required) to do them all at once so people do not have to load and look at so many edits. Also, if you are doing a minor edit, check off the minor edit box at the bottom left of the text box. It saves others time by letting them pass over your edit and focus on more substantial edits. Also, please sign you posts in user and talk pages by clicking the signiture icon at the top of the text box or using two dashes and four tildes. --Orion Minor 15:28, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for the advice Orion - I'll give the sig a shot now!--Opark 77 16:37, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

Zarbon

I have filed a request for comment here and I would appreciate your support, as another editor who has tried to reason with him and failed. Kafziel 04:37, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

I have added my summary of my interactions with Zarbon and endorsed the overall summary. I hope this helps, what will come out of this request for comment? Or what do you hope will result? --Opark 77 10:40, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
Sorry it took me so long to reply; I accidentally took your name off my watchlist so I didn't see your question. The intended result of a request for comment is to bring the problem to the attention of the whole community, rather than just the few people interested in editing a particular page. The intent is usually to demonstrate that other editors share your opinion of the problem (that you're not just being mean or crazy), and often that is enough to give the other editor some perspective. If the problem is not solved there, it will go on to a request for arbitration, which usually results in the user being blocked or permanently banned. Fortunately, it looks like that will not be necessary here, so the request for comment has served its purpose. It's always better when we can all get along. Thanks for your help and support, and good luck in your future work. Kafziel 18:11, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
Thanks Kafziel, no worries about slow reply.--Opark 77 18:34, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

Thank you

And thank you Opark, couldn't have done it without you. It was really a good team effort between me, you, WesleyMullins and anyone else who contributed. If you're a Six Feet Under fan please do not hesitate to help me with that episode guide. I have done like 6 episodes already. Once again, thank you for your help. Sfufan2005 19:43, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

I'm ashamed to say I've never seen a whole one. I watched 10 minutes of a season 3 episode decided I liked it but wanted to see it from the beginning. I do have the first series on the shelf as of 2 weeks ago. I missed it when it started on TV here in the UK and I've been waiting ages for a friend to buy it so I can watch it from the start! --Opark 77 20:34, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

inuse template

Seeing that you are doing a lot of work on The Wire's pages, you may want to use the inuse template. Wikipedia:Edit lock it's good for preventing edit conflicts. Without it if you are doing a half hour edit, someone else coming along and fixing a minor typo could mess up the whole job. For the same reason, I'll stay off the wire pages for a day or so to let you work.JeffStickney

Thanks for the advice Jeff. I'll try to remember to use it. --Opark 77 20:38, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Sopranos

Hi Opark77, thanks for the heads up on that Sopranos entry. I see you put back in the entry in Luxury Lounge (The Sopranos episode) regarding Artie and his cookbook. If you look at the recepie Artie is using, its "rabbit" in Italian; and he pulls out a skinned rabbit from the fridge to cook it; his wife warns him that most people don't like rabbit. This is referring to the rabbit he is shooting at in his garden; so I thought that all of these items should be linked in the summary. Lgreen 22:30, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

The clubber lang reference was spam. That was Mr. T's character in Rocky III
--MistaTee 16:37, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
I had the feeling it was some kind of spam but couldn't place the name. I've seen the Rocky films all once each and that was one time too many for in the case of all but the first! --Opark 77 17:54, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Miscellanea

Bother! You're correct, now I have to change them all. I prefer miscellanea to trivia because trivia is stuff that's not worth bothering with, and hence has no place in an encyclopedia. Rich Farmbrough 13:04 6 June 2006 (UTC).

Big Love

Opark77, if you are into episode summaries of "big love", I will assist. I know its a lot of work and no one has taken up the challenge, just wanted to say I'd help out if you took the lead. Good work on the Sopranos. Lgreen 06:52, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for your compliment. I'm working on The Wire at the moment but I do hope to get some Big Love episode pages done too and will be glad to have someone to tidy up my shoddy work when I get there! --Opark 77 08:11, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Opark 77, just a note: when you're making a large edit to an article, it's preferable to put an {{inuse}} tag on the article, save it, and then edit and save again. It prevents the history from getting filled up with your edits.
Thanks! east.718 17:24, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

Lester Freamon

Thanks for all your contributions to The Wire articles! I do want to know, though, where you found the information that Lester is 30. I always assumed that he was at least 45-50 if not older. And his thirteen years (and four months) spent in the panwshop unit seem to go against him being so young. P.S. Here's the Wire fan userbox: {{User:UBX/Wire}} Andrew Levine 11:32, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Page references for The Wire: Truth Be Told

I think that every inidvidual citation to the Truth Be Told book needs a page reference to go with it. My copy is unfortunately at home in the U.S. (and I am in France for another month). You seem to have it on hand, though. Could you add the page numbers? Thanks. Andrew Levine 13:25, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the page references, I will go about adding them myself. As for the peer review, it's really not that odd; there are many articles up for peer review at a given time, and with limited attention directed towards them, some of the longer reads attract few or no comments. I recommend we leave it up for at least a full week, and maybe two, before bringing it to FAC. Andrew Levine 14:23, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

The Fleshy Part of the Thigh

I have moved The Fleshy Part of the Thigh back to The Fleshy Part of the Thigh (The Sopranos episode). Rather than for purposes of disambiguation the individual episode articles are titled with the show name as per guidelines from the wikiproject:television page. I just wanted to leave a quick note to explain why I moved it back.--Opark 77 07:27, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Lost characters

Thanks for your message. While I don't mind doing the odd copy edit, I'm purposefully trying to take a back seat from the article while season two transmits in the UK (currently, the last episode aired was "Dave"). As I stated on the Talk page, I think the list was better, since any spoilers were left to the individual character pages, rather than the main article. However, I think the rest of the article is shaping up pretty well. I've just copy edited the "Episode structure" section, as it contained info that was either duplicated elsewhere in the article, or pertained to TV shows in general and wasn't notable enough. Hi Owen,

It's already been removed. I only just noticed that someone else already uploaded the same image; it's been replaced with that. Feel free to put the image up for deletion, or whatever. SergeantBolt 01:28, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Namond Brice

Hi Owen, In "The Wire: Connected," which aired on HBO last Sunday, they introduced the school-age characters and there were a couple of good tidbits about them in there. Namond is the son of Wee-Bey and was seen visiting him in jail. They revealed some bits about some of the other characters as well, but I didn't connect the names. One is a foster child with a mind for business (I think that was Randy but I'm not sure), one is living in a really desperate situation and is good with computers (pretty sure it was DuQuan), and the third is the quiet one, and the de facto "leader" of the group. At least three, maybe all four of them, are boxers in Cutty's gym.

Hope this helps! Can't wait for the new season.

J.P.

Lost

I thought that it would be more organised this way so you could clearly see the subheadings at the top of the page in the list but clearly you disagree so I will change it back. -- Sarz 00:33, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Hello: please re-examine the information for the image you tagged. The image is clearly listed under the Screenshot fairuse template ("This image is a screenshot of a copyrighted television program...") and provides the source in the description: "John Locke (played by Terry O'Quinn) holds up the two opposing colors of backgammon checkers in part two of the pilot episode of Lost." This is used in the Lost article to illustrate the thematic element of the colors "black and white", and thus the image falls well within the realm of critical commentary. --LeflymanTalk 17:15, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Opark, please take this with due consideration, I'm sure you consider it "improving the article" to remove images, but I consider it a failure to understand some basic Wikipedia principles. Rather than tagging images you deem not to meet your standards for fair use, perhaps you might consider focusing on actual editing of article in areas you're familiar with. It's clear that the images chosen are discussed in the text, and that the images are identified as to their source. If you feel that's not enough, I'll again suggest: add the missing info yourself. Incidentally, you might want to note that I'm been editing on Wikipedia since 2003. I'm well familiar with policy; stating "Please remember that we assume good faith here at wikipedia" comes off as pedantic. (You may want to note that WP:AGF points out, "Accusing the other side in a conflict of failing to assuming good faith can, itself, be a form of failing to assume good faith.") Finally, users are given leeway in editing their own talk pages, and allowed to remove comments they feel are inappropriate. Users are advised not to remove warnings without cause, as this may be seen as uncivil; however, the excessive template you placed on my page was not such a case. Removing it was most certainly not vandalism, and your claim as such seems to indicate some misunderstanding of policy.
Please See: Help:Talk_page#User_talk_pages:
"Most users treat their user talk pages like regular talk pages, and archive the contents periodically to a personal subpage — either when the page gets too large, on a regular schedule, or when they take a wikivacation. Others delete comments after they have responded to them." --LeflymanTalk 21:51, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
Hi, I hope you don't mind me commenting here. I switched the tag from no source to orphaned fair use on this image a while ago and noticed this discussion when I was following up. According to Wikipedia's fair use policy, criterion 10, images claiming fair use must contain article-specific fair use rationale. It is the responsibility of the uploader or those placing the image in articles to provide the rationale, as they are the ones claiming that the image is protected under fair use. As with all images that do not comply with the fair use policy, if an image claiming fair use does not contain fair use rationale 7 days after the uploader has been notified (since this image was uploaded before 13 July 2006), it may be deleted without further warning. Feel free to contact me on my talk page if you have any questions. Pagrashtak 23:20, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

(replying to message on my talk page) - You're welcome.  :) I like the expanded rationale that you added, too. If there are any other Lost-related images that you'd like assistance with, let me know, and I'll be happy to take a look. --Elonka 08:40, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

There's a problem with the "Title Reference" section that I can't exactly figure out. Though the name of the episode is "one arrest" there are two arrests by the case squad during the episode. One is of Bird and one is of Kevin Johnston, the one eyed drug runner. Either there is a philosophical reasoning for this or it's a screw up. –– Lid(Talk) 10:59, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Technically, as the creators would know, it's irrelevent if they released Johnston as the arrest applies only to the inital arrest. Anything after that is being released from custody. In addition to that, seeing as he was being cuffed, resisting arrest, and carrying a large amount of product, he would had to have co-operated of his own free will to be released but I can tell you he wasn't as he had seen the entire case squad and their dealings. It's actually probably a plothole as to what happened to him, considering we see later on that you can easily make phone calls from prison to snitch, so the One Arrest title is one big confusing fuck. If we can find a David Simon quote on this it would be appropriate. –– Lid(Talk) 14:37, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
Also I added the Docks to Template:TheWire as well as added the freak disappearance of Frank Barlow from the series in The Target Miscellanea. –– Lid(Talk) 15:27, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Image:Pilot2backgammon.jpg

Sorry for the late reply. I saw your message this morning but was busy in school the entire day and could only take a look at the article and the image in question just now. It appears that you have given Image:Pilot2backgammon.jpg an accurate fair use rationale. And it does illustrate the black-and-white theme section appropriately. We notice that there may have been confusing in collecting the opinions of yourselves and others. Thus, we would appreciate it if you took the time to voting again at the poll. Please choose "#Support" or "#Oppose" for the first option. Additionally, you may also make a completely separate vote for which disambiguation title with be used.

Commendation

Hey, I didn't know where else to put this, but...just wanted to thank you for your fantastic episode summaries on The Wire. I rely on them heavily to understand the plot after each episode. As smart as I'd like to think I am, I don't always catch what they're saying or the implications of it. It's all very thorough and well-done. Many thanks.

Lockeownzj00 21:59, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

An editor is removing all the images from List of The Wire episodes for lack of fair use rationals, see here. I noticed that you had been adding rationals to some of the images, and thought you should know. - Peregrine Fisher 16:56, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Not a problem, you're doing an excellent job. I must say that List of The Wire episodes is one of the best LOEs I've seen. The Wire articles are all really well done. If you're interested, a discussion happened concurrently with the removal at Wikipedia talk:Fair use#Screenshots .282.29. The threat of removal is over for now, but it's kind of interesting. Every month or so the editor who removed the images tries to do it to another LOE, a big discussion takes place with no results, and then things die down. - Peregrine Fisher 23:02, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

From the message on your talk page I have posted my opinion on the situation on the talk page of the Wire episodes list. –– Lid(Talk) 03:46, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Sopranos Tracee.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Sopranos Tracee.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Fair use rationale for Image:Sopranos Annalisa Zucca.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Sopranos Annalisa Zucca.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:14, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi, the discussion to promote Pilot (Smallville) was closed, so I placed your comment on its talk page instead. Hope you don't mind. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 11:27, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

No worries. I didn't get a chance to throw in my towel, either -- I know the editor who worked on the article, and he's produced some great work, like the recently-promoted Jason Voorhees. Kind of feel bad that I didn't get to lend my support to either. :-P —Erik (talkcontrib) - 11:43, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Sorry fellas, but feel free to copy edit both articles...as no FA is ever "perfect". Thanks for the support Opark.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 13:02, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

FAC Carnivàle

Thank you very much for your copyedit and your comments at the FAC. I have addressed your concerns, which included writing a completely new section out of nothing. Although I have copyedited this section several times now, would you mind proofreading Carnivàle#Cast again, just in case? Thank you. :-) – sgeureka t•c 16:47, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

I don't know how, but the article was promoted today. The hardest part was getting a copyeditor, and since you were the only copyeditor (other than User:Tony1 who helped with partial copyediting), I'll express my gratitude with this barnstar. – sgeureka t•c 08:47, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Novels assessment

Just happened to be there - Cheers :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 14:03, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Hey there

I noticed you're back, are you interested in collaborating again to get another article to FA? I'm down for almost anything related to TV, rap, MMA or boxing. Cheers! east.718 at 15:32, September 17, 2007

I sent The Wire's LoE to WP:FLC a while back... then realized that I'd written only half of the summaries and summarily withdrew the nomination... guess that's what happens when you edit on a sleep deficit. I don't want to write too much for it as it's just boring plot summary, but I could copyedit for you. Alternatively, we could just tackle something like Oz together... it'll be an interesting challenge because the current article is subpar and I expect there to be a dearth of third-party sources. east.718 at 15:50, September 17, 2007

Congratulations. An article you contributed significantly to has been awarded Good Article status. You may wish to copy the following template: {{User Good Article|Victoria Wood As Seen On TV}} and paste it to somewhere suitable (such as your user page).

It will produce the following userbox

and add you to the category "Good Article contributors".

Well done! EyeSereneTALK 14:26, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

Brotherhood

Sorry - maybe the tag was a bit over the top - I didn't look to see how long the article had been there or how much it had been revised, but when I started looking at it I found so many errors and problems with the way it's expressed that I added the tag. I'll look at it again and see if I can soften it. Didn't mean to target any one editor - if you're the only one doing most of the work on it, I apologize for coming off harshly. It does need a lot of work, though. I'll try to help. Tvoz |talk 17:00, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:The Corner cover.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 13:36, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

I notice that you do not think that the Goodies' episode page has enough information. Could you please tell me what you think is wrong with it, and in what way you personally feel that the article can be improved. Thank you. As I have already added references to the page, I do not understand why they are not considered good enough. Figaro 20:45, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

Sopranos FA

Hello! I've begun rebuilding the Sopranos article from scratch, more or less. I'm thinking about modeling it after the The Wire and Carnivàle articles. I've saved what I've written so far in my sandbox. It's not much so far but see how it looks to you. Grammar and sentence structure is a big issue since english is not my first language. Anyway, let's make this thing happen. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Funkyvoltron (talkcontribs) 01:27, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

FAC Trapped in the Closet

List of Carnivàle episodes

Hi. You just just caused me a major edit conflict at the Carnivàle ep list. ;-) Anyway, I have just made my final pass on the list and want to take it to WP:FLC very soon, possibly tomorrow. I have asked another eager Carni fan to read over the summaries just to make sure I have not left any grammar mistakes, but six eyes are always better than four. So if you want to read over the article again or leave some other suggestions before the Featured reviewers slap me on the wrist, it can't hurt and certainly is appreciated. I feel this article has everything that a Featured List needs, but I feel I'm a little to close to the subject and need independant input for whether the copyrighted image at the top adds anything to the list or should be removed, and whether the individual plot summary <ref>s that you have added (thanks!) should use the "url" parameter to link to the ep summaries of the HBO website. – sgeureka t•c 23:47, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

I really should have used {{inuse}} but this was in fact my first edit conflict in over three months of editing Carnivàle articles, so I didn't even think about it in the first place. :-) But I have added a second reference for the plot summaries now per your suggestion. I'll wait with the FLC a few more days or until I'm sure that the list has received an independent check, whichever comes first. – sgeureka t•c 18:18, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
I had another pass on the list and felt positive to go to FLC now. See Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of Carnivàle episodes. If you still find the time to go over the list again, please do so. :-) – sgeureka t•c 10:54, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Thank you very much. I started with rewatching episode 1 yesterday, but I think I'll watch a couple of other shows before I really continue with Carnivàle again. :-) – sgeureka t•c 21:20, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks a lot for your note there! I suspect you're right about a sort of systemic bias in the creation of articles about specific shows and networks rather than the general concepts and processes underlying broadcasting that is created because fans and enthusiasts are more likely to write articles than industry insiders. I left a note at the BBC WikiProject as I know some of the people there work inside the BBC...hopefully someone else will have some ideas! TheGrappler 17:35, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

(Incidentally, I thought it rather weird that several people have Wikipedia entries purely because they work as commissioning editors and are therefore considered major media figures, notable enough for an article...but nobody thought the role of commissioning editor itself was worth making an article for! If no new ideas come forward I will look up a few commissioning editor bios and drop notes to the people who wrote them; I guess someone who writes biographical articles about commissioning editors is a better-than-average bet to know what a commissioning editor actually does!) The Sopranos

Hey! Work on the new Sopranos article has been a little slow since it's such a massive project and I'm pretty much all alone with it. I still plan to finish it though and today I resumed working on it. I would appreciate any help you can give me and if you wanna contribute, have a shot at the plot section. I've already started working on it and you could just follow my lead with the reference style I use. I'm gonna finish the production section, then the critical reception section, then I'll move on to heavier stuff. As you can see, the DVD release section is already done. My god, that was tedious. Anyway, feel free to help me out, thanks.–FunkyVoltron talk 17:32, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Hey, great with the references. How'd you do that? Yes, I'm something of a newbie when it comes to that stuff.–FunkyVoltron talk 01:42, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Well, that's all the work I'm gonna do for today. Feel free to copy-edit what I've written so far.–FunkyVoltron talk 07:16, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
All right, fixed. Check out the lead now. What do you think of the first paragraph of this section. Is it okay to write "Because Italian-American actors are often cast as Mafia-types in Hollywood productions"? Because, obviously, it's true but I don't know how to put it encyclopedic.–FunkyVoltron talk 19:59, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Hey again. If you're not too busy, I would appreciate it tremendously if you had a look at the production section. I think grammar and tense is an issue. Take this sentence for instance: "The directing staff of The Sopranos consisted mainly of seasoned television directors." It should be consisted, right? Since the show is no longer in production.–FunkyVoltron talk 06:18, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
I think the production section is more or less done. I would appreciate copy-editing (needed), and expanding (possibly needed). Anyway, I'm gonna take a break from working on this article for a couple of days now. Hope you're not too busy to help me when I get back.–FunkyVoltron talk 07:41, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

I'm looking for an English expression...

Hi. I am slowly getting ready to nominate another Carnivàle article for WP:GA. The prose doesn't need to be "brilliant", so a copyedit is not required. But I am looking for an English expression for a header and all my dictionaries aren't helping. Specifically, I need to know a term that summarizes all the things that can be applied to the body that aren't usually a part of it, e.g. tattooes, contact lenses, fake beards and prosthetics. I feel my term "body applications" sounds like a dead man is looking for a job. Can you please help out? – sgeureka t•c 21:43, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Characters_of_Carnivàle#Freak_applications_and_costumes (first paragraph; I forgot that I renamed the term to "freak applications" a few days ago). And while I am asking, is "Costumes" or "Costuming" more correct? – sgeureka t•c 21:49, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
This helped very much. Thank you. – sgeureka t•c 21:54, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Episode Table

You mentioned in your assessment of Kamen Rider 555 that the episodes should be moved and put into the episode guide template. I've tried using that template and can't seem to make it work. Am I doing something wrong? How does it work, exactly? There's no instructions that I saw. -- Howa0082 (talk) 18:00, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

Ohh, that's what it looks like? Ok, then. I think there's a WikiProject Tokusatsu version of that, with a ton more blanks for Japanese crap. But uh, yeah. I'll definitely split that list off on it's own, because that's just too much info on that page, I agree. Thanks a bunch. Howa0082 (talk) 00:39, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

Your assessment

A belated thanks ("Thanks!") for the assessment of Judge Judy. You put a lot of effort into reviewing the article's strengths and weaknesses, and your comments will definitely help with developing a plan to improve it. Thanks again. --Ckatzchatspy 09:44, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Saw what you said to TTN

I personally doubt that the wikiproject templates should be removed from the talk pages of the merged articles. They can be used to notify other editors to use sandboxes to practice building up the articles' notabilities. Then, when the articles have become notable, they can be restored.

Oh dear, I notice that vanity-page requesting IP user got to you as well. He requested that I create a bunch of those articles as well. I did Susan Strickler, Darin Goldberg, and Robin Burger, but only Susan Strickler survived nomination for deletion. If any of your articles requested went through that, you have my deepest sympathy. Wilhelmina Will (talk) 23:52, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Hello. I've added the episode templates to all (I think!) the instances where the episodes are used as a primary source. Many thanks for your comments, which have enhanced the article. The JPStalk to me 01:17, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:The Wire - Season 5.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:The Wire - Season 5.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 22:13, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Bubbles/Reginald Cousins

I moved the page back because fictional characters who are nearly always called by a nickname get the article at that nickname, even when their real names are known. See Comic Book Guy and Paulie Walnuts for examples. They have known real names but the other characters (and perhaps more importantly, fans, the media, and official websites) use the nickname instead. Andrew Levine 06:13, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Carnivàle copyedit

Characters of Carnivàle just successfully passed GA, highlighting a slight problem with in-universe writing. I took care of it and also rewrote related parts of Mythology of Carnivàle, which will have its GA review in about one or two weeks. I would like to go to FTC as soon as possible afterwards and ask whether your offer for a copyedit is still up. I feel I've done all I could with them (Characters and Mythology), and my only real concern now is that some grammar mistakes crept in. I'm just asking so early because your daily wikipedia participation has gone down and you may miss this note for a while. – sgeureka t•c 16:12, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Any time within the next two weeks (edit: next week) would be fine, so take your time. And thank you. :-) – sgeureka t•c 17:35, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Mythology of Carnivàle was also just promoted. :-) I'll go over the two articles again to get rid of some remaining WP:INUNIVERSE issues. Let me know when you've checked/copyedited the articles. I am currently aiming to go to WP:FTC next Wednesday. I am also reading up on a few new-to-me Carnivàle reviews and see if the Characters article is really as comprehensive as I thought. Despite my earlier intentions, I'd like to try FAC with that article, but I'll wait until I really feel prepared; no need to repeat the naïvity of last time. – sgeureka t•c 15:43, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Eh, what the heck. Excuse my impatience, but I have changed my mind a little because uni stuff is coming up and it's better to have the FTC off my mind then. WP:FTC seems mainly concerned with comprehensiveness of the topic, which Carnivàle surely is (as a topic). So I'll focus on getting the Characters article up to speed so that I can (still) consider FA later, which may take some time (a week, a month?). FTCs can also go for a while, so the sooner I apply, the sooner I get the results. If the prose is objected there despite the GA pass (unlikely), there is still time to fix it. I still appreciate any coypedits and input from you. – sgeureka t•c 17:22, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your copyedit. It seems my prose is not as poor as I believed it to still be. :-) Anyway, since you're the third one to say how good the Mythology article is, I thought I could just try for FAC (I reread the article to be sure) and see what happens. The Characters article will have to wait. – sgeureka t•c 01:31, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Random Question...

Hey there. In your review of Star Trek: Enterprise you mentioned that "Some of the referencing uses the cite episode template format and some does not." What does that mean? I'd correct it, but have no idea what to do about it. Howa0082 (talk) 17:07, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

As a secondary thing, would you be willing to take a look at the article again? I've heavily reworked it, and feel I've addressed your list of points, so would appreciate it if you could gander over thataway. Howa0082 (talk) 21:52, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Sopranos_Marie_Spatafore.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Sopranos_Marie_Spatafore.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Garion96 (talk) 11:31, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

You are half correct. The image is irreplaceable because it is a fictional character. But the image is only used in the Elizabeth Bracco article to show how she looks. Since she is a living person it is deemed replaceable by WP:NFCC. Garion96 (talk) 14:28, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

The Wire infoboxes and images

Yeah, getting around to that, don't worry. :) –FunkyVoltron talk 17:43, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

All right, I'll do that. It'll look like this then. By the way, do you think the epigraph looks good there? –FunkyVoltron talk 17:59, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
You could probably do that but I don't know how. I mean, for the season boxes it would be no problem but it would probably look silly if the episode and season boxes are different colors. Of course, you could create one template for each season but I don't know if that's advisable. There's probably some way to color code it, though. If you know a code geek, bring him out now. I actually have no idea how the boxes work, that stuff is a big mystery to me. I just copied the House and Futurama boxes and changed it to information relevant to The wire.–FunkyVoltron talk 18:14, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

The Sopranos

That's okay, real life has been kind of an inconvenience for me too. I'm pretty much done with the production section but the others are still works in progress.–FunkyVoltron talk 17:52, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Another thing about The Wire

All right, I'm gonna replace the infoboxes now. As for guest stars, do you think it's okay if I remove the "as <character>" thing and just use actor names? It looks kind of tacky with a character name in the infobox.–FunkyVoltron talk 17:52, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Sopranos Little Paulie.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Sopranos Little Paulie.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Thank you. Chris.B (talk) 17:13, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

Happy New Year, Opark 77! Since you've assessed quite a few good articles and contributed to them, I thought I could solicit your assistance. I've submitted two articles for peer review, and thought that you might be of some help in critiquing them:

  • Duck Soup. I've listed this article for peer review because, even though I and other editors have contributed much information and references, I'm certain that there are other aspects of this classic film that have yet to be covered. I'd like to hear feedback from you, so that I can get help in improving this (and other Marx Brothers films) quality.
  • Princess Leia Organa. I've listed this article for peer review because it right now seems oddly cluttered and, despite a lot of references as of now, lacks reliable source citations. Although I've already requested another peer review, as long as it helps the articles get better, I've got the time. Any helpful comments will certainly be appreciated, as this should help me in expanding other Star Wars-centric articles.

If you have the time, it'd be great if you could review those articles and assess their strengths and weaknesses. Thanks, and a Happy New Year to you! — Cinemaniac (talkcontribs) 01:18, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Removing spoilers

Hi Opark 77 - your edits removing "spoilers" from Transitions (The Wire episode) was raised at the administrator's noticeboard (see Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#Removing_spoilers.) It doesn't matter what you have decided the policy should be for The Wire pages - Wikipedia has a general policy on spoilers. After the episode has been made viewable via On Demand or anything other legal means, the plot is verifiable and should be included in the article. Don't edit war over such content, please. By your logic, we should not include the information after the episode has been broadcast in the United States because it would "spoil" the show for viewers in other countries. Neıl 13:59, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

No problem - good luck and keep up the good work. Neıl 14:51, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

The Wire

No need to apologize. It was simply two differing interpretations on the policy, which is bound to happen. I will work where I can to improve some Wire articles, however I am on a self-imposed Wikibreak, making fewers edits as other priorities in life have arisen. Cheers, Daysleeper47 (talk) 15:51, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Guests of the Wire

I've been meaning to ask you about your findings also. The Vincent Ward one was a mistake. But here are pics of Alan J. Wendl and John Badila: [24] [25] They are similar looking, I guess. But if you watch the episode again, I think you'll agree which one is which. I've been wanting to ask you how you have made your findings. For example, how do you know that Sophia Wang was the "Six Flags girl" and not Christine Lee? I would guess that we are both guessing combined with the best info available.

When McNulty reads the article it says "M. Scott Templeton and Alma M. Gutierrez". Also, when Templeton is on Nancy Grace, it says "M. Scott Templeton" at the bottom of the screen. MrBlondNYC (talk) 18:30, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

I found a pic of Sohn and her daughters and I believe you are correct. But we're still not sure who was the first girl. Oh, well. let's keep working together on these articles. Maybe I could be like your rewrite man. MrBlondNYC (talk) 19:10, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

The Wire restructuring

I noticed you've began to restructure The Wire episodes. I think it's great that the episode pages are consistent. One thing to note though: the guest stars box needs to be changed to [[#Guest stars|see below]] for the link to actually work (it was "Guest starring roles" before but you changed it).–FunkyVoltron talk 01:31, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Prop Joe in Transitions

"I moved the page back because fictional characters who are nearly always called by a nickname get the article at that nickname, even when their real names are known. See Comic Book Guy and Paulie Walnuts for examples. They have known real names but the other characters (and perhaps more importantly, fans, the media, and official websites) use the nickname instead." This is a recall of an earlier entry on this page. You are also contradicting yourself with these edits since you are still referring to Cheese as "Cheese" instead of his real name. Please stop your poor editing practices of the Wire. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.139.1.68 (talk) 13:44, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

I'm the guy who wrote the quoted post. I'd go with either "Prop Joe" or "Propositon Joe." The appellation is appropriate since it's the name everyone on the show (cops and dealers alike) calls him. "Cheese" is fine too. The IP is being pedantic. Andrew Levine (talk) 18:38, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

The Wire characters

No problem. I'm still working on my Sopranos episodes ("Soprano Home Movies" now a FA) but I'll be glad to help you write some The Wire related article to FA status. Maybe an episode or a character?–FunkyVoltron talk 15:17, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

I'll be happy to try a rewrite of Final Grades (The Wire episode). As the fourth season finale, I think it's notable. I also think it's the most mind-blowing, gut-wrenching 80 minutes of television ever produced. The plot summary has to be rewritten, basically from scratch, though. I don't have the season 4 DVD yet (I live in Europe so I buy R2 DVDs and it was just released here) but I know there's a commentary track for that episode by Simon. That will probably be helpful. There's also plenty of reviews and articles and whatnot on the internet.–FunkyVoltron talk 18:27, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

The Wire lead

I tried to rewrite the lead for The Wire (TV series) now that the show is over. I really don't think we need to name all those newspapers in the lead; settled on an overall critical impression, which, as you know, is very positive.–FunkyVoltron talk 15:34, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

The Wire: Prop Joe math

The math from my edit is correct, the current sentence implies a discount of 80 percent rather than a mark-up of 20 percent as any figure multiplied by less than 100 percent yields a number less than the original figure, and if you multiply any figure by more than 100 percent you get a number larger than the original figure. There's no need to undo my edit, because the math is correct. 67.181.212.109 (talk) 18:41, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

WikiProject The Wire

Hello, Opark 77/Archive 1 and thank you for your contributions on articles related to The Wire. I'd like to invite you to become a part of Wikipedia: WikiProject The Wire, a WikiProject aiming to improve coverage of The Wire and related articles on Wikipedia.

If you would like to help out and participate, please visit the project page for more information. Thanks! Creamy3 (talk) 20:31, 18 March 2008 (UTC)~~~~

WikiProject The Wire

I did propose this WikiProject to the WikiProject council and they said that it was perfectly fine. Do you want to help me get it up and running, you obviously have a wealth of information on The Wire. We could really use your help and guidance. Thanks. Creamy3 (talk) 19:52, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi Opark 77, I was wondering why all of the other Wikipedia pages that have those images are allowed to have them. Here's a link to the proposal that I made to the WikiProject council. [28] Thanks again, and consider joining; it would mean a lot to me. Creamy3 (talk) 20:06, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
No Opark 77 you're right about the free image stuff. I'm sorry about all that. I assure that my WikiProject is valid though. Andrew Levine (talk · contribs) is a member. You would be a great help. You're right about Nerese Campbell, although I think she's a fascinating character. Creamy3 (talk) 20:29, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Absolutely Opark 77, it's a pleasure to be working with you. Let's get started. Creamy3 (talk) 20:42, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Help request

Do you need to complete the proposal process before you can begin a Wikiproject? The above WikiProject The Wire was recently started by Creamy3 but I'm not sure about its validity. Could someone help me talk this new user through the reasons why using non-free images on templates relating to this wikiproject is not allowed.--Opark 77 (talk) 20:25, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

My original question about when you should begin a wikiproject and whether you require the proposal process to be completed still stands. 2 people have nullified this help request. I assure you I am still seeking help!--Opark 77 (talk) 22:50, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
There is no official process as WP:COUNCIL is their to organize all of the Wikiprojects, though it might be easier if they know about it, and they will be able to give you tips. ~ LegoKontribsTalkM 22:59, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
The above makes no sense to me - I think some words are missing. I think its probably a suggestion to contact the Wikiproject council but having visited their page I find no way to do so.--Opark 77 (talk) 23:14, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
WP:COUNCILs job is to create a directory of wikiprojects. You technically do not need their approval, but they would be able to help you because some of their members have created their own wikiprojects, and would be of assistance in creating the project page, templates, etc. Hope this clarifies it ~ LegoKontribsTalkM 23:17, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

DYK congratulations

Updated DYK query On 20 March, 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency (TV series), which you created or substantially expanded. Creamys

Hi Opark 77. I just wanted to address some of your concerns about all of those users with the word "creamy" in their usernames who were a part of WikiProject The Wire and then were not. They are a part of a group known as the "Creamy Army", a group that I started. When they saw that I had started a new WikiProject they joined it. Seeing as how none of them are active members of Wikipedia and how none of them are familiar with The Wire I told them to take their names off of the project's "members" section. They're good people, but they aren't too interested in making articles or contributing constructively, so I told them that I'd like to go on with the project without them. Thanks again for your help with the project and with additional information. All the best. Creamy3 (talk) 02:27, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Have you ever read "Shame the Devil" by George Pelecanos? It's great. Creamy3 (talk) 16:38, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for all of the information that you gave me earlier. Just to tell you, I'll be on vacation for about a week and I won't be able to edit during that time. I look forward to editing went I get back. Thanks again! Creamy3 (talk) 01:07, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

The first WikiProject The Wire newsletter is now available. Add to it if you can; thanks. Creamy3 (talk) 22:25, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Brotherhood

So, are you a fan of Brotherhood? I've been looking at the article and there seems to be enough information about the show to write it to featured article status. I've been working on it from time to time but only minor stuff like improving the episode list and creating and expanding Blake Masters. I think it's absolutely the best show on television now that The Wire has ended and I would gladly help with a rewrite/expansion of the article.–FunkyVoltron talk 14:59, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Sopranos Ep56 tonyb silvio.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Sopranos Ep56 tonyb silvio.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:22, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi

Hi Opark 77, I'm new to Wikipedia and I just joined a couple of WikiProjects. I made a page for the book Shame the Devil. Just thought I'd say hello. Thanks. Flakes41 (talk) 20:41, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Greetings - Please Help

Hi Opark 77

I really don't know what I'm doing on Wikipedia. That much is obvious, since you deleted my "nonsensical, unsourced" section on A New Day (The Wire episode).

All I wanted to say was to warn people not to watch the commentary on this episode (which is on Disc 3) until they've watched all of the rest of the episodes on Disc 4, because Robert Chew, reveals a "major plot point", which I didn't want to say what it was (the death of a major character). Disc 4 hadn't even come from Netflix is for me, and the way that goes, I thought it would be appropriate to watch commentary on Disc 3, without having to worry about this.

There is a whole page on Wikipedia called Spoiler, if you have no clue what I'm talking about. Roger Ebert's essay on Million Dollar Baby seems to be a big "source" for this discussion.

I don't know. Maybe I was just upset.

You seem like an authority, but if you think it's inappropriate to give this warning on Wikipedia's page for this episode, then so be it. I mentioned it on the discussion board for the episode on imdb, and also on Robert Chew's page.

If you think it has merit, do you have any ideas how I can make it less (or not at all) nonsensical and how to properly source it?

Anyway, thanks for listening. I didn't really know how this works at all, and I didn't know how to find somebody that does.

Warm Regards

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:The Wire Snoop.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:The Wire Snoop.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by an adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Geniac (talk) 19:40, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Brotherhood episodes

I've been working on List of Brotherhood episodes with the intent of making it a featured list someday. I think I'm almost there; however, rewriting plot summaries is not easy. I wonder if you're interested in helping me? I've written the plot summaries for season 2 from the Showtime summaries but I fear that they're too short. Copyediting is also needed. Mad Men writers

Hey, I noticed you've created articles for the non-Weiner Mad Men writers. Good work. With the exception of Rick Cleveland, who is now a writer/consulting producer, I'm afraid they're all fairly obscure. Robin Veith is a she and was nominated for an Emmy for her co-writing of "The Wheel." Also, I think Andre Jacquemetton & Maria Jacquemetton could do with one article since they haven't done anything individually. Also, the writers - Cleveland is again the exception - are old friends of Weiner.–FunkyVoltron talk 18:58, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

The Wire title references and epigraphs

I was just looking back on my old contributions and realised that these sections, several of which I wrote, are largely just original research with no basis in the articles. It is, in my opinion, these probably need removal or fixing to bring away from peoples interpretations of them. –– Lid(Talk) 12:11, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your uploads. You've indicated that the following images are being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why they meet Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page an image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Jeffrey Stepakoff is an American television writer, producer, and author.

Education: He earned a degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After graduation, he began working at an advertising agency. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Master of Fine Arts in playwriting in 1988. He teaches at Kennesaw State University as Assistant Professor of Screenwriting since 2006.

Stepakoff’s ticket to television writing came through a Carnegie Mellon contact who was involved with ER. The contact helped introduce him to an agent and David Milch, creator of "Deadwood" and NYPD Blue. The 1988 Writers Guild of America strike prevented Stepakoff from working right away. Although he was offered a job as a scab writer for CBS's Charles In Charge, produced by Universal Television, he turned it down. When the strike ended, he was offered another job by Universal to write for Simon & Simon. His credits include Zoe Busiek: Wild Card, Major Dad, Dawson's Creek, Tarzan, Hyperion Bay, "C-16: FBI", "Flipper", "Sisters (Creative Consultant), "The Wonder Years", "Major Dad", and "Simon & Simon". Stepakoff also created pilots for 20th Century, Paramount Pictures, MTM, Fox and ABC. He developed and wrote major motion pictures, including Disney's Tarzan and Brother Bear.

His book BILLION-DOLLAR KISS: The Kiss That Saved Dawson’s Creek and Other Adventures in TV Writing [29], a revealing account of his experiences in the television industry, is a critically acclaimed one.

Membership: Stepakoff is a member of the Writers Guild of America, the Writers Guild of Canada, the Screen Actors Guild, and IATSE, and is a voting member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. He currently resides with his wife and children in Dunwoody, Georgia.

The Wire critics/awards section needs some aid

I was just re-reading this article, having done some work on it a long time back (and finding some very old talk page posts of mine in the process) and while I see a common complaint theme of over referencing (largely regarding plot development having 2-4 references when effectively only requiring one - the episode itself), the bigger problem I stumbledupon was that the Acclaim section has been sent to the back burner.

What I mean is that the critical section seems to have been largely uneditted since before the fifth season, began, and the series entirely ended. The analysis goes upto season four, and then general calls for greatest show of all time that were based on the first four seasons. However at this point it makes zero mentions of the fifth season, or the critical reception of the fifth season, and then to a more significant extent because it has been ignored since the end of the fourth season it contains zero critical analysis of the series as a completed whole.

Less important, and more related to consistancy, but the awards section is inconsistant in its usage of winning awards and nominations using a largely unfamiliar italics/bold system I do not believe exists on other articles. It should probably be shifted to a format in the shape of:

  • Best Television Show Ever Awards
    • Won
      • Best yadda yadda yadda
    • Nominated
      • Best blah blah blah.

I see you are a little busy with Simon's latest project, but on an FA that you have put such time into it seems a glaring oversight which I would do myself but there are certain... circumstances... that hinder my post-season four Wire knowledge currently that won't be rectified for a bit. –– Lid(Talk) 11:06, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

The article John Shiban has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.
