Start writing after this.. Dear Editor, Will you please send me a userfy page on the Derek Marin entry I submitted that was deleted. Please excuse my errors; this was my first Wiki attempt, besides consulting with my publisher on my own Wiki page. It is difficult when a person's references are digital; the magazine that awarded him DJ of the year, Mixer Magazine, once had its own Wiki page and has since been deleted. This is the case with many digital references. My publisher is the first all digital book publisher, Stay Thirsty Press, and he firmly believes it is the future, by sigh, I do miss the permanance of hard covers or even magazine covers. Also read this article today, which I thought may be of interest to you. Thank you and best, Pamela Ditchoff Pd1290 (talk) 12:57, 15 August 2009 (UTC) http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2009/aug/12/wikipedia-deletionist-inclusionist[reply]

I'm kind of getting tired of this user ignoring talk page warnings and edit comments. My last post on the talk page was a final warning with the reasons for the warning. As far as I'm concerned, any additional vandalism will result in a block. Vegaswikian (talk) 01:55, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As may be seen, I declined speedy because it is more than a DICDEF, and there are no valid reasons for speedy deletion. I sent it to Proposed deletion. Bearian (talk) 20:17, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Oniongas! This is just to let you know that I declined the speedy deletion of this article because:

  1. The article credibly indicates why the song is important or significant (a charting single)
  2. The artist is individually notable

To fulfill criterion A9 neither of these should be met. Regards, decltype (talk) 17:53, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tango (comics)

[edit]

The cleanup tag you placed on Tango (comics) was incorrect in that it indicated the article had been tagged for cleanup since 2006 (and also specified section cleanup but was placed at the top of the article). If you are proposing general cleanup please place {{cleanup}} at the top of the article (a bot will date it) and make a comment on the article's talk page about what needs cleanup. Thank you. Request for Help, please

[edit]

Greetings Oniongas. Nice to meet you. Would you be so kind to help me create an article about Confucius in the Kashmiri Wikipedia? Please. It's about a Chinese philosopher and is listed as one of the articles every Wikipedia should have. If you think that article is too long, here is a short version: "Confucius was a Chinese thinker and social philosopher, whose teachings and philosophy have deeply influenced Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese thought and life. His philosophy emphasized personal and governmental morality, correctness of social relationships, justice and sincerity." Thanks you very much, and best regards:)--Amaqqut (talk) 08:13, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Keeping this article anything close to neutral is becoming a challenge. Would be great if you could have an eye on it as one user with no idea of WP: Synthesis and WP:RS keeps on posting propaganda materials Zencv Whisper 09:46, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

And fight not with them at the Inviolable Place of Worship until they first attack you there, but if they attack you (there) then slay them. Such is the reward of disbelievers. 2:192 But if they desist, then lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 2:193 And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah. But if they desist, then let there be no hostility except against wrong-doers. 2:194 The forbidden month for the forbidden month, and forbidden things in retaliation. And one who attacketh you, attack him in like manner as he attacked you. Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Oniongas! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 2 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Tiku Talsania - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

File permission problem with File:BGSBU campus1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:BGSBU campus1.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 04:29, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:SMVDU.png

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:SMVDU.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude2 (talk) 06:33, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Kashmiri

[edit]

Hello, I see you speak Kashmiri natively. Currently, the MediaWiki software has poor support for Kashmiri and the Kashmiri Wikipedia has no community (probably due to the script issues). I'd like to ask if you are interested in translating a bit of the MediaWiki interface into Kashmiri. If so, please say in which scripts you are able to translate (and which script should be the default). I also contacted other Wikipedia editors who indicated they speak Kashmiri. Wikimedia Stories Project

[edit]

Hello,

My name is Victor Grigas, and I'm a storyteller at the Wikimedia foundation. We're telling stories of Wikipedia users, editors, donors, programmers and staff to paint a picture of who uses Wikipedia - for the 2011 fundraiser.

I am in the process of planning a trip to India to gather stories from Indian Wikipedians in face-to-face interviews (possibly on video).

My primary goal is to conduct 15-20 interviews, and hopefully enough of my interviews will make compelling stories that will effectively solicit donations from the public. These stories may also be used for other communication purposes by the foundation.

I found your userpage on a list of prolific Wikipedians and thought I’d reach out to you. Prolific editing is always a good story to tell!

If you are interested in participating, please contact me via my email:

vgrigas@wikimedia.org

Thank you for your time!

Victor

Deletion of 'Camp Agawam'

[edit]

Dear Oniongas,

Could you please explain to me why the article 'Camp Agawam' was not notable? Why did you delete it? Is it possible for it to be recovered? Please assist me. I added the 'hangon' tag, but it was speedily deleted shortly after I did this.

WikiProject India Tag & Assess 2012 Contest

[edit]

Hello friends, we are a number of editors from WikiProject India have got together to assess the many thousands of articles under the stewardship of the project, and we'd love to have you, a fellow member, join us. These articles require assessment, that is, the addition of a WikiProject template to the talk page of an article, assessing it for quality and importance and adding a few extra parameters to it.

As of March 11, 2012, 07:00 UTC, WikiProject India has 95,998 articles under its stewardship. Of these 13,980 articles are completely unassessed (both for class and importance) and another 42,415 articles are unassessed for importance only. Accordingly, a Tag & Assess 2012 drive-cum-contest has begun from March 01, 2012 to last till May 31, 2012.

If you are new to assessment, you can learn the minimum about how to evaluate from Part One of the Assessment Guide. Part Two of the Guide will help you learn to employ the full functionality of the talk page template, should you choose to do so.

You can sign up on the Tag & Assess page. There are a number of awards to be given in recognition of your efforts. Come & join us to take part in this exciting new venture. You'll learn more about India in this way.

At WP:BLP Simone_Singh, in this edit, as of 09:51, 11 October 2009 by you, the fact that Simone Singh was first to represent India at the International Emmy Awards was cited with a bare link to http://www.screenindia.com/old/archive/archive_fullstory.php?content_id=6817 . This link is now dead, irrecoverably so. This dead link may result in the eventual removal of the now unverifiable claim. This is why we fully fill out reference citations, with title, date, author, publisher, instead of leaving WP:Bare URLs. --Lexein (talk) 14:29, 28 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New deal for page patrollers

[edit]

Hi Oniongas,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings Recent Changes Patrollers!

This is a one-time-only message to inform you about technical proposals related to Recent Changes Patrol in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:

  1. Adjust number of entries and days at Last unpatrolled
  2. Editor-focused central editing dashboard
  3. "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
  4. Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
  5. Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list

Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.
