Just an FYI

Something had to be done about the disruption with the Blake BLP so I filed at ANI in hopes of getting us some relief.

Roman Pearce

You want to help the wikipedia page on Roman Pearce, you might want to find articles on the character if you want to help. Matt Campbell (talk) 18:19, 5 September 2017 (UTC)User:Matt CampbellMatt Campbell (talk) 18:19, 5 September 2017 (UTC)

User: One15969 Hi One, Hope you are doing good, This is K.D.Satyam this side, Well you have put an autobiography template on my page. One, to be honest, earlier I was unaware of the rules of Wikipedia, but through Editor Jim I got to know how to update and correct the errors. Hence I have strictly followed the rules and improved the references and corrected the errors of the page, that too under the guidance of Editor Jim User: Jimfbleak. Still, if you find any error, you could please specify it, will definitely try and correct it. Regards K.D.Satyam (talk) 11:11, 9 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi K. D. Satyam It's not so much that there are errors, the tag is simply to let folks know that the article is an autobiography. You really shouldn't edit the article any more, but put requests on the article's talk page for other, non-involved, editors to make changes to the page. Good luck.Onel5969 TT me 13:43, 9 September 2017 (UTC)

User: One15969 Hi, One, I really understand your perspective and I will definitely follow that. Thank you so much for the guidance. Regards K.D.Satyam (talk) 17:24, 9 September 2017 (UTC)

Un-riewed, why?

I received a notice from you that you've un-reviewed Ömer Halisdemir. Sİnce I experience this action for the first time in my Wiki-life, I kindly ask you to explain to me what led you to do that. Thanks. CeeGee 11:02, 11 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi CeeGee - no worries. An article by that name had been created back in January, and I had reviewed it and asked for it to be speedy deleted, and it was. When you created your article this week, the wp database still showed this article has being reviewed by me back in January, so I simply marked it as unreviewed, since your article was not the article I had reviewed. I'm not sure your article is about someone who passes WP:GNG, but I wanted other editors to take a look at it. Hope this makes sense. Onel5969 TT me 12:50, 11 September 2017 (UTC)

Fast & Furious Characters

Why are you deleting those wikipedia pages? Matt Campbell (talk) 12:24, 12 September 2017 (UTC)User:Matt CampbellMatt Campbell (talk) 12:24, 12 September 2017 (UTC)

Not deleting. Redirecting to the appropriate article. Clearly stated the reason on my edit summary - read WP:INDISCRIMINATE. They have no notability outside their film universe. Articles about fictional characters need to be much more than simply plot summaries. Onel5969 TT me 12:27, 12 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi, I don't understand the delink here. Yes, the target page is a dab of sorts but it does contain a sourced description of the podu system and, surely, some sort of link to useful content is better than none at all? - Sitush (talk) 16:01, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi Sitush - While I don't disagree with your reasoning, the issue is that definition shouldn't be on a dab page, as per WP:DABDIC. Dab pages are meant to allow someone to quickly link to an article describing one of several similar terms. Rather than linking to a dab page, the reader should be directed to Wiktionary. See Template:Wiktionary. Hope this helps. Onel5969 TT me 16:14, 13 September 2017 (UTC)
Thanks but that is a guideline, not a policy, so if you don't actually disagree with my reasoning then perhaps reinstate it? No way do I want to see more inter-project links - Commons is bad enough, and Wikidata worse. I'm sure the thing could be turned into a standalone article, so why not give someone the chance to do so as we do with redlinks? - Sitush (talk) 16:17, 13 September 2017 (UTC)
Actually, I'll just create the article. There are over 5000 results at GBooks alone. - Sitush (talk) 16:24, 13 September 2017 (UTC)
Cool, that would have been my suggestion as well. Then it becomes a valid link. Take it easy. Onel5969 TT me 16:45, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer Newsletter

Hello Onel5969, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 14304 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a day.
  • Currently there are 532 pages in the backlog that were created by non-autoconfirmed users before WP:ACTRIAL. The NPP project is undertaking a drive to clear these pages from the backlog before they hit the 90 day Google index point. Please consider reviewing a few today!

Technology update:

  • The Wikimedia Foundation is currently working on creating a new filter for page curation that will allow new page patrollers to filter by extended confirmed status. For more information see: T175225

General project update:

  • On 14 September 2017 the English Wikipedia began the autoconfirmed article creation trial. For a six month period, creation of articles in the mainspace of the English Wikipedia will be restricted to users with autoconfirmed status. New users who attempt article creation will now be redirected to a newly designed landing page.
  • Before clicking on a reference or external link while reviewing a page, please be careful that the site looks trustworthy. If you have a question about the safety of clicking on a link, it is better not to click on it.
  • To keep up with the latest conversation on New Pages Patrol or to ask questions, you can go to Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers and add it to your watchlist.

If you wish to opt-out of future mailings, go here. TonyBallioni (talk) 02:16, 19 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi Onel5969, just wondering if you could take another look at the Vicar Hope Foundation article? You made several edits to the article, cleaning up the text, tagged it for conflict of interest and deletion, and then in [this edit], you undid all your changes with an edit summary stating that you were fixing a disambiguation link. Is it possible that you undid your changes by mistake when fixing the link? I wanted to make sure that I did't remove anything you re-added, just in case you really did intend to revert your edits. Cmr08 (talk) 08:42, 23 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi Cmr08 - Yes that's exactly what happened. While I was doing my gnomish dab fixes, for some reason the dab fixer reverted the other edits I had made. I've restored the article to its prior version, and will fix the dab manually. Thanks for catching it. Onel5969 TT me 13:27, 23 September 2017 (UTC)

Dublin 24

  • Hi,about Dublin 24 I was in the process of Improving the Page until,You deleted it,I am not sure why

{talk IrishRepublic5} Thanks.

Hi IrishRepublic5 - Please read the guidelines on WP:GEOFEAT. Currently, the article doesn't pass notability criteria. If it can be cited to show that it meets notability criteria, then it's fine. When you are developing articles, unless it is obvious they are going to meet notability requirements, you might want to create it in a draft form, and then move it to the mainspace when it's ready. Or even go through the AfC process. Onel5969 TT me 20:21, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
  • OK Thanks for your help.

With all due respect but Hermann Michael is hardly a non-notable person and the article contained several references to this notability. As the musical director of the Phoenix Symphony he is just as notable as Eduardo Mata, Michael Christie and Tito Muñoz who have articles mainly because they held precisely the same role as Hermann Michael. But apart from that, the Metropolitan Opera of New York where he conducted a number of times, is hardly some irrelevant provincial stage, isn't it? And the German, the Japanese, and the Russian Wikipedia also think that he is noteworthy enough to deserve an article. And by the way, a redirect to the German war criminal Hermann Michel does not make much sense here as the spelling is different and the name of that other person never was Hermann Michael. --Proofreader (talk) 21:23, 24 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi Proofreader - That's an WP:OSE argument, which is not relevant. And the other wikis also are irrelevant, as their criteria are not the same as ours. If you can provide citations from independent, reliable sources, then feel free to. As of now, he doesn't meet WP's notability criteria. Onel5969 TT me 23:28, 24 September 2017 (UTC)

John Burns (umpire)

Hi, regarding today's revert to John Burns (umpire), he is one of many many MLB umpires included on List of Major League Baseball umpires, various of which worked fewer major league games and already have pages. While he worked a limited number of games within a single 19th-century season, his work was in the early years of the National League, which is of historic interest. I have not seen any criteria defined or applied (e.g. number of games or number of seasons) to MLB umpires (or players) as a notoriety threshold. In light of this, I'd like to re-apply the changes, and wanted to reach out to you here first. Happy to discuss further, if of concern. Thanks. Dmoore5556 (talk) 23:01, 24 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi Dmoore5556 - That's an WP:OSE argument. If you can flesh out the article with references from independent, reliable sources, than it would pass GNG. However, due to the age, I'm guessing most, if any, sourcing isn't online. Not every umpire is notable. Take a look at WP:GNG. Onel5969 TT me 23:36, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply. There are some sources available for that period, which I'll review this week and look to flesh out the article. Dmoore5556 (talk) 02:45, 25 September 2017 (UTC)

Bambi

Forgive me for sounding pushy, but I would like to argue the reliability of the source that I found. The article is written by a highly respected animation historian on a site entirely dedicated to the research of animation history. He consulted two materials written by people who worked on the film and they claimed that Pearce did the voice. I have yet to find a reliable enough source to make the claim that Harlan did the voice. Not trying to sound rude, but I did want to make this known. Speedy deletion declined: Beto Kusyairy (actor)

Hello Onel5969. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Beto Kusyairy (actor), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: I don't speak Malay but judging by the article at ms:Beto Kusyairy he might (at least through GTranslate) indeed be notable. Thank you. SoWhy 14:00, 26 September 2017 (UTC)
