Superdome
I've heard the reports that they are considering tearing the Superdome down, however, no decision has been made yet. I also don't see how an object, a thing, a place, can actually be a current "event." Dr. Cash 02:08, 8 September 2005 (UTC)
CopyVio
Sorry, I've just had to remove your CopyVio notice on Rob Johnson and revert the work to the original stub I'd created before 152.163.100.199 added the massive copyright violation. In the future, it'd just be a nice touch if you'd check page history before slapping on a CopyVio, since the vast majority of CopyVios like that would otherwise be simply deleted after a week. If the page history suggests there was something there before the user posted a CopyVio, then simply revert the page (and warn the user, if particularly civil). Much thanks! Basketball Wikiproject?
Um, there is already an NBA wikiproject. So what exactly is the purpose of THIS project? Dknights411 05:39, 18 September 2005 (UTC)
Unless you'd like to cover all aspects of basketball, not only NBA... but then you could propose that on the NBA Project site. The NBA Project currently has more members, I think proposing to edit all basketball sites would be more useful than starting a new project. Regards, King 16:42, 23 October 2005 (UTC)
New username
- Please move User:WikiFan04 to User:WikiFanatic if you can. I already have edits on WikiFanatic. --WikiFanatic
- We can only move to an unused username. Secretlondon 00:38, 5 September 2005 (UTC)
- What we could do is move WikiFantic to some third name (like WikiFantic-old) and then move WikiFan to Wikifanatic. →Raul654 05:09, September 5, 2005 (UTC)
- They'd then lose any edits they made under the original WikiFanatic. Secretlondon 05:15, 5 September 2005 (UTC)

Journalist's RFA
I want to thank you very much for your vote on my RFA. Greatly apperciated. Ill make sure to address your concern Journalist | huh? 18 December 2024
I had no intention of hurting your feelings when I replaced "your" article with a redirect. Since the article had not been touched in a few days, and you did not respond to my comments on the talk page, I thought it was safe to assume it was not being actively worked on. The information was and still is a small subset of that already available at Mississippi. If you intend to create a separate page for the history of Mississippi, please include at least as much information as is already available in the main article. Oh, and there's no need to be rude. --Alynna 01:03, 28 September 2005 (UTC)
Please look at the article talk page before you revert the article again. --Alynna 17:31, 2 October 2005 (UTC)
You submitted this article to AfD, but inserted {{context}} instead of {{subst:afd}} into the article. I changed it to include the AfD notice. Just a quick note in case I miss-interpreted your intentions. --GraemeL (talk) 00:49, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
RFA
Sorry about that. There seems to be a mistake; maybe there was an edit conflict or something, but I would never intentionally jeprodise someones chances for a promotion. →Journalist >>talk<< 00:09, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
- So it seems, but the thing is, it showed that I vote twice. What initially happened was that I voted, but a sign saying page error came up, so i pressed backspace, then save. Maybe thats what happened. See, the edits are only one second apart, and even mistakenly shows me changing the tally in the oppose section from 2 to 1 [1] Anway, glad it was caught, no harm done. Again, I apologise. →Journalist >>talk<< 00:22, 4 October 2005 (UTC)

Edit summaries
I would recommend against running for admin at this moment in time. Reasons as follows:
- Your edit summary usage over the last 200 edits is 70.5%. Move it up over 80% at least. Try to make yourself do an edit summary for every edit, every time.
- Your average # of edits is 7.3 over the last 90 days. But, people are going to look at your joining Wikipedia with your first edit on March 15, 2004 and say "~1000 edits in a year and a half? Not enough." Increase your activity level.
- Your last RfA was only a month ago. I'd go at least another month; get the material that the negative comments on that old RfA are referring to further in the past.
- Your user page is, well, basic. That's no requirement for adminship, but some people like to see a nice user page for a nominee.
Be patient. Keep contributing. Keep it up, and you'll be an admin by Christmas. --Durin 02:56, 8 October 2005 (UTC)
Thank you for voting on my RfA
Dear WikiFanatic: Even though you voted Neutral on my candidacy, I would like to thank you for taking the time to vote on my RfA. Oppose and Neutral votes are as useful to me as Support votes, since they serve to highlight areas in which I can improve myself and become a better administrator. As my RfA was successful, I would be most grateful if you would please tell me how you would like to see me improve, and what areas you think I should work on, as I am always looking for feedback. I am most grateful for your assistance, and I look forward to working with you in the future. Best regards, --NicholasTurnbull | (talk) (e-mail) (cabal) 05:17, 8 October 2005 (UTC)
I'm trying to get around to everybody to thank them for their support, but you deserve more thanks than most since you were the first. This wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for you, I owe you my friend :-)
Please let me know if there's anything I can do as an admin to help you out here on Wikipedia. Karmafist 14:20, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
BillyH's RFA
Don't close adminship nominations. It is not your position to determine consensus in such cases, not to mention, of course, that you can't actually promote him, so you're not saving anyone any trouble. — Dan | Talk 23:06, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
Your recent post on Karmafist's talk page
Dear WikiFanatic,
I couldn't help but notice the recent response that you left to Karmafist's thanks for his RfA nomination; I thought that I should give you some guidance on how best to communicate here on Wikipedia. Your statement to the effect that he is "not your friend and never will be" was not particularly congenial; it is generally more productive to be more gracious, and accept thanks honourably rather than responding with somewhat abrasive language. I would like to please ask you to try not to "bite" people when they attempt to be nice to you. The policy Wikipedia:Civility has a good treatment of matters such as this; you may find it useful to read this page for guidance, and you should be aware that this is an official policy here on Wikipedia. In addition, Wikipedia:Wikiquette has some information that you may find useful. If you require any advice about editing on Wikipedia, please do contact me, or any other administrator, for guidance. Thank you.
Best regards,
--NicholasTurnbull | (talk) (e-mail) (cabal) 23:09, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
Enough is enough
Leave me alone, alright? You don't need to be my mentor, or give me any tips, or tell me how to be civil. Just leave me alone. You interrupted me nominating Wikiacc for admin. --WikiFanaticTalk Contribs 18:11, 10 October 2005 (CDT)
- OK, here's the short and sweet version. When you are incivil to another user, you are violating the civility policy - see Wikipedia:Civility. So that's one blockable offence. Bitching about administrator warnings or notices on talk pages is continuously irritating. You've been annoying and borderline trollish on Wikipedia and in the IRC channel. Nicholas is only attempting to help and you've behaved thoroughly despicably towards him.
- Please go and apologise to Nick, and then I urge you to take a week off Wikipedia, for all our sakes. In future, if you violate policies, you will be blocked. Rob Church Talk | FAD 23:31, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
Echoing Robchurch somewhat
What you did in nominating me was a positive gesture, regardless of my qualifications. Nick and Rob and me aren't your enemies, and with me, if you don't want me to be "fake" or what have you, please just say so. I used to be irked by such things, but then I realized there's just too much shit out there to worry about that kind of stuff.
You might also want to add yourself to The List of Aspergian Wikipedians. I found it somewhat cathartic. Karmafist 23:48, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
My Request for Adminship
I was going to wait until everything was over, but I felt I had to come and thank you in advance. I'm pleased that you appreciate all I'm interested in is the good of the community and the encyclopedia as a whole. Perhaps with a little loosening up and a bit of calming down, you might be tipped for adminship in a few month's time, when people have forgotten.
Anyway, thank you for your support; it means a lot to me, actually. Rob Church Talk | FAD 08:08, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

I appreciate your support! I know fully that adminship is nothing to be played with, and I will keep that in mind as I patrol Wikipedia. Denelson83 22:23, 14 October 2005 (UTC)
1000 edits
I wasn't speaking in terms of policy, I was trying to be realistic. Almost no one ever becomes an admin with only under 1000 edits. I think he had 700 or so edits and very little rfa or vfd activity- it was a nice way of advising him to withdraw because he had no chance. freestylefrappe 18:27, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
- I was not aware that you were Wikifan. Is that the RFA you mentioned? It's going back far enough that I think I'm confusing which RFA we're referring to. I've given up trying to convince users not to apply until 1,000 edits. Edit count has gone down greatly in terms of importance - clearly since Shauri and Wiglaf voted against me for my policy of at least 1,000. Also, there use to be a disclaimer on the Requests page that said "do not bother applying here until you have at least 1,000"- which was there for a while (though - to my knowledge - it wasnt official policy). freestylefrappe 14:35, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
- At over 1,000, I'd support right now. freestylefrappe 18:52, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

Welcome back to the Cabal, WikiFanatic
Dear WikiFanatic: I noticed that you re-added your name to the Cabalists list on Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal; firstly, I wish to welcome you back, and I am most glad that you have decided to join us again. I do, however, think it is best to warn you that it is likely in the future that others will criticise you in a similar manner that Kim Bruning did, and thought I should caution you that, whilst it is great that you still wish to be a mediator, you must be prepared to make sure that you don't take such comments to heart in the future. The reason for this is that mediators tend to be called names, put down, etc. by many people in POV disputes, for example, and I feel that otherwise I would be committing a huge failure on my part not to warn you of this. That said, we do have a lot of work at the moment that needs sorting out; if you are sure that you will be able to keep a cool head at all times, please do go ahead and jump in on any case you think needs some work! Your help is greatly appreciated by all of us down at the Cabal. Best regards, --NicholasTurnbull | (talk) 22:31, 5 November 2005 (UTC)
Samkon Gado
I already had created a page on Samkon Gado, but under Sam Gado. I don't know what we should do, I guess we should merge them and make one a redirect. Mine has a little more information than the one you made. Get back to me on what you think we should do. Thanks,--Alhutch 05:34, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
- I figure we should use Sam Gado as the title of the main article, since that seems to be what most media outlets are calling him. Samkon Gado can be the redirect so people will find him either way.--Alhutch 05:39, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
Oops.
I saw that someone had removed you again from the Mediation Cabal page, so I went to revert the edit. And somehow screwed up the edit summary so that it reads "Reverting vandalism by WikiFanatic." I have no idea how this happened, since what I typed out was "Reverting vandalism by 216.56.88.133 to previous version by WikiFanatic." I have no clue how the mix-up happened, but wanted to apologize in advance before you saw it and wondered who was slandering your good name. Sorry for the mix-up. → Ξxtreme Unction {yakłblah} 17:35, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
CrackTeam at CodeCentral ALERT!
Hi, Mr. WikiFanatic. I hate to bother you at this time, but my name is Greg from the CrackTeam at CodeCentral.
You may have noticed our edits recently (we share an IP with a school, and we regret any bad edits).
These are not bad-faith edits or what we consider trolling or vandalism. They're alerts from us, the CrackTeam at CodeCentral, telling you that your site is editable.
Most editable sites have been exploited by security flaws from attackers, as some websites became temporarily by the Sircam virus.
We don't know if your servers run Windows or Linux or not. If so, they can be vulnerable to viruses (Windows more than most).
Just wanted to let you know. Editable websites are a bad thing, and spyware, adware and viruses can happen to them (but not if you use a Macintosh usually).
Thank you,
The CrackTeam at CodeCentral
P.S. We sent this letter to Raul654, as well. We aim to send it to five more people to alert them about this sad travesty.
Could you please revisit the AFD on this article you nominated. It was suggested this could be redirected to List of minor Star Wars Jedi characters where he's already discussed in greater detail. If you were to withdrew your request to delete, this debate could be closed a lot sooner. - Mgm|(talk) 10:10, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

Sources for Tony Fisher (football player)
Hello, good work on Tony Fisher (football player), and thanks for the contribution. However, you did not any references to the article. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and as you might be aware there is currently a push to encourage editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. From what websites, books, or other places did you learn the information that you added to Tony Fisher (football player)? Would it be possible for you to mention them in the article? You can simply add links, or see WP:CITET if you wish to review some of the different citation methods. Thanks! Lupin|talk|popups 21:10, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
Sources for Revert of Louisiana
Hi just wondering as to your sources for the revert on the Louisiana article. There are two detailed discussions as to both the largest city and the status of civil law in the state of Louisiana. I am guessing that you reverted to before my last edit and did not mean to change the civil law text. I apologize if you feel I reverted your previous change of largest city, but I believed that this was debated already on the discussion page. Would you be amenable to a qualification that discusses the circumstances surrounding the change in population and that this population shift has not yet been confirmed by official government census? Could you please review my latest edit is see if you agree? Nolamgm 20:27, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
Question re your RFA
On your vote on Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Awolf002, you voted "Oppose per Aranda56". As you can see from my comments on that page, I believe Aranda56's stated reasoning is fundamentally destructive to Wikipedia. I cannot support adding more administrators whom I believe carelessly alienate the types of contributors we need to build a quality encyclopedia. Before I vote on your nomination, however, I invite you to explain your reasoning in your own words. Feel free to respond here if you like; I'll watch your page for the next day or two. -- DS1953 21:30, 5 December 2005 (UTC)

It's my pleasure to notify you that, consensus being reached, you're now a administrator. You may wish to read the reading list and how-to guide at your convenience. First, congratulations on becoming an administrator today. I see that you have closed this article as a delete. I think many (if not most) administrators would have called this a "no consensus". I believe that when you have a very close call like this, you owe it to the participants to at least show how you counted the votes and perhaps add a word or two of explanation if there are special circumstances (e.g., suspected sock puppets or meat puppets whose votes are discounted). -- DS1953 06:08, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
