Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, OmarFreeHumanity, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Question for administrator

[edit]
<Your Question>
--~~~~ my page was deleted , but it is only about information about the Slovak Rugby League , and yes i am part of the Slovak Rugby League but as a volunteer , i do not receive any money for this, we just wanted to make a Wikipedia page dedicated to the Slovak Rugby League as non exist yet. Please send me a copy of the draft for future use and explain what i need to do , for my page to be accepted? OmarFreeHumanity (talk) 19:36, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So "official Slovak Rugby League Recruitment manager" is an unpaid role? Even if so, you still must declare a conflict of interest(click for instructions). I can email you the text if you need it, but there is nothing there to turn into an article. Wikipedia is not a plave for organizations to tell about themselves. A Wikipedia article about an organization must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the organization, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable organization.
Keep in mind that the English Wikipedia has different standards than the Slovak Wikipedia; what is acceptable there is not necessarily acceptable here. 331dot (talk) 19:56, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes it is entirely unpaid, i am 100% volunteer , I make no money 0 money from this.
My nationality is Dutch , all we want to do is to create a page with in depth information about the Slovak Rugby League ,which is not a club.
It is a non-profit organization , overseeing the growth and development of Rugby League in Slovakia.
the information is the history , founding etc. and is supposed to be a general information page, you have pages like this one like the page of the European Rugby League.
this is about sports and we have had considerable local coverage in small media, radio and mainly social media.
we again and i repeat are a non profit organization for sports.
i am not promoting my own club , but just give some information about the Rugby League in Slovakia.
And about your statement regarding the English language i am fluent in seven different languages and Slovakia in in central Europe this is the European Union part of the civilized western world....I think that remark was a bit out of order OmarFreeHumanity (talk) 20:17, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The scope of this guideline covers all groups of people organized together for a purpose with the exception of non-profit educational institutions, religions or sects, and sports teams. this is about sports and nothing else , yes please send me the email OmarFreeHumanity (talk) 20:21, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
the information written in the article all come from online articles about the Slovak Rugby League and are not my personal opinion just to add OmarFreeHumanity (talk) 20:24, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The non-profit status of the League isn't important; Wikipedia's ban on promotion and conflict of interest policy apply equally to businesses, non-profits, other kinds of organisations, individuals, political causes, families, ideas, Minecraft servers etc. Yes there are pages on other organisations like the European Rugby League, but crucially, those pages were not written by people who are directly involved in those organisations. So it's not that there can never be a page about the Slovak Rugby League, it's that such a page would need to be written by someone else - someone who is not involved in the League.
If you re-read 331dot's comment about Slovak Wikipedia, you'll note that at no point did they question your command of English or any other language. They were merely saying that if you happen to have experience on Slovak-language Wikipedia, you should be aware that it is a separate project with a separate set of rules - all the different language Wikipedias are.
(I also think if we're going to talk about remarks that are "out of order", I really don't think we should be discussing the "the European Union part of the civilized western world" as if there are "uncivilized" parts of the world that are less worthy of respect.) (I also think if we're going to talk about remarks that are "out of order", I really don't think we should be discussing the "the European Union part of the civilized western world" as if there are "uncivilized" parts of the world that are less worthy of respect.) well my name is Omar and i get told that things work differently over here made me feel a bit discriminated , i don't think there are uncivilized parts of the world but that is what they always say to me OmarFreeHumanity (talk) 20:31, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I didn't know Omar was your name, and I guess I incorrectly assumed that someone editing about a Slovakia related topic was Slovak. 331dot (talk) 21:06, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't trying to discriminate, just saying different Wikipedias are different, no more, no less. Apologies. 331dot (talk) 21:08, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
