Welcome

[edit]

Hello OllieBowen28 and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your contributions do not conform to our policies. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox (but beware that the contents of the sandbox are deleted frequently) rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a Help desk, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! VVikingTalkEdits 18:29, 12 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, but my edit was not vandalism in any way. In fact, your edit of removing a perfectly fine contribution could be considered vandalism. You still have yet to provide a relevant reason for removing the edit. "WP is not a webhost" is simply not a legit reason. Please either provide a sufficient reason or add the fight song back. I understand you are just trying to help a new user, but I don't appreciate my contributions being reverted for no reason. OllieBowen28 (talk) 15:26, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I also see that you have linked an article next to your repetition of "WP is not a webhost." The article linked was completely unrelated to your statement. I read through the article, and I'm guessing that you are seeing my edit as a "Bold edit," and have reverted it. Then, we are supposed to begin a discussion of the revision. So, here is my POV on why my edit should be a part of Wikipedia.
I am a student at Mankato West High School. Recently, I have restored an old contribution by a fellow student. This contribution was the school's fight song. I believe that this is an important part of our school's culture and pride, and should be shown in the school's Wikipedia Page.
According to both articles you linked, the ones on vandalism and accepted contributions, my edit was not against any policies. If you have a policy in mind, please share it and how my contribution goes against it. OllieBowen28 (talk) 16:24, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please review WP:INDISCRIMINATE. Also WP:BRD VVikingTalkEdits 18:03, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I see you have linked the BRD article again. If you read my comments at all, you would see that I read through it already and understand the contents. As for the new one, The only one that could possibly apply to this situation is the paragraph on lyrics. However, the Mankato West High School page is not a song lyrics page. The song is not copyrighted. The song IS relevant to the page. You also didn't explain "WP is not a webhost" Have you read anything??? OllieBowen28 (talk) 21:35, 15 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
