Apertura/Clausura image

[edit]

Hey. There is a problem with the Apertura/Clausura image you made. Ecuador and Peru do not use the Apertura/Clausura system. Ecuador used it once in 2005 and Peru stopped using it last year. Both currently use a multistage seasons. It should be corrected. Thanks. Digirami (talk) 10:18, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Flag of Montevideo

[edit]

Hello! The problem is that the flag was invented by a user. Montevideo has no flag. Regards. MauriManya (talk) 16:50, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OK. Understand--Soul Train (talk) 17:17, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

But he is known worldwide as Radamel Falcao, and there's only ONE.

One day, if another Radamel Falcao appears, you can change it.

For example: Pizzi (Portuguese footballer) real name is 'Luís Miguel Afonso Fernandes' but the page isn't something like 'Luís Fernandes', right?

--Hydao (talk) 00:49, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • So what? It doesn't mean that Radamel don't have the surname. By the way, I watch for his appearences since he was River Plate player and he allways was Radamel Falcao Garcia for me. Furthermore, just look at Spanish Wiki, this article named just "Falcao Garcia". They know better; and I know better 'cause I'm specialist and professional in South American football.--Soul Train (talk) 06:36, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I guess you are right, but at least in Portugal he was always mentioned as Radamel Falcao. I never read and heard (on TV, journals, magazines, etcs) Falcao Garcia. --Hydao (talk) 07:03, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. This is the Official website: http://www.falcao.com.co/ ... check the external links from the article. Also, his personal twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/R9falcao

The player like to be treated only as Radamel Falcao, so let's not change the Wikipedia main title. --Hydao (talk) 07:31, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, well, it's just a fu*king surname..... In this case "García". Actually it's "funny" because his LAST surname is Zárate, not García. Anyway, in my opinion Radamel Falcao is OK, but let's see what other people/fans think about it. :) --Hydao (talk) 08:43, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I changed it again. Anyway, did you see the history of the talk page??

" 16:28, 20 April 2008 Sebisthlm (talk | contribs) m (215 bytes) (moved Talk:Radamel Falcao García to Talk:Radamel Falcao: WP:COMMON) (undo) "

They changed it for a reason, right? Pfft. --Hydao (talk) 09:46, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. Someone changed it again to Radamel Falcao again... See? I told you... I'm off now. --Hydao (talk) 09:50, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. --Hydao (talk) 09:59, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Soul Train

Hi Soul Train. I agree with that article in the Wiki can be written in English and in Spanish Wiki. I do not understand Russian, but if you do the translation I can help with the editing of the article. Regards. MauriManya (talk) 17:55, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That good. In the Spanish Wikipedia recently is featured article. With a Uruguayan Wikipedian we are beginning to translate the article in Spanish to English for improvement. [edit]

Привет Soul Train. I saw that edited the article List of countries with multiple capitals. The map[3] needs some changes: The countries whit more than one capital at present (in red), need to add Swaziland. In the countries whit more than one capital in the past (in light red) need to add China, Germany and Libya, and would have to change Philippines and the former Serbia and Montenegro. I hope your can update it. Thanks and regards. MauriManya (talk) 15:00, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Stories Project

[edit]

Hi!

My name is Victor and I'm a storyteller with the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit organization that supports Wikipedia. I'm chronicling the inspiring stories of the Wikipedia community around the world, including those from readers, editors, and donors. Stories are absolutely essential for any non-profit to persuade people to support the cause, and we know the vast network of people who make and use Wikipedia have so much to share.

I'm scouring user pages looking for inspiring, motivating and interesting stories of how Wikipedia has affected the lives of people. I'm asking questions like "How has Wikipedia changed your life?", "What's the most interesting story you have about Wikipedia?" and "Has Wikipedia ever surprised you?"

Last year, we used the annual fundraiser as a way to show the world who it is who actually writes Wikipedia. We featured editors from Brazil, Ukraine, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, India, United States and England. This campaign was a huge success, resulting in the most financially successful fundraising campaign ever. It was also a campaign that stayed true to the spirit of Wikipedia, educating the public that this free top-5 website is created by volunteers like you and I.

This year we want to highlight more Russian-language Wikipedia editors, so I am in the process of planning a trip to Russia to interview editors.

If you or someone you know (or have heard about) has been positively affected by Wikipedia, or have something interesting to say about Wikipedia I'd very much like to hear about it!

Please let me know if you're inclined to take part in the Wikipedia Stories Project, or if you know someone else with whom I should speak.

Of course, if you have any questions or concerns, please ask! I will answer as soon as I can. I apologize for any poor translation of this letter, I am using Google-translate. I hope it makes you laugh :)

Thank you for your time,

An article that could be expanded with translation from Lezgian Wikipedia

[edit]

Привет Soul Train,

I found that equivalent article to Khinalug language is a featured article in Lezgian Wikipedia (lez:Хинелугъ чIал) and that, compared to the Lezgian article, the English article is somewhat lacking. While tagging the English article with an "Expand language" template, I found that it's the first article that could be expanded with a translation from Lezgian Wikipedia.

I noticed that you are an admin in Lezgian Wikipedia, so do you know anyone who would be willing to translate the Lezgian article into English?

Thanks, DraconicDark (talk) 19:36, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hello. The author of this article, Aslan Xasiyev, is unfortunately not very active at the Lezgi WP recently. And I don’t think he could translate it into English. I am not a native speaker, I'm Russian ethnically. But I'll ask him, maybe he could give me Russian-language sources from which I could translate into English. — Soul Train (talk) 01:16, 6 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I don't this this DJ is notable. Please ping me. Bearian (talk) 19:55, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • He is a participant of Scooter, and also he was famous in the 1990s before he became a part of the Scooter (at least according to the project Shahin & Simon). This article is very poorly written, but Mr Simon without a doubt is a very notable DJ and musician. — Soul Train (talk) 09:24, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Diannaa, I have never seen this site. I translated parts of the text that were in the Russian Wikipedia. The coincidence probably turned out because the text indicates numerous renaming of this educational institution, and it is simply impossible to formulate it differently. For example, in this site they have a text “the Military Institute of Government Communications has been transformed into the Academy of the Federal Agency for Government Communications and Information under the President of the Russian Federation (abbreviated name - "Academy of FAPSI").” and in my version it is “In 2000, the Russian Government transformed the MIGC into the Academy of the Federal Agency for Government Communications and Information under the President of the Russian Federation (abbreviated as the FAPSI Academy)” — so how do you propose to change the full name? I don't need to copy anything, I'm interested in creating texts myself or translating. — Soul Train (talk) 21:07, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In that case the webpage I mentioned is a Wikipedia mirror. When copying/translating compatibly licensed content, such as from other-language Wikipedias, by the terms of our license, attribution is required. What this means is that you are supposed to say in your edit summary where you got the content. For example, for this article, you should have left an edit summary of "Attribution: text was copied/translated from ru:Академия ФСО России on February 18, 2022. Please see the history of that page for full attribution." Then, you are supposed to add a template to the talk page of the article {{translated page}}, which indicates where you got the content. Sorry for the mistake. Please ensure you follow these two steps, if you import and translate any material from other-language Wikipedias in the future. Thanks. — Diannaa (talk) 23:11, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    OK, no problem. — Soul Train (talk) 23:56, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
