Hi there oldrascal. I notice that you have twice removed the wikification and tone tags from this article. I am just about to replace them so could I please ask you not to remove them again until the article has been brought up to the required standard. The problems with it at the moment are that the formatting is non-standard, there are no internal links and it is written in an unencylopedic style. This is not a criticsm of the content or validity of the article.

You might find it helpful to read the Wikipedia manual of style which will give you some pointers both as to why the tags are valid and, if you were so minded, as to what steps you could take to clean up the article yourself (another purpose for the tags is to alert those editors who like copy editing & who could usefully contribute to Fractional sailing by addressing the style problems). Kind regards, • nancy13:43, 11 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well it is certainly going in the right direction. I am pushed for time this afternoon but am more than happy to do some work on the article over the next few days, especially with the formatting, and help to knock it in to shape. • nancy14:59, 11 August 2007 (UTC) p.s. What I want to know is why you are indoors editing Wikipedia when you could be out on a boat! (or are you editing from a boat??)[reply]

I don't know where you are based, Nancy (wasn't there a Sinatra song about you and do you have laughing eyes?) but if you live anywhere near the Solent this weekend it looks like a mad-house because of Cowes week. I was out sailing last weekend and its just damned dangerous out there. Having to avoid a massed racing fleet of 50 yachts all hell-bent at getting to the racing mark.....well its not my idea of fun. Oh well, it'll be over soon. But you are right, I am on my boat at its mooring.

I'm not that far away at all actually - near Maidenhead in Berkshire. Cowes week does seem like a good reason not to be out on the water, the racers are one thing but then you get the idiot day-trippers who shouldn't be allowed near a boat - have you seen this on the BBC website? • nancy21:05, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You haven't been around for a while and my talk page gets archived when things are seven days old so I thought I'd leave this link to my last reply in case you hadn't seen it as it is gone from my main page now. Kind regards, • nancy14:33, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
