From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hi Odysseas and thanks for your contributions on German military aircraft of World War II. Unfortunately, two of these articles (on the Messerschmitt P.1101 and Junkers EF 132) used so much text from http://www.luft46.com that it creates a potential copyright risk for Wikipedia. If you go to either of those pages now, you will find a link where you can upload a revised version in your own words to replace the problem text. Please also note that any images that Dan Johnson has created for his site also belong to him. Genuine wartime photographs and drawings are probably OK to use now.

You might also like to check out Wikipedia:WikiProject Aircraft, the effort to co-ordinate aircraft articles within the encyclopedia. I've updated Focke-Wulf Ta 183 to reflect the standard layout for aircraft pages (found here).

I hope all this hasn't put you off; and that we'll be seeing lots more contributions from you in this subject area! If you need to ask anything, please respond on my talk page. Cheers --Rlandmann 02:20, 29 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your understanding and for the work you did on the new version. Looks great! --Rlandmann 04:30, 30 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
One of the admins who take care of the Copyright Problems page will take care of replacing the old EF 132 article with the new one; usually this takes about a week from the time that the copyright problem is first noticed --Rlandmann 01:23, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)

urgent poll

[edit]

There is a poll in the talk page of Macedonian Slavs article here:

http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Talk:Macedonian_Slavs#The_poll

Some people are lobbying for changing the article's name to Macedonian without any qualifier. As it seems, a number of these people come from the Macedonian/Macedonian Slav wikipedia project. It seemed only fair to attract the attention of people possibly from the other side of the story. I hope that this message is of interest to you, if not please accept my apologies. Thanks and Request for Help

Thanks and Requests for Help

[edit]

Thank you for letting me know about the army reorganization. I had not heard about it.

I am thinking of moving the List of Hellenic Army Regiments to Formations of the Hellenic Army. I originally copied that template from the British Army page, and kept most of the categories it used, merely changing the "British" to "Hellenic. Now that I think about it, "list of regiments" is inappropriate in this case. It's more a list of divisions and brigades, and since some of the regiments are going to be deactivated and the Army reorganized, I think "Formations" is the best term to use for now.

Speaking of regiments, wonder if you know how the Proedriki Froura fit into things. Are they even a regiment, or are they battalion-sized? I can't find them on the Hellenic Army website, but they are part of the army, aren't they? Are they attached to one of the divisions, or do they have a separate command? And what about the Hellenic Forces Regiment on Cyprus?

Also, I wonder if you could take a look at this article: General Trikupis. It's not good Wikipedia style to have "General ____," you're supposed to put his first name. I have searched the Internet in English an Greek and I can't find his name, nor much about him. Was he a relative of Spyridon and Harilaos?

Redirected to Nikolaos Trikoupis, based on a very short paragraph from a greek history book. It is likely that he was a relative, but I have no source to confirm that.

Thanks for any help you can give. --Jpbrenna 6 July 2005 16:46 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Greek Wikipedians' notice board - new place to coordinate on articles. Add things to the to do list, and add yourself to the list of Greek Wikipedians (there is a link at the top of the page). --Jpbrenna 7 July 2005 13:12 (UTC)

I have found conflicting sources on this. The official Hellenic Navy page says that this is the ex-Peter Florisz of the Royal Netherlands Navy; however, gobalsecurity.org says the latest acquisition is the Peter Florisz, and implies that the Elli was a Dutch-built ship that was cancelled by the Dutch government and purchased by the Greeks while it was still being finished. Which is correct? --Jpbrenna 02:02, 12 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

VMORO

[edit]

I don't have time to translate it all but if you are interested in the spirit in which they are written: it is pretty much a fair description of the events without taking a standpoint, it is said nowhere that the ancient Macedonians are ancestors of the present-day Macedonians, but neither that they were Greeks. To a large extent impartial and NPOV articles. VMORO 17:43, July 21, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Averof 1911.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairuse}}.) See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Arnie587 20:56, 2 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
