[edit]Hello! You have done a great job on your article draft. Here is what I appreciated:
- Your tone is appropriate for an Encyclopedia article. I did not sense bias, and I like how you refer to "theories".
- Your sections are sorted nicely. They make the article easy to follow.
I made a few small spelling/grammar edits. Here are some additional suggestions I have for you:
- Add Wikipedia links to key terms in your draft. For example, to "Pacific Plate", "Nazca Plate", "East Pacific Rise", etc.
- IMPORTANT! Add numbered citations within the text! You have listed your references, but which reference leads to which piece of information?
(For example, "Since then, the growth of the plate has been theorized to be influenced by spreading ridges between..." Which sources reveal/emphasize this information?)
- Your references seem appropriate. However, I think you should add a link to each one, so a reader may also view them.
(To do this in my draft, I: 1) Found the full text of a reference online, 2) highlighted the title of the reference in my draft, 3) clicked the link button, 4) pasted in the full text URL.)
- Consider adding a section on how the Juan Fernandez Plate is studied (and maybe, who studies it). You could look at 'Methods' sections for this.
- Adding even a simple image of the Juan Fernandez Plate can be helpful to a reader, as a visual aid.
(It would be particularly insightful if you added an image in which the surrounding plates are also labeled, to display their relationships.)
I understand if you are planning on doing some of these things when you update the official article. I hope this review is helpful! Surbhi ghadia (talk) 23:45, 20 May 2017 (UTC)
Hey! I also think that you have done a good job outlining your topic. I agree with the editor above, you need to link main ideas to the corresponding wikipedia pages, and you need to add the references to the specific information that you have in your article. I think that this article needs visuals, I was only able to follow your topic as I had seen you present on it in class with pictures, please find some sort of visual representation of your plate so that it may be easier for the reader to follow along. The article may also benefit from a section on how the plate was created, not just how it was discovered. Jpez315 (talk) 17:13, 23 May 2017 (UTC)
