Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:George Chapman, from its old location at User:Nzinferno/sandbox/Sir George Chapman. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. — Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 09:18, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced BLP

[edit]

Hi Nzinferno, you have added a lot of material to the George Chapman (party president) article. Sourcing requirements for biographies of living people (BLPs) are quite strict and you either need to provide sources pronto or the additional material will have to be removed again. See this page how to go about this. Or ask (here's good). Schwede66 02:41, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, the page is about a relative and he has asked me to add his working life information to the page. It was created by someone who was doing a history of the city he lives in. He wanted it to not just be about his public life. The only reference I have for the information is his Who's Who article he has given me, the companies records for Directors and Board positions are not readily available. It's basically his CV even though he is long retired at 91. I've never edited a Wiki page before so any advice you can give me would be helpful. I've tried to explain what Wikipedia is but he just wanted to see the correct information on the site.
edit - I have some links that have some of the details, including an oral history from an interview.

Well, that's the next problem. You cannot edit the page of a person you are close to under our conflict of interest guidelines. I thus suggest that you stop editing this page and I, or others, will take over. Do you know which edition of Who is who he's in? I'm sorry for having to be a pain. What you could usefully do is to take a photo of Sir George and make that available to Wikipedia. Needs to be freely licensed. You can email the photo to me and I'll deal with it; that could be the easiest way forward. Schwede66 05:05, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the info. I did read about the living persons/closeness but figured since I was just listing job titles/positions it was sufficiently impartial. He's in every edition of the Who's Who since at least 2000, the page I have is from the 2004 edition.

I have many photos, so I'll ask which one he wants to use.

What's your email?
