Year 15?

[edit]

I see that some New Zealand high school articles say they cater for years 9-15. I thought year 13 was the final year, corresponding to what used to be seventh form. Is there something beyond this, or is the 15 just a typo?-gadfium 03:42, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that year 14-15 is for adults who are returning to school. Nzgabriel 22:29, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Linking directly to the experiments sounds great to me. I deleted because I ran straight into products for sale. Did I delete this one twice? If so I apologize. I try to avoid serial deletion/reversion cycles. Keep up the good work. CheersDmccabe

Auckland Meetup 2 Scheduled - Feb 10 2007

[edit]

Hi. Am not sure where you are in NZ. Hoping you are in Auckland or nearby. Anyway you are invited to Auckland Meetup 2 on the afternoon of Saturday February 10th 2007 at Galbraith's Ale House in Mt Eden. Please see Wikipedia:Meetup/Auckland 2 for details. You can also bookmark Wikipedia:Meetup/Auckland to be informed of future NZ meetups. - Linnah 10:56, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Nzgabriel. Are you associated with the Netconcepts company? EdJohnston 04:15, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wondering if I'm a stooge eh? ;-) I'm 16-years-old and a full-time high school student. In my spare time, I write for Wikinews, Wikipedia, and recently, Practical eCommerce. I draw inspiration for what I write about from things I read and watch, people I meet, and generally things that interest me (including e-commerce and search engines). I follow some local (Christchurch) companies including Netconcepts. Sometimes the things I write about get me noticed (I got to know a couple people at Netconcepts because of some of the writing I've done), which is cool when it happens but I'm not here just to network. Don't worry, I always keep a NPOV when I write. :-) Even when it gets me in trouble (like it did here Talk:SLI_Systems). Nzgabriel 08:47, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply. I was just slightly alarmed when you edited something on my User Talk page concerning Netconcepts. Generally, per WP:TALK, other users' comments are not corrected. I didn't see anything amiss in your treatment of SLI Systems, by the way. EdJohnston 04:17, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, and sorry I edited your comment. Nzgabriel 04:22, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You edited my sandbox!

[edit]

Hi Nzgabriel - I was bemused to find you had edited my sandbox. Hope you won't be offended when I rake it over. I just use my sandbox as an area to try out ideas or accumulate jottings. It's probably a better use of your time to edit real articles ;)

Cheers - Euchiasmus 07:43, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Whoops, sorry. Nzgabriel 08:47, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Hanes.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Hanes.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Sli systems.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 02:43, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Topbar2 new.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Topbar2 new.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 19:35, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Product Development and Management Association, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Product Development and Management Association. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Guy (Help!) 20:17, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Gabriel. I have never considered you a COI-affected editor. I notice that you are the creator of the PDMA article. It *does* have a serious problem that it is almost entirely sourced to PDMA-generated materials. I wonder if you have any access to more information about PDMA, or if you based your original article-writing on their website? I see that they don't do a very good job of explaining what they actually do. I believe the article can be saved, but some of the criticisms of its current state are valid. Do you have any time to spend improving the article? I do have some ideas. EdJohnston (talk) 21:56, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I do have some time to spend trying to improve this article. What are your ideas, Ed? Nzgabriel (talk) 23:47, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of C&H Distributors

[edit]

An editor has nominated C&H Distributors, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/C&H Distributors and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:14, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Budget Truck Rental logo.gif. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

File source problem with File:HanesBrands.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:HanesBrands.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:29, 23 February 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 16:29, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 10:08, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Lightbox (New Zealand), and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Lightbox New Zealand. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 06:35, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Roger Love, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
