Proposed deletion of Prison Break (Season 2)

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Prison Break (Season 2), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No references whatsoever, no claim of notability, just a list of episodes and short plot summary for each.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Raven1977 (talk) 00:59, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

I disagreed with the prod, so I removed it. Rationale is in the edit summary of the removal. - NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 01:01, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
I'll be back in 1 hour, if you want to comment. - NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 01:01, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
That's fine, thanks for letting me know. If you're planning on expanding it, I'm more than willing to let it be for now. I also just proposed deletion on Prison Break (Season 3), but now that I know you're working on these, I have removed the proposed deletion. I'm always willing to give an article a chance, if the author/editor on it has expressed that it's still being worked on. Raven1977 (talk) 01:07, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Thank you. - NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 02:59, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

Dear NuclearWarfare: I was going through the pending requests at Category:Pending Afc requests and when I got to Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Submissions/james crean I saw you had already declined it. However, you had left the original {{AFC submission}} template intact and added your own new one at the bottom. Unfortunately, leaving the {{AFC submission}} intact leaves the page in the pending requests category. I went ahead and added a D flag to the original template, here, but did not otherwise alter your edit. Normally, when a submission is declined, the original {{AFC submission}} template is modified with the decline flag and reason, rather than a new one added. That changes the display mode of the template from pending to declined and displays the reason right there. I just wanted to let you know, because it looks like you haven't closed out a submission before. Anyways, It's nice to have an excuse to write you. I've seen you around a lot, and it's nice to finally meet you. ⇔ ÆS dt @ 10:08, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Well, thank you very much for fixing my error. I had never answered and AfC before, so I was somewhat confused, and I couldn't figure out how to use the script. But I think I have figured it out now, so thank you. But could I ask of you a favor? Where is the exact link to go to use the script, because I can't seem to find the correct page.
And you have seen me around a lot? Must mean I'm getting kind of famous ;) Nice to meet you too and have a lovely day. - NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 16:29, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Hmm. Honestly, I'm not sure about the script. I just edit in {{AFC submission|D|(reason flag)|(optional extras for reason flag)|... by hand based on the instructions here, but using the expanded set of decline reasons semi-secretly listed here, which includes the handy choose-your-own-reason option not included in the standard instructions. ⇔ ÆS dt @ 20:52, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Wow, thank you! - NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 22:53, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
How on earth did you manage that? Oh, and your signature looks like a broken Wikilink. DARTH PANDAduel 16:09, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
Wanna come up with a better one for me then? Also, I just added the sig as normal, and then manually corrected the year. - NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 02:08, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
No. I'm too lazy. I'm not a sig designer anyways, so you'd have to steal ideas from some others floating around. I'm sure there are plenty to steal from :P DARTH PANDAduel 02:19, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

RfA thanks

The RfA Barnstar
NuclearWarfare, I would like to thank you for your participation in my recent Request for Adminship, which passed with 112 supports, 4 opposes and 5 neutrals. A special mention goes out to Stwalkerster and Pedro for nominating me, thanks a lot for having trust in me! In response to the neutrals, I will try to double check articles that have been tagged for speedy deletion before I CSD them and will start off slowly with the drama boards of ANI and AN to ensure that I get used to them. In response to the oppose !votes on my RfA, I will check that any images I use meet the non-free content criteria and will attempt to handle any disputes or queries as well as I can. If you need my help at all, feel free to simply ask at my talk page and I'll see if I can help. Once again, thank you for your participation, and have a great day! :) The Helpful One 22:11, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Please note that an orphaned fair use image isn't supposed to be deleted immediately. In stead, it's supposed to be tagged with a {{subst:orfud}} - and this template becomes a speedy tag after a week. I believe the reason for this is to prevent users from gaming the system by removing the images from the articles in order that it will be speedy deleted soon. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 16:09, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Actually, the reason I did that was because we had come to a consensus on the FAC to not use that image, so I figured there was no need to wait out the week. If you feel that we should though, you are welcome to put the ORFUD tag on. - NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 23:58, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Hello, can you please help me? (I'm so desperated) This contributor 121.9.230.162 looks like Z19Ak3jh / Yaneleksuklus / or many (his) others socketpuppet usernicks.

FAC

Is there any way at all for you to get a hold of the Sozin's Comet DVD? Inactivity on a FAC is time wasted and such FACs are usually Not Promoted by Sandy half-way down the list; per my own experience. So if production can be reasonably expanded within this time, then perhaps the FAC nitpicking can continue.

I never liked stand-stills. But if you're unable to get a copy, that's perfectly fine. Have you contacted Derek? I don't think he's been on Wikipedia for a while... :( --haha169 (talk) 05:09, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

FLC

While we're waiting, do you have any suggestions to bring Season 3 up to par? --haha169 (talk) 05:11, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

I'm still trying to go through the episode summaries. Perhaps you could help with that. A little notice about Sozin's Comet in the Reception area might also be a good idea. That's about it though :) - NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 05:16, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Ah, yes, edit summaries need help. And Season 3 got nominated for 2 Annie Awards, so that could be added to the reception as well. I'll work on it tomorrow. --haha169 (talk) 06:42, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Just a note

that I edited your comment at VPR: [1] to remove your specific comment about rogue admin actions. You are entirely correct that the vandalism you consider is both extremely disruptive and very, very difficult to revert; it would not require developer intervention, but it would take up a huge amount of someone's time and an awful lot of deletion log entries. Best that we don't give anyone any bright ideas. I hope you don't mind me editing your post in this fashion. Happymelon 16:49, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Book 3 Volume 4 Avatar.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Book 3 Volume 4 Avatar.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:25, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

My Userpage

NuclearWarfare, your opinion is appreciated

Hello NuclearWarfare, and first of all, thank you for your time. I am seeking input regarding my userpage. My userpage, and the header for the rest of my pages, reflects my personality, that is to say they are incredibly quirky. While this appeals to me, I would greatly appreciate the opinions of other editors I have interacted with on the site. So, as an editor I have come to respect, I kindly beseech you to place any comments, ideas, or opinions you may have on the subject of my userpage or page navigation header bar on the corresponding talk page. Thank you friend, and cheers! Scapler (talk) 17:49, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

You asked me to find the director, who was already listed on the pages for both season 1 and season 2. The production code, I think, is a wholly U.S. issue, as I have yet to see another anime episode listing with it. I'm surprised there weren't any other issues :D DARTH PANDAduel 04:01, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
Touched up on my comments. I also added a note about the Reception and Production of all three. - NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 04:03, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
Not to consistently badger you or anything (though it's getting quite fun), aren't "reception" and "production" concerns for the main article page? List of YuYu Hakusho episodes, a featured article, has neither. I noticed that List of YuYu Hakusho episodes has leads for each episode listing, so I'll add that to the todo. DARTH PANDAduel 04:08, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
Well, for my individual Avatar article seasons, there are two or three paragraphs on the production and cast of that indivudal season, and there might be one on reception. It's not really that much, but it is a basic overview. If you want, just steal it from the main article. - NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 04:11, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure WP:TV and WP:US-TOON have drastically different guidelines from WP:ANIME. It seems quite odd, but I'll poke a round a bit more to confirm my views. DARTH PANDAduel 04:15, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Good luck

Good luck on the RfA. I've been busy and I just got around to reviewing your new and old RfA and I am actually shocked that the userbox was an issue. While some people are clearly 'extra touchy', I could not see how it was made into such a ridiculous row. Essentially you were discriminated against for your lack of religious belief, which to me is the same as discrimination of someone based on their religious belief. Both are equally wrong. Therefore good luck! Nja247 (talkcontribs) 17:33, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi NuclearWarfare, just a note to say I've added my thoughts to your RFA. It is more an indication that I think that being an Admin is not especially important than anything else. Also, overly discussing IRC can reflect badly on you. IRC activity has led some editors to believe that what happens at Wikipedia is decided off-wiki. I'm not endorsing this interpretation or implying that you have done something like this but I think you should be aware that IRC can seem quite alienating for some people. Anywho, whether you get the tools or you don't I think you're a fine contributor. Take care. Sillyfolkboy (talk) 03:52, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for your comment :) - NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 03:55, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
Ah well, pop goes the RfA weasel. Withdrawal was probably for the best and I'm sure you can do without the stress. Perhaps you should consider an editor review at some point in the future, I'm sure you can turn negatives into positives with a few pointers from those who opposed the nomination. Good luck! Sillyfolkboy (talk) 04:45, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
I actually was thinking about performing an RfA post-mortem in a few days and inviting comment. Perhaps a general editor review would be a good idea too. - NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 04:46, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Hello,
Here I'm to report you one curious problem that Wikipedia have. Socket puppet (I think) of yanklekeus returned back and he start again demolizing wikipedia and its articles.
So now I would like to report Disco article, NY garage music article, Disco template, Disco infobox (nah, enough is Disco infobox) to "Requests for page protection" (that step you adviced me if somebody will vandalised wikipedia's Disco section again)
Here he is (yankeklekklus/82.209.211.120) vandalising that disco template again although other editor warned him.

I knew that you were planning on it based upon your email to me as well. I will try to do a detailed review of you this weekend... I can't promise anything about coaching right now... AfC news

Dear AfC participant,

  1. Msgj and Tnxman307 are organising the AfC challenge! It's a little competition to help improve some of the articles created through AfC and we are hoping that everyone will get involved. For level 1, you just need to bring a stub up to Start-class. Level 2 is improving a Start-class article to C-class. And so on. To get involved or for more information please see the competition page.
  2. Those of you who haven't reviewed an article recently might not have noticed the new process that was implemented this year. Reviewing articles is now more enjoyable than ever :) You might like to give it a try. All articles waiting for review are in Category:Pending Afc requests. (Please read the updated instructions.)
  3. Please consider adding {{AFC status}} to your userpage to keep track of the number of articles waiting for review. At the time of writing we are officially backlogged, so help is needed!
  4. There is currently a proposal to bring the Images for upload process under the umbrella of WikiProject Articles for creation. The rationale is that both processes are designed to allow unregistered users to take part more fully in Wikipedia, and partipants in each process can probably help each other.

If you no longer wish to receive messages from WikiProject Articles for creation, please remove your name from this list. Thank you.

Hi. I've reverted your edit to List of solar eclipses in the 21st century [3] because both of the changes you made were incorrect. You removed the leading "0"'s from the convert table, which broke the sort feature for that column (e.g. it was putting 13 after 100), and "south Africa" is not "South Africa" - the latter is a country (see South Africa), the former is the southern half of a continent. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 09:07, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Oh I'm sorry. When I looked over that edit, I thought it would be all right, but I guess not. I'll add this to my list of things to make sure of before hitting save. - NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 16:48, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

BLP Flagged Revisions

The !vote at WP:Protecting_BLP_articles_feeler_survey#Oppose Flagged Revisions for all BLPs is currently 51 to 8; my sense is that it's going to pass. However, just as in the previous 3 times we've voted on Flagged Revisions (when it didn't pass), the supporters have made an effort to respond to the legitimate concerns of the opposition ... and you guys have legitimate concerns. Your concern was that we shouldn't set this in stone, it should be a trial. The folks who have been around for a while generally have "got it" that we're not omniscient, and that anything new is a trial. If it does turn out that this is going to pass, I think it would be helpful if we got overwhelming support (so that people who enjoy vandalizing BLP articles can't claim that what we're doing is "illegitimate"). Would you consider switching your vote to the support column, making it clear that your support is conditional on taking a hard look at the data for 3 months and discontinuing if the test is unsuccessful? (I'm watchlisting for a few days.) - Dan Dank55 (send/receive) 15:21, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Hey there. Thanks for your post. I followed up your post a clarification, which is probably not what you wanted to hear, but still, it is something that I feel reflects my beliefs on any sort of trial. - NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 16:59, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
Smaller trials have gotten support in the past; I'm kind of surprised myself that you're the only vote in that direction this time around. Perhaps if the vote passes for all BLPs, we could focus on a more reasonably sized subset for our trial data. - Dan Dank55 (send/receive) 18:20, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:AWB screenshot.JPG)

Thanks for uploading File:AWB screenshot.JPG.

Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:06, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Year items in World Science Festival

I'm wondering whether the redundant citation information ("year=2008") you removed from World Science Festival really is redundant. I put it in believing that the year, even if not displayed, was important for some automatic read-out of the bibliographic information (which, after all, is one of the reasons for using citation templates - and I'm pretty sure, for instance, that Harvnb-style references need the year given explicitly, and cannot derive it from the date). If you're 100% sure that the tags are not needed, fine, but if not, please be kind enough to put them back. Markus Poessel (talk) 12:29, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

From look at the current one versus the old one, I actually cannot find any effects of the removal at all in the reflist. Which is interesting, because I thought the old one would have added a double year, but apparently the cite templates are smart enough to parse them out. If you find any evidence that this messed up your citing, feel free to change it back. NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 16:00, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
No, I'm aware it doesn't make a difference in appearance. I'm talking about automatic harvesting of references, and about people reusing them and wanting to use the Harvnb style there (the latter admittedly not all that likely, since the references are rather specialized). I guess I'll leave things as they are now, and see. I guess the issue is not as urgent for this article as it would be for others. Markus Poessel (talk) 13:43, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

Prison Break

Thanks, although I don't really consider myself to be a WikiDragon, maybe a Wikipedia:WikiFairy? You may have noticed I made some pretty heavy edits on the main Prison Break page. I removed a lot of POV and merged a lot of really short paragraphs. I also increased the lead, and trimmed (or removed most of) the television section under distribution. Your thoughts? Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 01:45, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Nothing to say but "Excellent!" You managed to save the important imformation and cut what was unneeded. Great job! - NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 01:49, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. I noticed that you switched Michael and Lincoln; while I agree that the series basically focuses on Michael, Lincoln receives first billing and should be mentioned first. I'll leave the decision up to you. Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 02:04, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

With the season articles, I recommend removing the distribution sections. There's nothing wrong with the one on Prison Break (season 1), but you don't really need to add one for season 3. And also, are you planning to get each season up to Featured List status? Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 03:34, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Featured Lists are my eventual goal for all 4 (+ future) seasons.
As for the distribution, they could probably get merged into reception or even cut, as the information is already in the main Prison Break article, correct? - NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 03:41, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
Cool. Well I'll be here to help anytime. I agree, since the distribution info is already in the main page, it can probably be cut from the individual season pages. Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 07:42, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Nice work on Prison Break (season 1). Just a tip, I wouldn't really link any of the characters in the episode table, unless they haven't been mentioned before. I have also nominated Prison Break (season 2) for FL. Have a look. Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 00:43, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

The season 2 article is excellent (as is all your other work :) ). However, I'd try to work on expanding the episode summaries to more than a few sentences, like I'm trying to do with season 1. I can help with that if you wish. - NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 00:45, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the help, and season 1 is looking great. I had been trying to avoid doing that (increasing the summaries), but I guess I can have a go. I think three lines is a good length. I'll increase the lengths, and tell you to look over it once I am done. Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 02:26, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
To be fair, I didn't write much of season 1. A lot of it was just stolen from the main page. As for the length, five lines is probably better. That should be enough to sum up the major plot points. - NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 02:45, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Five lines? I think that's too much. I started working on the summaries on the season 2 page, and the revised ones are three to four lines. Have a look and tell me what you think. Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 05:19, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
I have finished expanding the summaries. Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 00:10, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for addressing Rambo's Revenge's comments. I had to through the article again and fix the publisher sections, please make sure to link the publishers next time! :) And I don't think that Rambo's concern with the refs was valid, I have seen many articles where the ref does not use the template. Anyways, thanks for fixing them, it must have taken a while. :) Also, a user changed the cast section and made Bellick a main character. I actually think that the IGN ref is wrong, and that Williams did indeed receive star billing. I tried to find a ref, but to no avail. Could you have a try? Thanks. Images on wikipedia

Hi, I have a (hopefully) quick question for you. I spoke with you the other day on the wikipedia-en-help IRC channel about the Den Schliker article. The article creator has asked me to upload a picture of the subject. He posted the link on my talk page in this post (later signing it when he logged in). I don't really know how to go about getting that uploaded (copyright vio and all that). The picture's filename says that it is "for media free for use", but I didn't find the same picture (with that filename) on his website. Any info or help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Killiondude (talk) 22:49, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

The best option for that is to have him go on somewhere on his website and write "http://www.denschliker.com/Den.Schliker_photo.for.media.free.for.use.jpg is licensed under the GNU Free Documentation License v1.3 and later." That will allow us to use it on Wikipedia.

UAA report of "Gay john"

On UAA, you reported the name "Gay john" and labeled it "offensive". It looks to me like you're trying to enforce your personal morality using a username block. Don't do that.

On the chance that you were objecting to "john" and not "gay", taking it to refer to a man who solicits a prostitute instead of being someone's name, I'd consider that quite a stretch and encourage you to AGF. Besides, that's not what the "offensive username" policy is for. It's not for things you find distasteful; it's for blocking names that would actively offend people, such as racial slurs, attacks on people, names with swastikas in them, and so on. rspεεr (talk) 10:26, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Now, I wasn't trying to enforce any personal morality here; I have no issues with LGBT people at all. But when I saw the combination of gay AND john, well, perhaps my mind leapt to the gutter. I apologize for the report, and I thank you for bringing this to my attention. I'll try not to make a similar mistake in the future. NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 18:48, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

En dashes

Hi. In this cleanup AWB edit, you unspaced endashes that should be spaced per MOS:ENDASH "Spaced en dashes as an alternative to em dashes: Spaced en dashes – such as here – can be used instead of unspaced em dashes in all of the ways discussed above. Spaced en dashes are used by several major publishers, to the complete exclusion of em dashes. One style should be used consistently in an article." It's a little cumbersome to undo this manually again, so maybe you have something at hand to fix this that doesn't involve undoing the whole edit? (I really hate emdashes and would like to get the spaced endashes back.) – sgeureka tc 20:50, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Hmmm, that's interesting; I didn't know that. I'll pop a note to the user whose module I'm using, but feel free to rollback my edit, as I don't have anything that can quickly undo it. Don't forget to refix the spelling through :) NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 20:54, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Re: RfA

In all honesty, i have a bunch of reasons why I'm giving up. Doesn't have to do with the change in how Suntag's is going, this was going to be my final one whichever way it went. Mostly, I figure ArbCom will take up too much of my time for me to be paying attention to that. But I'm an honest person, I hope, and I don't mind sharing my real reasons. You know how a buttload of people say RfA is broken? ...I'm starting to think they're right. I think more people resigned from adminship this month then obtained it, and that is a very bad sign, one of many that RfA has seen this year. I don't want to subject people to it anymore. I guess you could say I take my noms too seriously, I think I'm more hurt when they fail than they are :) I could go on, but I think you have the gist of my getting tired of it. Regarding your edit to Aang

Please do not replace hidden messages with slanderous content for no reason, as you did here. That message was obviously put there to keep people from repeatedly changing that sourced statement. Use Talk:Aang and not my talk page if you have questions, comments or concerns. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 18:33, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Please refactor and assume good faith. My message was not slanderous and it was a merge from the season articles. I've been one of the key figures at this Task Force for the last few months; I know what I'm doing. NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 18:35, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Refactor what? See WP:AGF yourself. I have been watching the Aang article for a little over a year, so I probably know more than you. What you did was not a merge. Again, you deliberately wrote in a random factoid over a hidden comment that was intended to keep people away from editing a sourced fact. If you have a reliable source that says Katara is Aang's girlfriend, by all means, put it in but not over legitimate content. Now if you're gonna reply please do so on your talk page and do not send me another one of those dreadful "talkbacks" (this conversation is on my watchlist). Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 18:49, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
I did not add any "slanderous content" there. Can you even add slanderous content to a fictional character? Anyway, there is no need for this conflict. The reason removed the hidden comment and added the information was based on comments on Talk:Sozin's Comet, where requests for adding this have been perennial. I went back to the article and found a source for my edit, which I added here. If you disagree, can you tell me what you think please? NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 19:03, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
I guess it's fine. Let's see what others think. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 19:16, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Even with a source, the kiss was only a very minor part of the show. The plot revolved around the groups quest to defeat the fire lord. I could see mentioning the kiss if the show had a romantic plot, but it doesn't. Continually adding relationship info to all of the character pages just encourages further 'shipping' edits from other editors. We've had countless discussions about this before. --Ghostexorcist (talk) 20:21, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
The show's plot definitely was about defeating the subplot. But there were undertones of a romantic subplot throughout all three seasons for sure. We should attempt to give due weight to each of the features of the show. Since perhaps 99.5% of the show was about defeating the Fire Lord and Zuko's quest, at least 98% of the plot summary should be about those two plots. But why should the other 0.5% of the character bios (half a sentence) not be about the romantic subplot? And I see no evidence that including this will lead to overdetailing of other minor details. Saying that the show is just about defeating the firelord is dumb. If you've watched the shoe at all you know that there are mutiple plot lines that are explored within the show. Some effect certain characters more than others. One that majorly effects Aang is his relationship with Katara. -Dylan0513 (talk) 23:12, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Just got your message. This is a discussion that should have been continued on the Aang and Katara's individual pages. --Ghostexorcist (talk) 12:47, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

AWB needlessly shuffling whitespace

Hi, can you set your browser to not mess with whitespace so much? It's stripping trailing spaces indiscriminately as in this edit. This is minor, but if a change isn't making things better it is making them worse, by breaking the consistency and readability of the wikicode, and adding a lot of useless lines to the diffs. Michael Z. 2008-12-27 17:33 z

Well, the main point of that was to add the reflist. The whitespace is useless anyway and ought to be stripped normally; why not do it? It cuts down on the size of the article, even if it is just by a little. NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 22:41, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
No, the whitespace isn't and oughtn't. It is copied and pasted from the sample blank template in its documentation, and serves to make the wikitext a bit more readable. When someone adds more data fields, the spacing will remain consistent and just as clear. I agree that this is trivially unimportant, but then it deleting the whitespace makes things trivially worse. Michael Z. 2008-12-29 06:45 z
Oh really? I'm so sorry then. I'll refrain from doing so in the future then. Thank you for informing me; I was unaware of this fact. NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 16:51, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Bills of Credit, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to a user page from the main/article space.

If you can fix the redirect to point to a regular Wikipedia article rather than a user page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, you can request that administrators wait a while before deleting it. Year v. date in Cite Paper

Hi there, tks for tidying that citation in George Jones (RAAF officer). I did revert the change to the Cite Paper ref - the date doesn't appear when you use a "year" parameter, only when you use "date". Perhaps there's a bug in the template, but I've just gotten used to using the parameter that works - thought I should let you know... Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 23:53, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

That's an interesting bug indeed; it definitely should work. I'll see if I can figure out why, and thanks for letting me know :) NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 01:24, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Fed up

Hi. I'm fed up with having to put up with a certain editor's irrational, inconsistent, unpredictable, incommunicative, narrow minded, uncompromising, uncooperative, arrogant and stubborn behaviour.
I'm also fed up with how this editor "plays the system" and seems to get away with attrocius behaviour without any consequences.
And I'm also fed up with the amount of my time that is being wasted by this editor.
I see that you have had interactions with this editor, and that you have observed this editor's unacceptable behaviour.
Do you know if anything can be done about this editor's unacceptable behaviour?
Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 07:00, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
P.S. I like your quote from "Essjay". Yes, I am completely convinced that improving the behaviour of the-editor-in-question will indeed make WP a better place. Pdfpdf (talk) 07:00, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Hey there! As a matter of fact, I have Lord S. watchlisted, and I saw your conversation with him last night, which was really you being reasonable and him just blanking your posts. Anyway, I was very close to filing an ANI report last night, but I was unsure it that was really merited at this stage. I resolved to watch his edits some more and go through with that report filing if he continued. In the meantime, I guess the best option is to sit and wait.
