License tagging for File:Aleksicreaper.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Aleksicreaper.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 12:07, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Image removed with no apparent reason

[edit]

Hello,

An image was removed from the article http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Stevan_Aleksi%C4%87

It had the proper license tag and everything. Another image, with exactly the same license tag, was not removed. Could I please receive an explanation for this? I would like to include this image again, but what is the point if the bot will delete it every time :(--Nslazstc (talk) 19:48, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The image was deleted by User:Fastily, but his reasoning doesn't make sense. I've asked him why he did so. --Carnildo (talk) 22:05, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

For File:Markovickoder.jpg, the source is listed as a scan you performed. In this type of situation, the source refers to the source material, so you should probably add the specific book and page you acquired this image from. That would really help anyone who wanted to verify the image, or create a larger scan. --Gyrobo (talk) 15:56, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Since it is a scan from a book, and the book uses the only known photograph of this person, made in mid-19th century, photographer unknown, what should I quote? This photo is featured in many books, but none of them is its real source. --Nslazstc (talk) 16:11, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Odjila.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Odjila.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 04:07, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's OK, it is not used for the article, I just don't see the "delete" button anywhere. Nslazstc

A tag has been placed on File:Odjila-cover.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the file is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Non-free rationale for File:Odjila-cover.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Odjila-cover.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 01:28, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
