Proposed deletion of Pc mover

[edit]

The article Pc mover has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No citation to show that this is indeed "popular", no other claim of notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Marasmusine (talk) 17:01, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Pc mover, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pc mover. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. ukexpat (talk) 17:47, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your off-wiki message. Please cite that fact from a reliable source, but you will need a lot more than that to show notability. – ukexpat (talk) 19:15, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's no use posting it on my talk page. Put in the article in a manner that does not infringe anyone's copyright, cite it properly with reference to reliable sources and it will be reviewed. – ukexpat (talk) 19:44, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD and use of hangon template

[edit]

Hi, I reverted your addition of the {{hangon}} template, which you placed on the article and the AfD discussion. That particular template is intended for use when a "speedy deleteion" tag is used on an article. However, that tag is not appropriate for the Pc mover article because that article is not tagged for speedy deletion, but is instead going through the AfD process. In the AfD process, which usually runs at least seven days, a determination is made by an administrator based on the merits of the arguments used in the deletion discussion, and how well those arguments show that a particular article does, or does not, meet the inclusion criteria of Wikipedia (in this case, meeting the notability guidelines defined in WP:CORP). --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 04:32, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Barek and thank you for your feedback! Again, PC Mover article is just an informative page which permits anyone associated with the Moving & Storage industry in the US to find out what is available to them to better their business practices. This is not meant as an advertisement of any sort. It's just information to enrich the world of these members and a chance to improve the M&S community.Nshoy (talk) 14:18, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The issue is that Wikipedia has notability guidelines for inclusion in the encyclopedia. Above I accidentally linked to the wrong guideline, the correct one I should have pointed you towards is the more generic WP:N. Please take a look at that page, especially the section titled "General notability guideline". The more you can include material about "PC mover" (not secondary subjects) that show it meets the threshold shown in that section, the more likely it is that reviewers of the material will support keeping the article. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 14:46, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
