From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the spirit of full disclosure, I am an employee of Nu Skin Enterprises who works in the communications department. This is an SPA as I feel that there are plenty of people who either are trying to pump up the company or its products, or have a bone to pick with the company or the direct selling industry. My goal is to help present the facts, clear of the promotional jargon and gripe site content that so frequently invade the Nu Skin entry.

The posts i make on this site are my own and do not necessarily reflect the official positions of Nu Skin or any of its brands or subsidiaries. And while this is an SPA, and I realize that any honest editor must take anything I contribute with a grain of salt, please know that I am doing this in a good faith effort to provide the most accurate information possible.

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Nu Skin Enterprises. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Since you have declared a conflict of interest on this article as a representative of the company, you may want to review the following: WP:Suggestions for COI compliance. Minor non-controversial edits to the article are fine, however I would recommend bringing more major edits to the talk page first with your recommended edit.  Leef5  TALK | CONTRIBS 17:28, 20 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I actually never did add any promotional content...I simply reverted what was in my opinion an unnecessary removal of content that already existed on the article. I have been very up front about my affiliation and am doing my best to follow Wikipedia guidelines, but do not make the mistake of believing that i am simply here to add promotional material as I clearly did not add any content. Username concern

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. However, I noticed that your username (Nscomms) may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it represents an organization (or in your case, a department of an organization) rather than only you personally. Clearly this is your personal account, but Wikipedia does not allow accounts that give the appearance of representing a company, as yours does, in spite of your disclaimer. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account to use for editing. Thank you.

You seem like a good-faith editor. I have alerted you to your username concern because it came up at Wikipedia:Usernames for administrator attention. I was about to block you until I read your talk page. Please go to Wikipedia:Changing username/Simple to change your name. All your editing history will become associated with your new username once it is renamed. ~Amatulić (talk) 15:54, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, Nscomms, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Beeblebrox (talk) 19:50, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Your honesty about this account is much appreciated, but I'm afraid your username is unacceptable nonetheless. Beeblebrox (talk) 19:51, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
