Thanks! Other U.S. school district may call them "escuelas medias" or "escuelas intermedias" - For instance the Houston Independent School District officially refers to its middle schools as "escuelas medias" and its high schools as "escuelas secundarias" - while other school districts may call their middle schools "escuelas secundarias" - But I don't mind the change as long as its clear where the escuelas secundarias are in proportion to the other school levels

When I get the Spanish names of school districts, I do a google site search for the word "distrito" (or if the school district name doesn't have "District" I use "Escuelas")

• I personally think that es:Masacre del instituto Columbine should be moved to es:Masacre de la Escuela Secundaria de Columbine or es:Masacre de la Escuela Preparatoria de Columbine to reflect Mainland U.S. Spanish usage WhisperToMe (talk) 23:46, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
  • Oh, I wasn't aware of that grammatical difference. In which countries is "de la" commonly used in this instance? And in which countries is "del" used?
  • I understand that the Spanish Wikipedia tries to choose country-neutral titles whenever possible (i.e. it uses latin names for animals), but I don't think it's possible to do it in this instance. I'm not sure what policy says, but I would prefer to use the version that a Spanish speaker in the mainland United States would typically use. Anyway, thanks for making the move :)

glass houses and other fun things
