Information icon Hello, I'm Dormskirk. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Italy, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Dormskirk (talk) 07:57, 18 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Dormskirk, I am Lt Col Gianluca Greco from NRDC-ITA Public Affairs Office.
I will upload sooner the link to our webpage.

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Italy, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Please note that you need to use "reliable, independent, published sources" and provide inline citations. Also if you work for NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Italy and / or are adding material provided by the NRDC-ITA Public Affairs Office, you have a conflict of interest and should be proposing changes on the article talk page. Dormskirk (talk) 14:03, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dormskirk, could you please guide me to add the contents from the NRDC-ITA official webpage? I don't know how to release the copyright as I am the person in charge of the website. I need to update the wikipedia ENG page of our HQ but the changes and the sources I mention are always rejected. Nrdcitapao (talk) 14:11, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi - You cannot add material from the NRDC-ITA official webpage because (i) it is not "independent" (ii) it is copyrighted and (iii) if the material is from the NRDC-ITA Public Affairs Office, then you have a conflict of interest. You need to propose additions from "independent" sources and propose them on the article talk page. And you cannot just copy and paste copyrighted material. Dormskirk (talk) 14:16, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So tell me, I have a brochure with all the info of the HQ. I noticed that in 2014 my predecessor linked the wikipedia page to a similar pdf brochure uploaded in the web (www.paonrdc.it). Could it be the right way? Nrdcitapao (talk) 06:45, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have updated the link to the history section on your website. However, what you cannot do is continue to copy and paste copyrighted material to Wikipedia. Please stop doing this: Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and persistent violators of our copyright policy will be blocked from editing. Dormskirk (talk) 09:35, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There is violation, I am the owner of the contents I am using to update Wikipedia page. So tell me what I should do. Nrdcitapao (talk) 10:20, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry....There is NO violation, I am the owner of the contents I am using to update Wikipedia page. So tell me what I should do. Nrdcitapao (talk) 10:21, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The NATO website remains copyrighted (please see the footnote on every page) and the ownership of the copyright remains with NATO. Please do nothing. An administrator has already removed some of the violations from the page history and hopefully will now delete the rest of them. Dormskirk (talk) 10:38, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The owner of the copyright is NRDC-ITA. So we are the owners. 176.200.2.152 (talk) 11:28, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That may be, but you still need to donate the copyright to Wikipedia first. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. It would be highly unusual for NATO material to be donated to Wikipedia as you then lose control of the content: we cannot accept material that claims "this can be used in Wikipedia, but not anywhere else or in derivative works." Secondly, even if you donate the copyright, you have a conflict of interest, so you should be proposing amendments on the talk page not cutting and pasting the material into Wikipedia. Wikipedia is independent. Dormskirk (talk) 11:45, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
