Thank you for your pic of rough cut Yogos! Please place it somewhere else in the article because where it sits now it "sandwiches" the text. Please also read a bit about article creation. The introduction doesn't need citations for facts mentioned in the body. Only quotations and facts that appear only in the intro need a citation. - @Gerda Arendt not a problem. I'll fix the photo and take a better look at the wiki tools. Notyouryellowstone (talk) 02:01, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
The file File:Yogosappiregemgallery.webp has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
This is a copyrighted image and not appropriate for fair use (is it possible to obtain free images of rough cut sapphires, there is one already in the relevant article)
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Montanabw(talk) 15:10, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
FYI
[edit]Sorry, but had to tag that Yogo sapphire image for deletion. The whole page is copyrighted by the source, and it’s a violation of Wikipedia’s policies to claim for use of an image where it’s theoretically possible to get free images elsewhere. We’ve got an image of a generic rough cut sapphire in the article already— (I took one of a Yogo on an older phone, but when we took the article to FAC, we decided it was too low resolution. One of these days, I’ll have a good camera when I’m able to take another shot of the same rock or you can of you visit the mineral museum at Tech in Butte! But anyway, just letting you know I’m not trying to be a jerk here. Montanabw(talk) 15:20, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @Montanabw totally fine. I havent been to that museum in Butte. I used to volunteer at the Gallatin History Museum in Bozeman, great spot. Does the mineral museum have a lot of sapphires? Notyouryellowstone (talk) 22:27, 27 September 2023 (UTC)
- Not really, I think the image I have in WP (the crappy blurry rock one I took with an older cellphone) may be the only one. Both the Mining Museum at Tech and the nearby World Museum of mining have a lot of very cool rock and mineral specimens, though, if you’re into that sort of thing. Orphaned non-free image File:Yogosappiregemgallery.webp
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Yogosappiregemgallery.webp. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:43, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
Montana
[edit]Hello, Hello from Miles City! I saw you joined the Montana Wikiproject and are interested in music and breweries. It's been quite a while since you edited so this is certainly belated. You tackled some pretty large articles which can be really overwhelming. I'm hoping with some bite-sized articles (or maybe a pint instead of a growler?) you might come back and help improve the Montana articles.
One idea is choosing articles from Category:Music of Montana. There is also Category:Beer brewing companies based in Montana with a few choices on the large breweries. Another place to get a variety of articles that need help is at Category:Stub-Class Montana articles. Just grab an article from any of these and copyedit, add references, expand, update, whatever. You'll find your own rhythm soon enough. Glad to see you here and if you need any help feel free to ask. Tbennert (talk) 21:21, 7 April 2024 (UTC)
