If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Bella bay estates, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Shirt58 (talk) 12:31, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Ohnoitsjamie. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added, because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Spam?

[edit]

Hello NorcoKonaRockyOpusBrodie. The "references" you inserted in Turks and Caicos Islands and Piracy are most certainly not reliable sources. While they do have some connection to the relevant topics, they actually look a lot like linkspam. In briefly looking through your contributions, I see that you've been inserting similar links for quite some while. Am I missing something? Do you think these citations meet the guideline? Since adding spam is forbidden and can lead to a loss of editing privileges, I thought I'd better check first to see if I'm somehow reading this wrong. Rivertorch's Evil Twin (talk) 03:44, 2 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rivertorch's Evil Twin, I tried to go to your talk page, but it's really confusing... You said this is a sockpuppet account, but when I go to your "real" account it says you have departed Wikipedia and you're not checking your Talk page? Wikipedia is very confusing, and it's obviously meant for people who can figure out the rules! I see that you have removed the citations. I'm not going to argue with you. If you feel that was necessary, that's great. I'm not even sure if you will see this reply! NorcoKonaRockyOpusBrodie (talk) 04:29, 2 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the confusion. I do watch the talk pages where I've made a comment. (That's what most Wikipedians do, since it's the default setting, so you're usually safe replying on the same page as the comment you're replying to, as you did here.) Yes, Wikipedia can be confusing, but if you read the policy pages and pay attention to what they say, it eventually makes sense, for the most part. And there are a lot of people who are more than willing to help. You can ask questions at the Help Desk or by typing {{Help me}} in a new section here on your talk page.
It concerns me that you were warned twice—the first time in 2014 and then again nine months ago—about adding what appear to be spam or promotional links to articles but are still doing it. It's true that I have removed the two latest examples, but are there others outstanding? (I'll check back here for your reply, but not immediately.) Rivertorch's Evil Twin (talk) 04:49, 2 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I had no idea there were others outstanding. WildPlay is a noteworthy place; the Port Hardy Hotel one was also a noteworthy place, but someone deleted it. I find Wikipedia is pretty hit-and-miss and inconsistent in terms of what is "allowed" and what is not allowed. It's also personality-driven, too, depending whoever is editing at the time. The culture of Wikipedia is very unique and unpredictable. So I generally just don't respond in order to avoid creating a conflict.
You see, this is the sort of thing I'm talking about. I get called out for spam --> you're using a sockpuppet that directs me to your original Talk Page --> your Talk Page says you're not checking your Talk Page --> we converse here, you call me a spammer --> you then go dark. Is it any wonder Wikipedia is perceived as a Byzantine, closed community that has no logicality when it comes to community rules? Highly frustrating.
Well, no. I didn't call you a spammer. In fact, I assumed good faith. (Doing so is one of those Byzantine aspects of Wikipedia, I guess.) And I didn't say there were other questionable links outstanding; I asked you if there were. Sigh. You see, those of us who have a working knowledge of Wikipedia get frustrated, too, because we've taken a lot of time and trouble to brush up on how things work and then, when we try to be helpful and kind, we're misunderstood. I could have just left you an impersonal boilerplate message like the ones further up this page. Get enough of those and you end up getting blocked. Instead, I chose to try to engage with you as a human being, in hopes of fixing what looked like a problem and not alienating a potentially good editor. If I wasted my time or yours, I sincerely apologize. RivertorchFIREWATER 10:52, 4 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
So you didn't call me a spammer, but you called my additions "spammy." And reverted them. Got it.
