Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! tedder (talk) 06:04, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'd encourage you to look at Wikipedia's external links guideline before adding links, such as the ones you've added to Honda Transalp. Specifically, the sections on WP:ELYES, WP:ELMAYBE, and WP:ELNO. The latter describes how fansites are not permitted. tedder (talk) 06:29, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Ted

I was only trying to add some links that would be helpful to other Transalp owners or people looking for more info on the Transalp. If Wikipedia wants to prohibit links like that or considers it spamming, I guess I wont be attempting to contribute anything else.

On a side note, I'm probably going to be in the Portland area in mid/late July for a family reunion party. I'll send you a PM thru ADVrider and maybe we could hook up for a ride & some brews.

I figured it was about 50/50 that was you, Dave :-) Yeah, the policy behind external links at Wikipedia is strict. Long story. Let me know when you are coming, I'll add it to my calendar and we should hook up. When it's about a week away you can announce it and invite the local scum. I'd love to show you a couple of roads! tedder (talk) 21:23, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
