Stephen King

[edit]

Hi. Please do not add unsourced material or original research to articles, as you did with this edit to Stephen King, as this violates Wikipedia's policies of No Original Research and Verifiability. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 04:09, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mansi

[edit]

I wish I could help you, but I have no knowledge of the Mansi language and whatever I contributed to Wikipedia concerning it comes from a book on my shelf or other sources. In my opinion, unfortunately, starting a Mansi Wikipedia would become just another "dead project", as only a few people speak that language, and they hardly have any kind of Internet access. Instead, I recommend getting involved in the Komi language edition, as that would make much more sense. Anyway, most materials concerning Mansi are Hungarian (or at least I think that), and I don't really have any. It's also unlikely you'd find anything useful on the web, look it up in a library, thats my best idea for the moment. I hope my thoughts are useful for you. --Cserlajos (talk) (contribs) 19:57, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Instead, please attempt to generate consensus here. ignoring the rules is permissable, but only on matters of grave import. It's not license to carve out systemic exceptions to rules of style that help keep wikipedia consistent across gazillions of articles. Used that way, WP:IAR degrades wikipedia. David in DC (talk) 21:12, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Blood (German band) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

no indication of notability. No independent WP:reliable sources

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. noq (talk) 16:14, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Jewish serial killers

[edit]

Category:Jewish serial killers, which you created, has been nominated for possible deletion, merging, or renaming. If you would like to participate in the discussion, you are invited to add your comments at the category's entry on the Categories for discussion page. Thank you. BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 17:04, 3 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Category:Jewish serial killers, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. ...William 16:15, 5 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wikilinking

[edit]

Hi, and thanks for your work on the English Wikipedia.

I noticed an article you worked on. Just a short note to point out that we don’t normally link:

  • dates
  • years
  • commonly known geographical terms (including well-known country-names), and
  • common terms you’d look up in a dictionary (unless significantly technical).

(This even applies for infoboxes.)

Thanks and my best wishes.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Arnold Sagalyn, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Herald Tribune (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi Nonexyst, I was wondering why you flagged the BriaAndChrissy article as having unreliable sources on 10 Feb 2014. Which sources were you concerned with? Please note that, when locating subjects alphabetically, Chinese family names are usually the first-mentioned and the given names the last-mentioned. So, in your edit move recently, Yuan Baohua would come under "Y" not "B". If in doubt, look in the article edit source at the 'Defaultsort' info near the bottom. (John Smith would show "Smith, John", but his says "Yuan, Baohua".) I've corrected that - happy future editing. Ref (chew)(do) 20:09, 9 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The article Moon-beast has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fictional race that fails WP:NFICTION, WP:GNG and WP:PLOT. BEFORE does not show any analysis, only in-universe style summaries.
