Schools
Please try to restrict yourself to creating articles about notable schools. See WP:SCHOOL for some guidance. -- Scjessey (talk) 18:32, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of "Stanley Middle School (North Carolina)"
The deletion of an article you created, [[:]], has been proposed for the following reason:
- Non-notable Middle School, does not satisfy notability guidelines in WP:SCHOOL
You are welcome to improve the article to meet Wikipedia's quality standards and remove the deletion notice from the article. You may also remove the notice if you disagree with the deletion, though in such cases, further discussion may take place at Articles for deletion, and the article may still be deleted if there is a consensus to do so.
Wikipedia has certain standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. Additionally, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, content inappropriate for an encyclopedia, or content that would be more suited to somewhere else (such as a directory or social networking website) is not acceptable. See What Wikipedia is not for the relevant policy. You may wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Belmont Middle School
Thanks for adding the additional reference in the Belmont Middle School article. You might want to periodically check on this article. Some may consider it is still not notable because notability is not inherited. Although the statue may be notable, the school may not be. If might help if you could add some tie between school activities and the statue (is there an annual celebration, for example?). Thanks. Truthanado (talk) 15:53, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
Recent changes patrol
Just as an "FYI", most newly created articles are quickly assessed by an army of regular editors who "patrol" recent changes. Typically, articles which fit certain criteria will be tagged within moments of being created. Please note that my suspicion of sock puppetry is not meant as a slight to you personally; however, Chad01 claimed that he/she created articles that had, in fact, been created by you. This lead me to suspicious that sock puppetry was taking place. I apologize in advance if this turns out to not be the case. Being accused (and exonerated) of sock puppetry carries no stigma - it has happened to me on several occasions. -- Scjessey (talk) 03:54, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Chad01
Hi, The User: Scjessey who was saying something about sock puppetry was misunderstanding something in the conflict. If you have made a article you can take the credit for it i'm not trying to say i made them all but i thought i had started all of the School pages for the article "Gaston County Schools" Thanks for helping me edit them and make them better. Any questions just ask. Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chad01 (talk • contribs) 05:02, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Gaston County Schools
Yeah i think theres enough room on wikipedia for all the schools to have a page and since i live here in gaston county maybe it will be easier for me to get the information and i'll start those articles again, after looking at other schools pages and seeing how there set up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chad01 (talk • contribs) 16:56, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Alright i understand now what your saying. I will look but i dont anything about Belmont Middle. Do you live in Gaston County? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chad01 (talk • contribs) 17:10, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Response
Generally, populated places that have officially recognized names are considered inherently notable, see WP:OUTCOMES. If you want to nominate it at afd, you are of course free to do so, perhaps the outcome will be different than what one commonly expects. Wikipedians are fickle folks... You cite to a draft policy, one that has no current effect and is being vigorously debated on the talk page, feel free to join the discussion, but you'll find that many draft policies never come to fruition in part because something - here the inherent notability (or not) of settlements - is something for which consensus is elusive. Request reason:
I was mistakenly accused of being a sock puppet of another user. I am a real person and would like to have my account unblocked. My offense was re-creating a non-notable page that had, unbeknownst to me, just been closed. I was accused of being the original author under a pseudonym. Now that I am familiar with notability guidelines I won't do it again.
Decline reason:
There is strong evidence that says otherwise — Tiptoety talk 22:47, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
