'stub' status

[edit]

Hello,

Thank you for your stub submission. You may wish to note that it is preferable to use a stub template from Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Stub types instead of using simply {{stub}}, if you can.

why do you agree? both of them are bigger than all of the banbury estate articles but i suppose many subsections on the speedcubing article would make it uber (possibly featured eventually)

category

[edit]

Hi if you're on and dont hav much to do then you can add to my new category Category: Non-League Footballers

Obviously there will be a huge number of players. I am doing oxford united but if you want to do some then find a conference club and add it to all their players. it would be a big favour. --geniussansom 16:27, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I'm planning to get all the players into that one just so we have them all and divide them up from there. There isn't many players below conference level. --geniussansom 18:02, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well I tried to look up information about a list of England national rugby union team notable former players with objective rules, its really hard to find. I need too a list of best top scorers ans a list of best tries scorer. I am looking for economic aspects of England national rugby union team : tv rights, coverture, how many english players in rugby union / football / cricket and other major sports in england...

Do you have some information to better english and french articles to do a featured article ?

EDF Energy Cup Final Attendance

[edit]

Just out of interest, how did you find that total for the attendance at the EDF Energy Cup final? Both the tournament's official website and the BBC say the attendance was 60,000. Granted, this seems a little too precise, so I'm inclined to believe your figure, but I'm just curious as to how you came across it. Also, how did you get those awards on your Userpage? I've got over 1000 edits on Wikipedia and no one has given me diddly squat! PeeJay 01:06, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just a couple of reminders...

[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as in User talk:Gyppo, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. When using certain template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:uw-test1}} instead of {{uw-test1}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. U-Mos 18:46, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, where did you get the dates for the appointments of all the England coaches? Is there a reference you could add to the section? Thanks. - Shudda talk 05:27, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm definitely not disputing the list being correct! But having a reference is necessary if the article is ever to be a GA or FA. Do you know what book it was? Are you able to add a reference? - Shudda talk 23:43, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No a web page is definitely not necessary as a reference. In fact a book is preferable to a web page! If you could add the book to the bibliography section of the England page that would be great. It's best to use a consistent format, so I recommend the citation template {{cite book| title= |publisher= |place= |year= |first= |last= |isbn=}} A complete list of the templates can be found at WP:CITET. Any questions let me know. - Shudda talk 01:52, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey thanks for adding that. Do you know what page number it was? - Shudde talk 23:05, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The format I use is once I have added a book to the page's bibliography. I reference the page number but adding <ref name="AuthorPageNum">Author's surname (year of publication), pg number.</ref>. So for the book you are referring to, at the end of the introductory sentence on coaches I would add <ref>Farmer (2006), pg whatever.</ref>. Hopefully my explanation is good enough! - Shudde talk 00:05, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would definitely appreciate any help in getting the article to WP:FA status. It's slowly getting there. There are quite a few things that need to be done. What i'm doing is using France national rugby union team and All Blacks as the standards for the England article to aim to. So the layout and general format between the three should be very similar. If you look at the talk page for the England article there is a todo list there. One thing you could do is reformat the Current squad section. The format should be the same as the All Blacks current squad. I also think that the squad is now 40, not 47 players. The other thing that needs to be done is references need to be added to the history and Twickenham sections. Any refs you could add there would be greatly appreciated. - Shudde talk 00:47, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Does the reference you used for the coaches list have information on individual records? Such as most appearances, youngest and oldest Test players. Things like that? I have most of the information, and some records change frequently (for example Jonny Wilkinson will keep scoring points) but most will prob chance rarely. Any help would be appreciated. - Shudde talk 04:43, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I got a source for it- [[1]]. --86.29.134.254 (talk) 18:27, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Adrian Rhymes requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. XXX antiuser eh? 21:02, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Adrian Rhymes has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of notability. Only self-published hits on web search and nothing on news search.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Experienced and new contributors are all welcome. This event is definitely not restricted just to discussion of Oxford related topics. Bring your laptop if you like and use the free Wifi or just bring yourself. Even better, bring a friend! Click the link for full details. Looking forward to seeing you. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New deal for page patrollers

[edit]

Hi Noface1,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
